Chapter 70

 Joshua could not imagine why anyone would  target his father. His father has been a very peaceful person. For the first time in Joshua's life, he is very scared of losing someone. He was not allowed to join the other doctors in the theatre because they couldn't trust him to keep his emotions in check so instead of being a doctor today, he is the patient's family.

He has had his men take the gatekeeper at his father's house into custody because the explanations that the young man was giving do not make any sense. He kept saying that the person who tried to kill his boss is a woman because of her voice but he couldn't identify the woman because she was in disguise.

"She drove to the gate and signalled for me to come. When I got close to the car, she blew something into my face and that was the last thing I remembered until I felt a hard kick on my rib sides which woke me up. The same lady who blew that substance into my face was the one who kicked me on her way out because after that kick that woke me up, I quickly ran inside to check what has happened because my instincts instantly told me that a person who came for a peaceful visit will not try to put me to sleep. My heart almost stopped when I ran into the garden and saw the boss in a pool of his blood. You can go ahead and investigate me however you want but I am not the one who shot the boss neither did I connive with anyone to do this."

Despite all the explanations that the gatekeeper has been giving, he knows that the people holding him do not have any intentions of letting him go.

Joshua let the doctors understand that he does not want the police involved in this as he wants to make personal investigations. He went into his office and called his friend on the phone to let him know what has happened.

"If this had happened to your mum, I would have said maybe she has offended someone with her words because we all know how she talks but your dad, he rarely goes out so who could he have offended? Joshua, I think you should ask yourself who you have offended because I know that your father did not offend anyone rather it might be a retaliation from someone that you have offended." 

"When was the last time I had any issues with anyone? You know me and you also know that it's been a while since I had time for any woman. Could Cherry have done this? As much as I want to suspect her of this, I don't think that she is capable of something like this? She is wicked but not stupid and I don't think that Cherry will do this when she knows that she won't be spared if she is ever found."

 As Joshua was talking on the phone, he heard a commotion outside and quickly walked out to see what was happening and unfortunately, it was Cherry who was trying to enter his office but was stopped by the security guard at the door because he has instructed them that nobody should allow her into his office if they don't want to lose their jobs.

 Immediately Cherry saw Joshua, she became teary-eyed. "Joshua, I heard of what happened to your father so I quickly ran here to check up on my father-in-law. Even though we do not like each other, it does not mean that I wish him dead. He is the father of the man I love and..." 

"Shut up Cherry! I don't want to hear more words from you. Since you know that you and my father are not in good terms, then why are you here? Go and meet your accomplice wherever she is and in whichever hospital and get out of here. I am going back into my office and  by the time I return, I do not want to see you around the premises of this hospital else you will have yourself to blame. Just pray that you have nothing to do with what happened today else I won't spare you as your case will be worse than samira's." 

 Cherry stamped her feet as she walked out of the hospital and went straight to Gomorrah to meet her friend. Immediately she walked in, she began to  look around for him but couldn't find him so she went into his room and then she saw him having sex with a lady. Cherry walked the lady out of the room immediately and her friend couldn't say anything as he began to laugh. "I guess you are in a bad mood today but you should have let me enjoy my meal first instead of leaving me hanging like this." 

 Immediately he was done talking, Cherry slammed her mouth over his and began to kiss him. The kiss was so intense that within a few seconds, her clothes were gone as her friend began to slam into her. She loved the amount of force that he was using on her and needed more as she urged him to go harder because she wanted to forget everything that has happened.

 After shooting Joshua's father, Cherry began to regret her actions as she wished that she had not done it. She also blamed herself for shooting the man on the chest instead of his head. She went to the hospital to know about his condition and also try to see if she will be allowed anywhere close to him so that if he survives, she will kill him to keep her secret before he speaks to anyone and get her in trouble. Unfortunately, Joshua did not allow her in as he kicked her out and humiliated her in the presence of his security guard and some nurses. After warning her that he prays her hands are not in what happened to his father, she became even more tensed. She never  thought that Joshua will suspect her of such a thing but now that he does, she is afraid that her secret never gets out.

