CHAPTER 97 EQUALLY.

After she had presented the Cheque in the bank, it was an immediate cheque. There was no need of waiting for the cheque to mature. So she was given money instantly.  She settled their 'issue' with the DCI, was impatiently waiting for her. After finishing what was stressing her the most she called her friend Eva.

She asked Eva if they can meet up, she was in need of her help.Eva asked her if she is comfortable waiting for her, since was in the middle of something important. They agreed to meet up in the hotel since Eva was already in town running some errands.Mrs Wechuli texted her the address of the hotel.

Mrs Wechuli waited for almost half an hour. She was almost giving up when she saw her coming through the hotel door. She spoke when she approached her table, where she was sitting.

 "I am glad that you came Eva, I have been waiting for you for almost an hour" she sighed then said.

"Yeah l know l kept you waiting, how have you been and my condolences for the loss of your friend's wife" She said while sitting down.

"Yeah, death is a journey where no one returns" Mrs Wechuli said while calling for the waiter.

"True, what happened to the company?l saw the news the same day you took over is the same day the company's share decreased in price.l think it happened during the party right?, Have you thought on what you want to do with it?"Eva asked.

"Yeah l have been thinking about what you told me, l though l have so.e little saving. I think your plan that you had suggested to me. I am ready to partner with you Eva" Mrs Wechuli explained.

The food that Mrs Wechuli ordered was brought for them on the table. It was roasted meat and Amarula wine. She opened it and poured into the two classes. Dished out the food in two plate and gave one to her.

Eva pretended to be scrolling on her phone, she dialled false calls as she looked at her. They were seated facing each other on a table for two.'Woow, thank you, my plan is falling in place, l can't wait to take my revenge. Your hard headedness and sanity will end here. I can't wait to make you bow to me' she thought while having an evil grin on her lips. Something that Mrs Wechuli didn't notice.

"That's so nice, l have been waiting for your answer for so long. But again you will have to wait for one week l will let you know. But don't worry everything will be fine." Eva said while sipping the wine.

"One week is not bad,l will be waiting for your response patiently. As long as you are going to give me a positive response, Eva." She coed.

She was unknowingly showing desparation infront of her. Something that Eva enjoyed seeing.

"Ofcourse the response will be positive. We have been friends for more than a decade. I won't lead you down. There is something l want to confirm with our boss, hope you understand?" Eva answered her.

In DCI office.

Two officers were seated waiting the instruction from their superior.

The DCI cleared his throat then looked at them over the brim of the optical. He positioned them then looked at them in a scrutinised way.Making them anxious and flustered.

The way he was looking at them,if looks could kill they would have been dead by now.  They shivered  violently in absolute fright. He was intentionally intimidating them.

"Hello officers," he greeted them as he rose to close the door. " What l am going to tell you, l want it to remain among us three no one should know. Are we together?"

"Yes boss" they answered in unison.

"I have a culprit who want the investigation result to be changed. I think you all know the way our government works! You have to pay for shutting up of the mouth"

The two officers fidgeted in their seat as they waited anxiously of what he had to say next.

"What l mean is, the investigation result you have should be presented as positive not negative." The DCI explained to them.

"Boss what do you mean by positive?" One of the investigation officer asked.

"Should be presented and show indeed the victim killed himself. That's what the public is going to know, and no one should open his mouth to share this news" he looked at the both of them with his pupil almost constructing out of its socket.

"Infact hand me those results for safe keeping" he stretched out his hand to pick the result from them. The one who was carrying the result in the envelope handed it to him.

He pulled his drower on his office desk. He pulled out a 'fat' envelope. He looked at them then smiled,the magnanimous criminal have decided to bribe us 1.5 million. Since we are three of us we will share equally. "Each will be taking five hundred thousand shillings." He smiled at them before opening the envelope, he pulled out two tied noted of five hundred thousand each and handed them each other.

"Thank you so much boss," they said in unison.

"You mean all these for me alone! I will surely keep my mouth shut. I will only open it when eating" the one of them joked.

"Yes boss l will keep this secret to my grave"

"You know what l will do if you dare betray me! Make sure no one see you with those notes holding them like that in your hands!" He coutioned them.

"Sure boss, we will take our leave now. Thank you for being magnanimous to us. They exited the office following each other with a wide smiles in their faces.

After the two officers have left the DCI boss pumped a fist in air as he jumped.

'Yes, l have to take the biggest share. I am not a fool to share equally. You are my surbodinates, l am the superior'
