Arrival In Sushi Village
They arrived at the entrance of the village and were about moving when a constable confronted them.
"Stop! Who are people and what are here in Sushi village for?", the official asked.
"We're poor travellers on a journey to the capital, but weariness have taken over our body. So we decided to seek refuge in Sushi village before continuing our journey", Tan Ning said in a faint tone.
"I can see how pitiful you guys look, you may enter, but avoid being nosy, or else you may not live to tell the story", the constable warned as he let them through.
They all walked briskly before the official changes his mind.
"I wonder why Sushi village have such a high sense of security and interrogation, seems to me that the poison sect are actually scheming something big", Gui Shan said.
"Nevertheless, let's not lose focus on our mission", Chen Feng said. But after gaining entrance, the next step was to contact their ally and find accomodation.
After walking some distance, an idea struck Chen Feng.
"I have an idea", he said as he quickly called the attention of everyone.
"I just came up with something. I've figured a way of drawing the man out without attracting suspicion", Chen Feng said.
"We are going to stage as though we are street performers who perform for monetary gain", he said.
"Bi Yao and Qin Feiye would stage the dancing, Gui Shan and Hu Mei would add some drumming to spice it up",
"I'll be the speaker who would call out the attention of the people to come watch some dance steps and drop some money",
"Tan Ning would be in charge of collecting the money, meanwhile, I'll would be exhibiting and displaying the token on my neck", he said.
"While this is on going, I believe our ally would contact us after getting a glimpse of the token. Considering his adeptness in investigation", Chen Feng said.
Immediately after they conversed and came to a balance point, the show began. Bi Yao and Qin Feiye are seen dancing beautifully well to the beats given by Gui Shan and Hu Mei.
Chen Feng on his own part, invited others to join them. He called on passers by and shop owners to come watch.
In few minutes, crowds were seen watching, cheering and giving money in admiration. "Thanks you...thank you...", Tan Ning would say to as many who came out to give them money.
"Come watch these beautiful dancers perform with excellent steps", Chen Feng continued yelling out.
Meanwhile, the ally that was to contact them had been watching from a distance. Immediately he spotted the token, he made his move.
He scribbled some words into a piece of paper, went forward and skillfully gave it to Tan Ning in pretence of dropping a token.
Tan Ning collected the note and quickly had a glimpse of what was written inside;
"Meet me behind Fuyi restaurant", it read.
"Fuyi restaurant?...", Tan Ning said as he looked up.
He was sharp sighted and saw a notice board a few meters away tagged: "Welcome to Fuyi restaurant".
The show then continued for some minutes. After stalling the crowd for a while, Tan Ning quickly gave Chen Feng a signal.
Chen Feng was adept to know that the man had communicated to Tan Ning. So as well, he signaled Bi Yao and Qin Feiye, alongside Gui Shan and Hu Mei.
After getting the signal, they all decided to end the performance. The people cheered them as the play came to an end.
"Thank you...thank you...", Bi Yao and Qin Feiye said as they left the platform.
"Bi Yao...you were great out there. I never knew we had such a dancing princess with hidden talents", Gui Shan said in admiration.
"Was I really great out there?", Bi Yao asked in amazement as she shrugged.
"Yes of course! Your steps were mind-blowing", Gui Shan said.
"Okay, let's go to our main business. During the performance, a middle aged man contacted me and passed me a note", Tan Ning said.
"I believe he must be the ally principal Ming spoke of", he said.
"He requested that we meet him behind Fuyi restaurant", Tan Ning said pointing at the restaurant which was just a stone throw away.
So they all headed in that direction and went for it. They got to the back of the restaurant, but found no one.
"Are you sure we are in the right place? Seems no one has been here", Qin Feiye said.
To the surprise of them all, a middle aged man jumped from the roof top of the restaurant. It was the man who fit the description of what principal Ming told them.
"Talaaa...", He said as he landed lightly on the floor without causing any sound vibration on the floor.
They were all amazed by his foot skill.
"Wow...I think Tang Tang should try doing this", Gui Shan said in amazement.
"Good day sir", they all greeted.
"Good day to you all. I'm Si Yin, an undercover agent working with the academy", he said.
"Seems to me that you must be the six students spoken of in the letter to get useful Intel about the poison tribe", Si Yin said.
"It's a pleasure working with you elder Si Yin", they replied.
"No...ooo..., I'm most honoured to have you in Sushi village", Si Yin said.
"I don't know how long you plan on staying here, but I assure you all that your expenses and accomodation during the stay period would be taken care of", he said.
"Actually, I have an inn, it's just few meters away from here. Hope you wouldn't mind taking a tour with me as we go there", he said.
"But you know what, a lot of spies from the poison tribe are out there watching",
"So in order to avoid suspicion, you are all to follow me from a distance, but make sure you keep sight of me", he said.
"The reason for this is to pose that we are on different businesses and have nothing in common. Make you take note of the inn I entered and follow afterwards", he added.
"That wouldn't be a problem", Chen Feng said as the others nodded in agreement.
The next moment, they all moved together in sole agreement of getting to the inn. As they walked down the streets, they gave him some gap as planned.
After walking some distance, elder Si Yin stopped by and entered an inn. Chen Feng was in close watch and took note of the inn Si Yin entered.
After some time, they came by the inn, stood at the entrance as though they were travellers contemplating on choice of where to lay their heads.
The six of them entered the inn with so much confidence. But whispered some words among themselves.
"Act as though we've never met Si Yin", Chen Feng said in a hush tone. They walked past some people we were eating in the cafe and headed for the administrative office.
"Where's the manager?", Chen Feng asked as he hit a table nearby.
"Good day sir, how may I help you!", Elder Si Yin asked as though he never knew them.
The students were startled by the act he pulled off.
"Hmmm..., I need two your best rooms", Chen Feng said still startled.
"Okay, I'll prepare two rooms and invite you over. Just give me some few minutes, it'll be ready", Elder Si Yin said as he rushed to the second floor of the building.
He stalled a little bit and returned. "The rooms are ready now, you may follow my lead", he said.
He took them to the second floor and showed them two rooms.
"The two females would make use of this room, while the males would stay in the other one", he said pointing to them.
"I'll be back later in the day, just feel relaxed and comfortable", he said.
"Furthermore, if you need anything, you can do well to call my attention", he added.
"Wow... principal Ming was right. I never knew that there was a person who can put up an act perfectly without screwing up", Gui Shan said.
"Yeah, he really lived up to our expectations",
"However, we can retire to our rooms and rest while we await him in the evening to strategize how to make the mission a success", Chen Feng said.
So both the males and females retired to their rooms. It was indeed a hectic journey.
Gui Shan, Tan Ning, Hu Mei and Chen Feng entered into their room and to their surprise, it was a grand and well furnished room.
They dropped their belongings and baggage as they took various sitting positions.
"I feel hungry, guess I should go order some food", Gui Shan said.
So Gui Shan came out of his room to go order some food from the cafe in the inn. Coincidentally, Gui Shan stumbled on Bi Yao.
