The Troubling Question

Gui Shan in an attempt to find answers to his questions, decided to do as the grandmaster told him, he went into a state of deep meditation and surprisingly, he saw himself in that same forest, with much anxiety, he yelled the name of the grandmaster and he stepped into the house.

He found the grandmaster sleeping, he then woke him up, on getting up, the grandmaster told him, "Gui Shan...Gui Shan, why disturb my rest, what's the problem?"

Gui Shan replied the grandmaster and told him he wanted to feed his curiosity, he asked the old man, "where are we now?"

The old man replied, "we are in your subconscious mind", he then asked how was that possible and why was just it just yesterday he started seeing him?

The grandmaster answered, "part of my primordial was left in that crystal you took from my cage, which you later absorbed"

Gui Shan replied, "I didn't absorb it, it entered me of it's own accord"

The old man said, "The reason for that is because you are my chosen successor"

"You are meant to inherit my power and years of cultivation and change the world", "the world you see today is full of evil, and only power vested in the right individual can restore peace"

Gui Shan then asked, "So you mean I have your powers and years of cultivation?"

The old man answered, "Not yet, you need intense training to fully master my skills and inherit them"

Gui Shan then asked, "With all these skills you mean I'll become a great warrior... that's the wolf warrior, you told me about?"

"Yes!", the old man said.

"So when do I begin my training?" Giu Shan asked, "when you are ready" the old man said.

Gui Shan lost in his thoughts asked the old man, "With this skills you are assuring me that I'll be invincible and be able to save the weak?"

"O yes! That's the duty of the strong, the strong is meant to protect the weak and not abuse his power", the old man said.

Gui Shan already weary the conversation, decided to end the discussion and come back to his conscious mind. Upon waking up, he heard a knock on his door, it was his mother.

"Gui Shan...Gui Shan...Gui Shan", the mother shouted repeatedly. "I was asleep mom" Gui Shan replied, keeping his conversation with the old man secret.

"Why are you sleeping and doing nothing, go fetch me some firewood", the mother said

"Okay mother", Gui Shan replied.

Gui Shan took his blade, a rope and then set out for the forest. He walked happily down the path to the woods, he sang songs with joy flowing through his mind, indeed the recent incidents has added a new chapter in his life.

He got to the forest, cut down a tree and chopped it into pieces with his blade, bundled it and started heading back home awaiting what his next goals should after having an encounter with the grandmaster and having seen he was the chosen one, he went into deep thoughts.

As fate would have it, a hungry and ferocious looking lion appeared before him, without his consciousness, he saw he was able to evade the first attack by the lion, the battle began.
