🥀Happy Reading🌹
In the office, Davids was calm seated waiting for someone to walk in anytime. Though he didn't seem anxious about the person, she was still waiting up for him. She drank her tenth cup of coffee that morning and scribbled something on the notebook that was in front of her. Managing her father's business was something that she enjoyed very m much. As much as it was not an easy task to do, she promised her dad to deliver everything that is required if jer. She had managed to make a good improvement in the company. There are enough retains and most of the companies are fighting to have them sit with her in the companies. To some, they still hate her and despise who she is. They won't rest until they calm her names.
'Man with no penis, a rapist, and many more words are mostly rained on her by her rivals. All she prayed that her kids don't get affected by her life. Something she has managed to keep still in her life. Her kids are always away from the media and celebrity drama. They are always very keen when it comes to the internet. Whenever they are playing games, they use the play station and some huge television. They are also phones unless it's urgent. This made it easy for them to avoid most of this news.
Though she can make some accusations and make the people calling her names go to jail and pay her a lot of money, she didn't care about it. All she cared about, was the fact that her children are fine, she keeps in touch with everyone in the business and avoid being dramatic in her life. She avoids the spotlight ever since, so it was hard for someone to know where they are or live. That was another thing she loved about herself.
"Excuse me, someone is here to see you, I don't think we have an appointment with the person but he has insisted that it an urgent and wants to see you."
Davids quickly lifted her face and looked at the person talking in front of her. She knew she was supposed to have only one person in the important meeting. That was her dad. He was coming to help her check something in the office. The other person who was inviting himself in was someone she didn't know about.
"Ugh, jeez, can't that person wait?"
"H, Mr. Davids?"
It was the thirteen-year-old, Jade, now tuned fourteen standing at his door like an important person. The secretary spoke and begged Davids to give him a chance. This is the problem with her secretary. Whenever she sees small children, she is always smiling and wanting them to speak to Davids.
"Can you please excuse us, get us two cups of coffee and some snacks."
The secretary nodded and Jade thanked her. She asked Jade the type of tea he wanted but Davids told her to get them some coffee with one sugar each. Jade nodded though deep down he loved cream in his coffee.
"start talking, I don't have all time here, what is it that you want Jade? "
Davids was not giving the kid even a break, instead, he was lashing at him. The fact that Davids pretended to hate Jade was on another level. On Jade's feet were basketball worth a lot of money that Davids got him for his birthday. To some extent, she loved the boy because he is intelligent and focused. Though she doesn't approve of his behavior which she is well aware of. Like having a girl sneak out of his room during the birthday party and now her daughter Nimo talks about him as if he is a god.
She felt like Daniella was right, this family might be planning to steal their daughter away from Them and it was not funny. Though some children grow up and decide to follow their path to think of what is best for them. She feared that Nimo might follow a very silly path if she focuses on this young boy in front of her.
"What's, wrong with your eyes? Are your eyes red? Please don't tell me that you have been using drugs because I will put you through that wall young boy!"
"No, no I haven't been using any drugs. I don't do any drugs, it's just a silly morning allergy that has affected my eyes and now it is painful most of the time, but I have placed some eyedrop and I think it will work."
Davids breathed in a sigh of relief when she was told that it was not drugs. She was almost throwing the boy out of her office. As much as she liked him.
"I wanted to say thank you for the shoes, they fit in well."
Davids watched as Jade tried to say the words out of their mouth. As much as she didn't love showing off, she appreciated that this boy had some manners and was divided to come to say thank you though he didn't have to, it was his birthday, and he could get anything that he wanted.
"Okay, no biggie, are you done now because I have work to do."
Davids wanted to throw him out of the office because he was making the conversation awkward with his eyes. This is the point she wished all the locks could just fall on her face so that she can avoid his gaze.
"I can help, I want to spend a day with you today. I told my parents and they agreed to it. Plus it's summer and the holidays are beginning."
"I know that very well. It's not like I don't know. What do you even want to do? I don't have any summer jobs around this place. Maybe you can focus on something else."
As much as Davids wanted to throw this child out of her face today, he seemed so persistent with his request.
"You have jeans in my office and some sneakers, have some courtesy when you want to work."
"What? That is not even a thing. You are wearing crocks right now, your sneakers are neatly placed on that shelf and you are busy with your work but we know very well if you stand up from your seat, you will only be having a short with you and not any suit pants if not some shorts. Yep, me I am right?"
The secretary interrupted them holding cups of coffee and some snacks on a tray. Davids thought that it will be good to have a distraction for them, but the kid was not done. The secretly placed cream in his coffee and he smiled looking at his cup of coffee.
"So, am I going to work here today, it won't be for all of the summer. I am trying to make sure that you didn't see me as some leech who is prying on your daughter, she is my student and I am happy that she is doing a very good job. I like her like my sister. The truth is, she sacres the shit out of me sometimes when she is around me and mostly I fear that she will slap me if I try anything silly. She doesn't want to see me messing up that's one thing I like about her but in being mean and tough, that is another thing altogether."
David's laughed, choking on her tea, she couldn't believe that this boy here was afraid of Nimo. Though she frightened her sometimes and Davids feared that she might beat people up when she is older and might end up not getting a boyfriend. Watching the way Jade was frightened of her, made her happy at the same time.
"That's good so that you didn't mess her up or she will slap you. You don't want to start telling her you to love her because that's wont end up the way you want it to."
Silence prevailed and Jade cleared his throat when he was done with coffee.
"I am supposed to go to London or just say Britain. My parents think that I need to have my further education there. I wanted to tell you in advance so that you won't get mad at me when I leave. "
"What? Why would you leave? I mean who will take Nimo through her classes? She is going to cry the whole day when you are not there. How will you be cheering her on her games? Please don't tell me this is what she has been mopping on ever since she came from a sleepover?"
Jade nodded d and Davids slouched in her chair. If she say she, was heartbroken that was a lie, she felt her heart crash listening to what Jade was saying.
"I wanted to make sure that I leave her in your hands. You know she talks of how you are going to help her, though I know she is mad that I am leaving, she brags that you are the best person who can teach her what she wants."
"jeez, Jade, I played basketball for fun, not for competition, why would I even teach her? Plus she will not get everything right!"
Jade sighed and removed a paper from his pocket shining it on Davids.
"This is the plan, you will be joining us in the field from tomorrow. Make sore you have your gears. If Nimo wants to be the next superstar in the basket, I am here to make sure that happens. Please tell me that you are going to come?"
