Victory Freedom

Lotanna faced many hurdles in her life, ranging from being Orphaned at a young age,  auctioned, and abused. Yet, her spirit refused to be broken. Her will to survive was grater than her challenges and pain. Lota (short form of Lotanna) now finds herself in a place where she can only depend on herself and her abilities to survive. Within all of these crisis, Lota finds a ray of light and hope in form of a lover, Kamsy and a baby. But could it really be a ray of light and hope? Or is it just all a mirage? 

REMEMBER

After thinking about my life and thanking

God for the death of my mother, because

if she was still alive, I wouldn't have met

barrister Fred and Sade and I wouldn't have

been living the happy life that I am living

today. I stood and went downstairs to have

breakfast. When I got there, Sade wasn't

there only barrister Fred and what was

served on the table was like a feast. There

was salad grilled Turkey,  5 flavors of my

best juices, (cucumber and lemon,

pineapple and mango, orange, apple and

guava, and tamarind) baked beans, Chinese

fried rice, bacon, omelet, plantain frittata,

peppered fried snails, oysters, samosas,

and stuffed buns, and bread. These are foods

that I love and I was surprised to see them

there for breakfast. I looked at barrister Fred

and I asked " why do we have all these on

the table for breakfast?" He said "Aren't

these the food you love most? You are now

an adult, so you can have whatever you like."

Wow! I can't believe this. All these look too

good to be true. I sat, ate, and drank to my

heart's content. I ate like a glutton and

made sure I had a taste of everything on

the table. After eating I felt double my

weight because it became difficult for me

to stand. That was when I looked around

and realized Sade was not at the table with

us. " where's Sade?" I asked." Sade won't be

joining us today. she had an emergency and

had to leave very early this morning but she

will call when you arrive in the United States.

Now go get dressed so we don't miss our

flight." I bounced up the stairs back to my

room had my bath applied a little makeup

to my face and wore my clothes. I didn't

pack any clothes because barrister Fred

said I won't be needing any clothes. he said

we will go shopping when we get there. I

came downstairs and felt worried because I

didn't want to leave without seeing Sade.

She has been my mother for 4 years since I

lost my mum and she has been a very good

mum. She taught me all I know and made

me who I am right now. She has never

raised her voice at me or spanked me. I

didn't also see the maids loitering around

like they always do and all of this made me

hard and unsettling feeling within me but I

was happy. It's going to be my first time in

an aeroplane so who wouldn't be nervous

and happy at the same time. I got into the

car and we drove off. Because of the too

much food have eaten I couldn't keep my

eyes open for 5 minutes before falling a

When I finally opened my eyes I realized we

were driving through a forest and there were

others with us in the car. I was scared and

thirsty then someone handed me a bottle

of water which I drank and fell asleep again.
