Anything Is Possible

I was marvelled at how innocent she sounded. Her words were convincing and a sudden anger washed down inside me. Like why would she pretend not to know me?

"She might have her reasons and besides, you pretended not to know her at first"

Some voice said at the back of my mind.

"Hopefully, what he had said about me were of good conducts"

I said, smiling broadly. I had pushed back my anger and decided to see what this is all about.

"Of course. I will never say bad things about my dear sister."

Tracy said and I chuckled,"of course"

Silence descended for a while until I broke it.

"I was actually on my way to the kitchen to see if I can have something to eat but I am not sure I can really cook for three persons now"

I paused to look at Catherine who was watching me with her big eyes.

"Can you cook for us? Let me get to know this charming girlfriend of yours?"

I asked and Tracy nodded

"Sure".

He kissed her forehead and then left the room.

I watched him leave and when he was gone, I turned back to Catherine and smiled.

"I am surprised you are here as my brother's girlfriend ?" I said and sat next to her on the bed.

I looked at her carefully, searching for any signs of deception in her face.

"Oh... well" she said shyly. She tried her best to make eye contact with me but couldn't help herself. I was so sure she was faking the shyness. Of course, she was faking everything and being Tracy's girlfriend, she must have her reasons. Catherine doesn't like boys.

"He didn't tell you, huh? He must have been afraid you wouldn't approve us"

I could feel my blood boiling. I knew Catherine is an actor but I never expected her to pretend like this in front of me. I felt like punching her face.

"Of course I would not have approved it. Who are you fooling, Catherine?"

She dropped the false facade and smiled.

"I am not fooling you. I know you never wanted me as your girlfriend. I met Tracy some weeks back and liked him. He asked me out and I agreed. I never realized that you were his sister until he dropped by an hour ago and asked me to follow him here. I was so surprised to find out that you are his beloved sister he can't stop talking about. I just knew that staying away from you was not possible"

The smile on her lips faltered and she smirked.

"What do you think? That you will be able to discard me like that?"

Her smirk grew wider.

"Of course, that will never be possible. It seems like destiny wants us together"

I scoffed at her remark and stood up.

"I am glad that you are my brother's girlfriend"

  I said to her surprise.

"You think I will suddenly love a boy?"

She asked with raised brows.

"Yes. Anything is possible. Why would you date my brother if you don't love him?"

"I don't love him"

"Then how come you are dating him?"

Her smirk disappeared from her lips completely and she stared at me in disbelief.

"Who told you I am dating him?!"

Her voice started rising higher in pitch. Her cheeks flushed crimson.

"I needed him to get distracted but after finding out that he is your brother. There is no need to not go ahead and love him when he will be my key to being close to you"

She added furiously. Her hands began shaking violently. Her arms were crossed and she was breathing heavily, she had clenched her fists so hard that white lines appeared on her knuckles.

"Catherine, you don't have to do this to prove anything. There was never a relationship between us. What we had was flings. It will interest you to know that I can only love one person"

My words hit her harder than I thought it would.

She chuckled," I see. You love someone else while I love you. It's human nature to chase things that don't want them."

She was walking close to me in a matter of seconds.

"I will one day have you all to myself, Tasha. Not even that Felix of a guy will stop me"

It was a promise I knew she would keep. Since I had nothing to say, I turned and left for my room. I have got a bigger issue to deal with and I need a clear head to think. Tracy mustn't know I had something to do with Catherine. It's going to break him if he finds out that Catherine and I did not only date but we pretended not to know ourselves before him.
