CHAPTER 237:WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

He took it immediately and smiled to himself when he saw the person that was calling. He knew that he was going to call him upon seeing his post.

"Hello buddy, how come you already a father and you didn't tell me? What is our friendship for?Why are we friends to start with?" He asked angrily.

"It's a long story buddy, stop vexing," Sammy replied jokingly.

"I am not joking Sammy we are friends, not just friends but best friend. I thought we were to share everything? I am so hungry at you," he hollored.

Sammy chuckled then said,"I know right,let me call you after I am done with the office okay. You can vent you anger after you give me time I explain to you."

"You better call me immediately after work or else I will punch you very hard when we meet,"

"It will be worthy it buddy," Sammy said while smiling then ended the call.

"So you also believed, anyway he is my son and you are my friend so I will tell you not everything. But what I want you to know," he said to himself.

Somewhere in Milimani,Bungoma county after the road show:

"Mum you won't believe it that I saw my cousin today!" John said with happiness.

The way Miss Grace looked at him it signaled that the reply won't be good or the conversation.

"What do you mean you saw your cousin today? Don't tell me that you approached him or her," Miss Grace asked  seriously.

"You mean you don't even know the gender?" John asked surprised.

"John! Miss Grace called.

"Relax mum I am the one who is narrating you my story. So today when were going for the road shows to promote the new movie. I was privileged to drive the Chairman's daughter. At first I was attracted to her, I wanted to approach her. She is so beautiful but not like my sister Ivana..

"Are you out of your mind?, how can you be attracted to your cousin John?" Miss Grace asked as she looked at him straight in the eyes.

"Mum, today was the first time I have seen her so excuse me. It's not like it's my fault so don't start pointing fingers at me," John defended himself.

"I know it's always my fault so no need to excuse yourself," she said politely.

"So, as I was saying, I wanted to approach her, but she was abit rude and full of pride. I wanted to reprimand her, but my fellow driver told me that she is the daughter to our Chairman of the company," John explained.

"I told you to stay away from that family John, you will get yourself into trouble," Miss Grace warned.

"Which trouble mum? She is my family."

"What if you have reprimanded her? do you think you will be smiling by now? You would have lost your Job," Miss Grace said.

"Mum, I was talking about my cousin not about losing the job. Even if she is full of pride I know that my sister Ivana is a good person. Do you remember our conversation in the cemetery? If I meet her next time I will introduce myself to her," John tried changing the flow of the story.

"Pride runs in that family so don't be dissapointed when she snobs you. I know she will think that you are claiming to be her brother because of money that she was left with,"Miss Grace said.

"Mum as you said earlier I am the young version of my father and maybe uncle Mukhongo. So my question is what if he meets me one day. Maybe in the corridors of the company. Do you think he won't recognize me?" John asked.

"That's why I don't want you getting close to them, neither the chairman nor that cousin of yours. Or else we are going back to Eldoret next month,"Miss Grace warned.

John chuckled then said, "You won't do that mum, I am grown up person right now. So I think I can stay here on my own. I thank God that now I have a well paying job. If you want to go back to Eldoret you will have to leave me here."

"I am sorry son but if you can't listen to me, you will have to come with me. I am the one who have raised you, so I know what I am talking about and I know what is best for you," Miss Grace said.

"Mum I think it's a high time you tell me what really happened! I don't know why you don't like going back to our home. I know maybe dad hurt you, but that doesn't mean that I should suffer or my sister should suffer for your disagreement. What happened happened, we cannot reverse that. So I am all ears please tell me what really happened?," John hollered.

Miss Grace scoffed and said, "Listen and listen to me carefully John. This is the last time you will be talking to me like this. Next time you raise a voice at me, you know what I will do to you. Something else I don't want you asking me about what happened between me and your father. It's a painful experience that I don't like to remember," Miss Grace said and stood up a d left for his bedroom.

John was left alone with tears filled in his eyes he didnt know what to do or how to understand his mother anymore. She don't want him to introduce himself to his family and again he doesn't want to tell him the oman that she has.

When Miss Grace arrived in the bedroom, she sat on the bed and wiped the tears that were flowing out of her eyes uncontrollably.

'i am sorry son but I don't want the truth hurting you, it hurts me seeing you being desparet like that. I know you are searching for a sense of belonging but hold on when my plan works everything is hoi g to be fine.