Immediately Kamsy left the house and quickly headed for the hospital to meet his friend, the two adults he left behind to take care of his daughter resumed their feud.

 Amanda was still crying because she wanted to follow her father so Jasmine quickly ran and carried her as she was trying to pet the baby to be quiet. Myra came out to see her doing that as she said, "listen Jasmine, you are nothing but a maid in disguise. Taking care of other people's children is the job you signed up to do in this life and that is what you will do till the day you die. No matter how much you try taking care of this baby, you are not her mother and can never be." 

 Jasmine smiled and turned around as she said, "of course I am not her mother and just as you have said, I can never be her mother because I'm not stupid like her mother. I heard that she was so stupid that she got herself kidnapped but you as you can see, I am different. I am so different that I don't allow fools like you to ride me. I agree that I take care of people's children but what about you who willingly signed up to be a maid? Whether you believe it or not, I am the one who will end up as Amanda's stepmother and make sure that I kick you out of this house."

Myra laughed for a long time before walking closer to Jasmine and saying "dear Jasmine, how on earth do you want to become the stepmother of this baby? You and her father have never even stood and shared up to five sentences. So how do you intend on becoming her stepmother because I need to know how you can get to a man who does not see you and because he does not see you, he doesn't talk to you. You are a loser so there is no need trying to act tough as the best you can do for yourself is tuck your tail between your legs and run like the loser that you are."

"I agree that we don't talk for a long time but Myra, please look at yourself and stop deceiving yourself. You are old and I'm very sure that you might be older than he is. has it never occurred to you that trying to hook up with Kamsy is child abuse? He doesn't do sugar mummies and even if he does, not the poor ones please. I am really very sorry that ever since you had arrived here I have been very disrespectful to you my calling your name because you are way older than I am so henceforth, I will start showing my respect to you by calling you aunty Myra."

After Jasmine was done talking, she took Amanda and sat her down on her chair but she didn't expect what came next after she dropped the baby because Myra came behind her and gave her a slap. The slap was so hard that Jasmine could hear the echo of the slap resounding in her ears as she began to see tiny stars. She held onto her ears as she screamed but that was just a tactic of making Myra think that she wouldn't retaliate because the moment Myra let her guard down, Jasmine gave her a very hard punch on her nose which began to bleed immediately.

 They instantly got into a fight as they began to beat up each other and the baby who was on the chair began to laugh. The maids who were on duty that day just stood and were watching them as they agreed amongst themselves that nobody should separate them  rather they should be left alone to fight to their heart's content since that is what they've been looking for all this while as they keep quarreling almost everyday. At least after fighting and knowing who is more powerful, the less powerful one will learn to be quiet anytime the other one is talking.

 They were both tired but none of them wanted to give up first as their clothes were torn and they were bleeding from different parts of their bodies. The maids saw that if these two were left alone, they might just end up killing each other and they will be blamed for it because they were in the house so they decided to separate them. By the time the maids got in to separate them, they have torn each others clothes to the extent that their breasts and ass were exposed. One of the maids carried the baby away from there so she wouldn't see things like that since the two adults that were left to take care of her do not know that they should not fight in front of the baby.

Cherry was very tired by the time they were done having sex. All she wanted to do was rest for the moment before she resumes thinking about her problems. While she was resting, her friend who had walked out a while ago, came back and told her he had good news. She instantly became very happy as she thought the news was about Joshua's father dying but it wasn't.

"Remember the girl you asked me to look for some time ago, I recently had the time to look for her so I sent my men and guess what, she has been found. I tried reaching out to you to let you know but you weren't picking up my calls so I ordered some of my men to give her a taste of what they have between their legs. You need to hear her screaming like she was a virgin who has never had sex before." 

 This piece of news brought back some joy into Cherry's life as she smiled broadly and said "I will like to see her now."
