CHAPTER 222:ARE YOU SERIOUS?

On the way to work Sammy was so happy, as he kept on smiling to himself. His good moments with Ivana started to play in his head. He tried diverting his mind from her by scrolling his mobile phone. He ended up in his gallery in the old photos of Ivana and him. He smiled and told his driver to take him home because he was too happy to go back to the office. He knew that his mind will not be in office if he goes like that, he will end up seeing Ivana in everything.

'Is this a sign that we are meant to be together or I am getting the wrong impression?' he thought as he leaned on the seat. 

'First I took her to the hospital to give birth, second she asked me to be the father of her adapted child then third she asked me to be the godfather of her baby during christening,' he counted on his head silently.

When Ivana ended their relationship uprabtly back in campus, it broke his heart in pieces. He thought that he will hate her, and will end up hurting other girls because of her. He never wished to meet her ever again, but that only happened the first month. He started missing her and their love everyday. He wanted to fight for their love but gave up when he heard that she was married. Sammy tried moving on with his life but he never got interested in any girl. 

When he got a job in Ivana's county, at first he didn't want to come because of fear of meeting Ivana again. Unfortunately for him, the second week in the county, he almost knocked Ivana with his car. That was the first encounter, he didn't know if it was a coincidence or it was by mistake.

During Lily's wedding,he had no idea that Ivana was invited. Also he didn't know that the table he chose to sit at was Ivana's selected table? The way they got along with each other that night surprised Sammy. He thought that Ivana will change her table and sit on the other one,but she didn't.

"How can you leave your wife heavily pregnant and you go in another country. You are a fool to leave your woman here. You gave her a reason to need a man. Now that I have a chance to make her fall in love again I won't hesitate. By the time you return in the country she will have forgotten about you," he murmured to himself while relaxing on the couch.

'I hope you will fall in love with me just like before, I really don't know about you, but on my side I still love you. I can't confess my love to you at this time, you might think that I am taking advantage of you. Now that you husband is not in the country,' he thought.

Back in Lagos Nigeria, Paul and Mike were done with the lectures of that day. Throughout the lecture Paul was not concentrating, his mind was thinking about his mother. He had send her to check on Ivana as they agreed, he was still waiting for a reply from her. They were both in the house Paul was bored while Mike was relaxed in the house. He have been trying to call his mother but she was not taking his calls. He have texted her several times but no reply yet.

He decided to share his problem with Mike, because problem shared is half solved.

"Mike I am very restless, I don't know if everything is okay with Ivana," he said.

"Why are you saying like that?" Mike asked as he placed his mobile phone aside to concentrate on him.

"I just feel like mum is hiding something from me, just imagine I told her the other day to visit Ivana. When she found her, she should call me so that I talk to her through mum's phone. But until now mum have not told me anything about Ivana, she just told me that she guess Ivana is fine because she didn't find her in the mansion," Paul explained.

"According to me, she is fine because, if she was not okay I guess Mish would have told me already," Mike said.

"I know how Ivana operates Mike, she is a very reserved person. She doesn't like sharing what she is going through. Despite the fact I haven't lived with her for long, to some extent I know her for the few months we were together," Paul said.

"Maybe your mother is trying to make you concentrate in school, that's why she doesn't want to tell you much about her," Mike commented.

"But remember she is my wife Mike, I need to know everything that is going on with her," Paul retaliated.

"The wife you bad-mouthed in the main stream media ? Women are the strangest people on earth. She can remember something that happened ten years ago and remind you like it's something that had just happened," Mike explained.

"I don't know how I did that to my dear Ivana I regret everything. Hope this five years will end faster I cant wait to hold in my arms and cuddle her," Paul said.

"What I can tell you right now is that try your best and concentrate on what brought you here. The first time you agreed to come here without her was your first mistake. I can't blame you on that because you failed to convice her," Mike said.

"What are you insuanating Mike? I know how mischievous you can be sometimes," Paul said.

"Okay the thing is, if your mother can't tell you about Ivana then ask Slyvia. I know you are still in touch with her. No one knows you best than your enemy,so I am very sure that Slyvia knows Ivana's whereabouts," Mike adviced.

"Are you serious right now?I am trying my best not to get close with her. I want when I go back to Kenya I make things work with my wife. That's not a solution to my problem Mike," he said as he stood and left.
