Gui Shan Saves Mulang Village
Gui Shan explained to the physician that the Inn was the only means of survival for the old man and pleaded that the Inn keeper should be considered.
Surprisingly enough, the physician was recalcitrant and refused to treat the man's illness.
Gui Shan out wisdom told the physician to head back home, stating that he would try his best to convince the inn keeper to meet with the term.
Immediately the physician left, Gui Shan's hunch gave him a sign to trail the physician and more the less know his home.
Gui Shan carefully followed the physician to his home without being noticed.
On getting to the physician home, he decided to head back home since he has satisfied his curiosity.
He concluded in his heart that later at night, he would go to the physicians house and see if he can convince to show some pity.
On his way back home, he went past a store and saw some drunk men discussing.
He overhead their conversation.
"When would all these strange illness stop afflicting our people",
"Even the village physician refused to cure my wife because we couldn't meet his demands", a man said.
On hearing this, Gui Shan got convinced that something was fishy about the village.
He decided to do a proper investigation when he got home.
Upon his arrival, he met Tang Tang and Ru Yuo serving some customers.
"Hi Gui Shan, How was the discussion with the physician? Hope it went well?", Ru Yuo asked.
"Trust Gui Shan, he's good at sweet-talking people into doing what they wouldn't want to do", Tang added.
"The physician refused to treat the inn keeper", Gui Shan said out of pity.
Ru Yuo and Tang Tang being caught by surprise, enquired why the physician refused to offer treatment to the old man.
Gui Shan explained to them that the condition given by the physician was beyond his capacity and too wishful.
He told the both of them about his discovery on the issue. And told them that the inn keeper wasn't the only one suffering from that illness.
He promised to do a proper investigation on the matter. Still on the investigation, Gui Shan decided to pay a visit to some villagers.
Quickly, he went to an old lady and asked her some few questions concerning the recent illness that has been plaguing the villagers.
"My son, I advice not to dig too deep into this issue, those who have tried always end up dying of strange illness", the old woman said.
From the old woman's statement, Gui Shan knew someone was behind the whole thing.
Gui Shan couldn't imagine someone being heartless to the point that he even plagues his fellow villagers with strange illness.
Still adamant to get to the root of the matter, he decided to go back home and watch his next move.
On reaching the inn, Gui Shan went to his room and locked the doors, he went into a deep thought.
Although he wasn't from that village, he was pained to see those poor villagers suffer from strange illness.
He came to a conclusion that the only way to get answers to the question was to confront the physician.
Gui Shan had a deep thought and wondered why it was only the physician that had cure to the illness that have been inflicted on the villagers.
Because those who were able to meet with his demands could testify how they were immediately saved from the brink of death by a medicinal pill they were given by the physician.
Gui Shan had a strong conviction that he would find answers if he investigates the physician.
So later that night as Gui Shan had planned, he went to the physician's manor to spy on him and get answers.
Gui Shan arrived at the physician's residence and stood close to window where he could have a good view of what goes on inside.
He waited for an hour and nothing out of the ordinary happened in the physician's manor.
As he was about leaving, luckily for him, he some footsteps and saw a stranger enter into the house of the physician.
From the looks of the stranger, he doesn't look like a villager in Mulang village. Must be an outsider, he thought in himself.
He quiet down and carefully listened to the conversation of the physician and the stranger.
They talked for a while. But as they were coming to a conclusion he heard the stranger say something.
"These are the antidotes to the poisons... we're short of supplies", wisphered the stranger.
"Antidotes...for poisons", Gui Shan thought in himself.
He decided to act quick. Realizing the fact that the physician has been in the shadows poisoning the villagers in a small and cure them with elixir to the poison.
As a smart boy, he decided to watch the physician for a while. He was waiting for an opportunity to get the antidotes from the manor to save the innkeeper and the helpless villagers.
Immediately the physician left that room, he sneaked into the room quietly and quickly got the bottle of antidotes.
But before he left, he thought of a means to leave a proof that the physician was behind the illness of the villagers.
He quickly poured some quantity of the poison under a bench in the room took the antidotes and some poison along as evidence.
Immediately he got out of the physician's manor, he ran like never before till he got to the inn.
Upon his arrival, Tang Tang quickly opened the door for him as they were waiting for his safe return.
Meanwhile at the physician's manor, when the man discovered that all his goods disappeared into thin air, he was worried.
But calmed himself, thinking there was no evidence that would link him to the crime.
Gui Shan panted like a dog as he successfully arrived at the successfully arrived at the inn without being spotted.
"I have the antidote", Gui Shan said with excitement.
"What antidote?", Tang Tang questioned.
"The villagers were poisoned, same with the inn keeper", Gui Shan said.
He later explained all what transpired at the physician's manor. And told Tang of the strange visitor and how he uncovered the mystery.
"Quick! Let's take the antidote to the inn keeper", Gui Shan said as they both hurried to meet the sick old man.
They both entered the inn keeper's room and saw him in a condition as though life was being sapped out of him.
Gui Shan quickly took a pill and put it in the old man's mouth. To their surprise, the inn keeper got well in few minutes.
Gui Shan then narrated how he knew about the antidote and exposed the physician's evil.
The old man was indeed happy and commended Gui Shan and his friends for their hardwork.
The next day, Gui Shan together with the inn keeper went to the village head and explained his ordeal.
Gui Shan told the village head that he would prove himself by curing all the sick villagers with the antidote he obtained from the manor.
The village head still baffled at the Gui Shan's discovery, gave him the license to provided that no one is hurt in the process.
Gui Shan together with his friends went from door to door with the antidote to give to those who were victims of the physician's scheme.
Unknowingly to the physician, his evil plot has been discovered. He was trying to exploit the village by poisoning them and curing them with the antidote for the poison.
After the affected villagers were cured, Gui Shan went back to the village head with some victims who have been cured.
Immediately the village saw this, he believed Gui Shan and ordered a part of his troop to surround the physician's manor and find evidence for his arrest.
Gui Shan led the way to the physician's manor and the troop got him surrounded.
The physician was shocked by the way he was being reprimanded. He said that it was injustice if there was no evidence incriminating him.
"This is a scheme and plot", "it's unacceptable", the physician said.
Surprisingly enough, one of the search men, found some poisonous substance under his bed which matches the poison Gui Shan gave as proof.
The physician was immediately apprehended and taken to prison. He pleaded for forgiveness but no one was willing to listen since what he did was treacherous.
As the physician was taken to the prison meant for defaulters in the community, many persons laughed and scorned him.
The villagers hated him for unwillingness to treat the sick villagers. But the hatred amassed when they found out that he was the one behind those strange illness.
On the other hand, news of Gui Shan's bravery has spread over the village, the villagers screamed his name as walked along side the culprit.
Gui Shan was happy indeed that he was the savior of Mulang village. The villagers...
