"Okay! But ensure you don't make rash decisions that may backlash," Bi Yao said.

"Yes, I'll ensure that," Gui Shan said.

After that, Gui Shan accompanied Bi Yao back to the royal court and from there returned back to his dorm.

On getting to his dorm, he lay on his bed with lots of thoughts running through his mind. After some moment of thoughts, he decided to just forge ahead and live up to his fathers legacy by defeating Yan Mo.

"I just have to be strong and live up to your legacy, dad," Gui Shan said.

Back in the Bi's manor, eunuch Wang returned from duty that night, so he decided to check on Bi Yao and see what news she had for him.

"Good evening my angel," eunuch Wang said to Bi Yao.

"Good evening father, how was duty today?" Bi Yao asked.

"It was fine. Besides how about what I asked you to enquire from Gui Shan, any progress?" Eunuch Wang asked.

"Father...Gui Shan is not hiding anything, he's just bent on getting justice for his parents who were murdered in the capital," Bi Yao said

"Did he tell you who his parents was?" Eunuch Wang asked.

"No...he just said his father was an important figure right here in the capital," Bi Yao said.

"Now it all adds up...," Eunuch Wang said within himself.

"Okay, but make sure you are careful around him, in case he has some evil scheme," he said.

"Don't worry father, Gui Shan is a good person. How could he bear to possibly hurt me, when he had risked his life several times to save me," Bi Yao said.

"Okay if you say so," Eunuch Wang said.

"Gui Shan even needs me more than ever, seems he is depressed. What can I do?" Bi Yao said in deep thoughts.

After the conversation, Eunuch Wang left her in her room, but while he departed, he told some of the maids to keep an eye on her and report her movement.

By the time Eunuch Wang left her room, a thought suddenly came to her mind.

Gui Shan alongside all other members of the elite team had to rest for the remaining part of the day as they awaited the next day's training.

It was eventually another day. All the recruits made preparations for training that day.

Meanwhile, In the Bi's manor, Bi Yao had a lot to do. In her room, she was busy making some cakes and pastries specially for Gui Shan as this was the only thought she could come up with.

Her father with the help of the maids monitored her slowly. When Bi Yao was eventually done making the cakes, she made preparations to go for her training.

When everything was set, she decided to head for the training field. She opened the door, peeked sideways to see if her father was around that zone.

When she was sure no was there, she came out and walked towards the direction leading to the training field.

Just as eunuch Wang had planned, he cornered her from a frontal position. Bi Yao on her part was surprised that her father, came from that direction.

She was speechless as she knew her father would ask her about the basket she held in her hand.

"Good morning my daughter," Eunuch Wang said.

"Good morning father," Bi Yao replied.

"I can see you're busy about your training today. What have you got in that basket of yours," eunuch Wang asked.

"Just a few pastries. I figured out I may get exhausted later on during tbe day, so I made some Incase I'm exhausted," Bi Yao said with insincerity in her eyes.

"Good plan, this elite training of yours really consumes a lot of energy and requires strength," eunuch Wang said.

"You can go along my beautiful daughter," he said as he made way for her to pass.

Eunuch Wang deep inside him knew her true motive of making those pastries were specially for Gui Shan, but he pretended to be unaware.

He laughed in a mischievous way as he headed to the palace.

Bi Yao after walking some few distance was already at the training ground. She joined the rest of them as they awaited instructor Qing Wu.

"Good morning instructor," they all greeted as instructor Qing Wu arrived at the training point which was not far from his quarter.

"Morning students, hope your night was great?" Qing Wu said.

"Yes sir," they replied.

"Today we are going to focus on strengthening our Qing-Wang formation,"

"The task ahead of us is not an easy one, but I believe with proper training and persistence, we would scale through," Instructor Qing Wu added.

"Are we ready to give in a try?" he asked.

"Yes sir," they all replied.

"Good, you may all begin now," he said as he left the stage for them.

The recruits then split and practiced the formation accordingly. Vice-general Qing Wu on his part ensured that he gave them pointers when ever they deviated.

They practiced for hours and were eventually making progress in the formation technique. Instructor Qing Wu was impressed by their improvement, so he told them to take some rest before resuming their training.

So one by one, each of them dispersed, some took a stroll, while others sat in a corner.

Just as Gui Shan was about going a different direction, Bi Yao beckoned to him.

Gui Shan getting the signal quickly came close. She then took him to a corner to avoid getting the attention of others.

"Hi, Bi Yao. How are things going?" Gui Shan asked.

"Everything is going smooth, and you?" Bi Yao asked.

"Yesterday was indeed hectic, but I'm getting better," Gui Shan said.

"Glad to hear that. Besides, I made some cakes specially for you," Bi Yao said as she brought out her basket.

She then brought out the cakes.

"Hope you would enjoy them?" Bi Yao asked.

"Yummy... I'm already absorbed in by the aroma, can't wait to dive into them," Gui Shan said as he took them from Bi Yao.

That moment, Gui Shan started eating and enjoying the cakes. Meanwhile, Bi Yao watched him eat every bit of it with satisfaction.

"Take, join me," Gui Shan said as he playfully put some in Bi Yao's mouth.

Bi Yao opened her mouth and ate it with pleasance. One could witness the love she felt that moment.

After an hour of rest, instructor Qing Wu called them back with a whistle. They all assembled and continued training. After hours of practice, training that day came to an end.

The recruits returned to their dorms, while Hu Mei and Bi Yao returned back to the royal courts.

Bi Yao smiled happily as she returned to her room.

The next day came. Just like the previous day, Bi Yao decided to continue making pastries for Gui Shan.

So that morning, she got to work. Meanwhile, eunuch Wang had been monitoring her all this while with the help of the maids.

So as part of his scheme, he decided to poison Gui Shan to death. He saw this avenue as a good privilege.

So before now, he had handed over the poison over to the maid and instructed them to act while he distracted her daughter for some few minutes.

So while Bi Yao was already done with the cake making and was about to package them, she heard a knock on her door.

So she moved forward to confirm who it was. To her shock, it was her father. Wondering why her father was there, she shut the door and came outside to meet him.

"Good morning father," Bi Yao greeted.

"Morning daughter. How is your day going?" Eunuch Wang asked.

"It's going fine," Bi Yao said.

"I'll like to tell you something. Come let's take a stroll," Eunuch Wang said.

Bi Yao unaware of what was happening decided to follow her father. After walking some distance away from her room, eunuch Wang stopped and turned to her.

"Daughter, I always want the best for you. I feel you are not telling me some things, but if you feel Gui Shan is the right man, I wouldn't stand against it, but give you my approval," eunuch Wang said.

"Father! What are you thinking?" Bi Yao said as she shrugged.

"Okay, I won't interfere, I give you my word."

"You can go continue with whatever you were doing, I have to report at the palace immediately," he said.

Meanwhile, while eunuch Wang conversed with Bi Yao, the maid had already poisoned the cake as instructed by eunuch Wang.

Bi Yao smiled happily as she returned back to her room. As innocent as she was, she packaged the cake and took it with her as she went for training that morning.

During the break time, like the previous day, they both ate and conversed. They ate the cake with so much innocence.

After training that day, Bi Yao returned home. On that fateful evening, eunuch Wang knocked at her door enquired about Gui Shan.
