Daniella's P.O.V
It has been a long day. Trust me. A long day of walking around in heels, not that am complaining but it was long.
Keeping up an act of braveness and showing a sad face for someone who doesn't deserve it.
Almost falling, but my guardian angel rescued me before I hit the floor.
"Wow, so she is your guardian angel?" Asked my girl.
"Did I say, my guardian angel?" I asked her.
"Yeah, but let's be honest how did you feel when she held you?" She asked while chuckling.
I didn't know how to answer that. I felt a lot of emotions all at once.
My body became alive, her eyes held calmness. It was like being told everything was alright though no words came out of her mouth. I just wanted to be there for long.
"Is that why you couldn't talk?" Sue jeered before running away.
I wanted to explain to my girl that, Davids is a lot of things but I don't know how to tell her since she can read my mind and use it to mock me.
I just don't know how to talk about Davids. At one point I want her, badly! Kiss her, touch her, tell her a lot of dirty things that are pleasurable but some other times, I want to beat her up, slap her cute face and just bash her away.
My feelings are not constant, they keep on changing. They make me confused!
"Daniella let's join others for dinner," called my mother.
I just don't want to get out from my sitting place. I want to sit here and just be here my whole life.
I love the calmness that comes with a lot of people around. Seeing my mother happy and chatty with other people, seeing Vin associate himself with some other men, and me just being alone, no attention directed towards me, am okay, I just want to dance and chat with my lone self.
"Don't forget I keep you company," said my girl as she danced in my mind.
"Fuck off!" I brushed her off and walked down the stairs to the dining table.
We rarely use the extra-large dining table. Today is exceptional, we sat at the large dining table. It had two sets of tables. Each table holds twenty seats.
The plates were neatly arranged. Forks to the right, knives to the left and the plates in the middle of the fork and knives. Glasses of different types were placed in front of the tables.
"Did I tell you that we are using the red plates?"
I have never seen a dining set using red plates. We use the white plates and sometimes the gold-coated plates but the red plates, No!
I saw new faces gracing the tables. Some of them I had seen at the funeral, some I hadn't met.
The man sitting in the seat placed at the far end of the table was new, I had not seen her face. My mother was sitting next to her. On his left hand, the seat was empty I guess that was where I was supposed to seat.
I walked carefully to avoid stepping of people's gowns that we're gracing the floor.
As a good daughter, I gave my mother a peck on her cheek and she showed me where to seat.
The same place I thought I would seat.
On the other far end of the table, was Vin's father. Seated as mighty as he always is. His masculine face was timid as ever. Vin was sitting on his left hand while her mother was sitting on the right hand of her husband.
The other people around I didn't know them.
I saw the priest, Emma, my grandparents they were all at the table but the other faces were all new.
Vin quickly stood from his seat and pulled a chair for me. He kissed me on my cheeks like the good boyfriend he is before going back to his seat.
"Awww, that does sweet, how lovely?" Said Emma while looking at me.
"Thanks, Emma, I'm just being a gentleman," said Vin from the other edge of the table.
I didn't say anything, I just focused on the food that was being brought to the table. Trolleys on top of trolleys.
I looked at the elderly being served and I sat waiting for them to finish. Throwing a side glance at Vin, he was always going the same. His father was being served and he was patiently looking at him.
My phone vibrated and I picked it looking at the text discreetly.
"Behave please, I love you,"
Vin had texted. I know am not good with behaviours. I tend to misbehave everywhere.
But every time what am being reminded of is 'Behave!'
Today when I accidentally fell and Davids caught me they shouted at me and told me, " behave!"
What's with my behaviour?
I ignored the text and focused on the plate that my goof was being served.
I was eyeing the steak that other people were eating on the table. Emma was slicing her knife through it and it was just juicy. I was afraid of asking for it because I knew my mother would look at me with the eyes.
"Give her some steak," said My mother it of the blue.
"No am okay," I pretended to refuse.
"Just today baby, you need to be happy and have fun," said my mother.
I nodded and focused on my plate. The chef placed the steak beside the salad and I couldn't wait to break everyone from this steak down.
I picked my fork and dug into my food.
No one was talking, but the spoons, forks and plates Were having a serious discussion. The teeth and lips were synchronising with each other, the lips focusing on swallowing the food while the teeth wanted to chew more.
The background music was what kept me concentrated but not fully concentrated.
"Just eat and stop thinking of her," said my girl peeping from her hiding.
"Am trying to, but I can't, am still seeing her beautifully handsome face in front of me," I told her while cutting through the steak.
"Have you ever wondered that some days she might get tired and move on, you saw her flirting with Natalia," she said?
"Fu......" I wanted to shout but I closed my mouth since I realized that I was almost swearing it out loud.
"Just leave," I whispered to her in my mind and she willingly left me alone.
My girl was true, Davids will be moving on, I have been stalking her for some time now, bashing her at the school cafeteria, calling her names all that will send her away.
"No, it's okay if she goes, anyway I love Vin," I sarcastically told my girl.
Sadly she didn't come from her hiding.
"Dessert!" Announced the chef.
Our tables were cleared and the dessert was brought in.
My mother whispered something into the man seating at the top of the table and then looked at me.
"Are you going for the rehearsals tomorrow?" Asked my mother.
"What practise? She is grieving," said Emma.
The runway rehearsal was happening tomorrow. Mrs Black had chosen me and asked me to be one of the models.
I have not seen her, the invitation had to pass through my mother before I got to see it.
I don't know why my mother accepted it, but I know she has something to gain from the fashion show.
"I think I will go, instead of mopping around doing nothing," I told her.
I want to join other people outside and have some fun and I know I will meet sassy girls who would make me smile.
"Okay, I will inform Vin to take you," said my mother.
I nodded my head and focused on it.
The man sitting at the top of the table clang the glass of champagne using a spoon and everyone was silent and looked at him.
"Ladies and gentleman," he said in a commanding voice. His voice sounded strong, unlike his face. His voice was like that of a young man who is still in his youths. He might have been a good singer when he was young I have such a voice.
"We are gathered here today for the funeral of our son, Mr Brown was my son-in-law and I loved him as my son. I have saddened by his death. He was a good man, good conduct and fulfilled his promise." He paused and took a breath.
I don't know why everyone is playing well about my father. He was a rapist, I know that he knew that, but why praise him when he doesn't deserve it?
"He had left behind a wife and a lovely daughter," he paused and looked at me. I smiled at him and focus on the juice in my glass.
"I believe, that we are all here as a family and we should help them whenever they come into us for help. Don't pretend to share a meal with them right now and avoid them while they need help, agreed?" He asked and the crowd agreed.
"So here raise your glasses, whether they have wines, champagne or juice, I won't raise a glass for the new beginning for this family, cheered!" He said as he raised the glass.
"Cheers!" Responded to the crowd as they sipped their drinks.
"Don't gulp the whole glass, we have another cheer, this is to the woman, my daughter, Amanda, for being the New C.E.O of the Clanks property! Cheers," he shouted and the crowd roared with cheers as they gulped down their drink.
I looked at my mother, remember when I told you she has all this figured out? Yeah, she has it. She was smiling and happy.
"Congratulations mama," I said to her while placing my hands on top of hers.
She hugged me tearfully.
"Thanks, baby, we've got this," she said while holding my shoulder.
