He was trying to intimidate Rhoda, but she wanted to avoid being intimidated. So, she walked back to the kitchen, leaving Paul standing like a statue looking at the door.
“Who is she?” Gloria asked when she spotted Rhoda back in the kitchen.
“It's some random guy claiming to know ma'am Ivana,” she replied.
“Have you told him her whereabouts, hope not because ma'am Ivana has warned us about that,” Nekesa chipped in?
"Of course no, I won't dare do that,” Rhoda said.
They continued cooking, not caring about Stacy's whereabouts. What they didn't know was that Stacy have been eavesdropping on Rhoda and Paul's conversation.
So, when Rhoda ignored Paul and walked back to the kitchen. She left the house and walked outside the gate to wait for him.
Paul continued standing there, hoping that Rhoda will come back and tell him what she wants. After five minutes he gave and left the mansion contemplating what to do.
When he walked outside the gate he fumbled into Stacy who was waiting for him.
“Hello sir, are you searching for ma'am Ivana?” She asked immediately.
“Yes, do you know where she might be?” Paul asked desperately.
“We will have to do a batter trade, you give money then I will tell you where you can find her,” she said.
“Okay, no problem how much do you want before you tell me where I can find her."
“I want 100 USD," she replied.
That was very little money on Paul, it was like a drop of blood in the ocean. He hurriedly removed the wallet and fished out the money to her.
“Eeh, eeh ..sir thank you so much, sir, I heard that she lives in Alika apartment found in Milimani sir. It's thirty minutes drive from here," she said without shame.
Okay, thank you so much,” Paul said as he left hurriedly. He didn't care to ask whether what she has told him is the truth or not. He was desperate to see Ivana, his mind has nothing occupied min it. It was filled with Ivana and how she was going to react upon seeing him.
He boarded a taxi immediately and told the driver his destination. He was very anxious as the taxi maneuvered through the distance. Exactly after thirty minutes, the taxi pulled over in front of Alika's apartment gate.
It was a beautiful apartment as Paul admired it from outside, but he didn't understand why Ivana left the mansion and came to rent an apartment.
He paid the taxi driver and told him to keep the change as he hurriedly walked through the gate because it was open.
He tried his luck as he started with the first house to check if Ivana was leaving in there. He had forgotten to ask the house number, so he was to try and not to look so suspicious.
Although he was scared to the core, he had to do that. For Ivana, for his love to her, for her love.
His instincts were telling that, that was Ivana's house. He gained his courage and knocked on the door twice. He did get a reply so he decided to peep in because the four were slightly open.
Unfortunately or fortunately for him l, his eyes spotted Ivana's graduation picture on the whole. He smiled to himself as he walked in slowly and sat on the couch. He was smiling inwardly at how lucky he was going to surprise Ivana.
On the other hand, Ivana was taking a shower in his bathroom so he didn't hear the knock or a person walking into her house. She finished freshening up as today she come from work earlier.
She has planned that after taking a shower she will cook the tea for her boys before they arrive from school. The boys were used to either taking evening tea or porridge upon their arrival from school.
So after changing into something comfortable, she walked out of the bedroom oy to be startled by the presence of someone seated comfortably in her house.
She was startled as she placed her right hand on the check as inhaled deeply. She thought that her eyes were playing tricks on her so she rubbed them repeated to look at the person in front of her.
Paul was confused as he didn't expect that kind of reaction from her. He thought that Ivana is going to scream and cry tears of joy as he runs towards him for a hug.
"What are you doing here?" She asked politely still standing at the same place.
"Wow, wow wifey, I thought that you are going to be surprised, a happy surprise that I am back in the country. Is that how you are going to welcome me?" He asked although nervous but he was trying not to show it in front of Ivana.
"Why should I be surprised that you are back, okay I am surprised that instead of going to your wife, you came to my house," Ivana said.
"Which wife? You are my wife Ivana that's why I am here for you," Paul said still seated like a boss he is.
"Nokia Tikhon jk...Ivana," Ivana repeated what Paul said with her mouth twisted. First of all who gave you the address. this house and who opened the gate for you?," She asked.
"That's not important Wifey relax, the important thing is that I am here."
"Don't tell me about that, get out of my house. You are telling the wrong person. You know the right person you should be telling those words," she hollered at him.
Paul was surprised because that was the first time Ivana was raising her voice at him. He stood up from the couch and took some steps towards her before Ivana stopped him.
"Stop right there Paul don't come near me you are a despicable man, go back to Slyvia. You remember you chose her over me. I respected that so don't dare touch me!"
Iva...
"Don't dare call my name Paul, the way you are standing you know your way out," she said accompanied with hand gestures. Then walked to the kitchen.
Paul sneaked to her and hugged her from behind and even kissed her earlobe. He regretted the next second as Ivana freed herself and turned to slap him hard on his cheek.
"Go ahead and slap me, slap me again Wifey I understand that what I did hurt you. That's why I am back to apologize to you. Give me a chance to explain to you Wifey," he said as he looked directly into Ivana's eyes. It
"For five years Paul Five years, this is when you are thinking of apology. Are you out of your mouth and you think that I am going to forgive you. Go back to Slyvia because that's who you chose. I want to live my life the way I want, okay!"
"Is this the reason why you moved from the mansion and wouldn't pick up my calls ignored my text messages and all my efforts to make things work.? Is this the reason? Tell me, Ivana," Paul cried out loud.
Ivana just smiled at him she wiped her tears away then said, "I think l made the right decision Paul, l am the one to decide what to do with my life. Just get out of my house before l do something that l will regret the rest of my life."
Paul was standing like a statue gawking at his EX- wife ranting out her anger. He didn't know how to convince her or how to calm her down. He remembered that since he started dating Slyvia, she was the one who use to apologize and beg whenever he or she was wrong. It didn't matter who was wrong.
When he married Ivana he didn't get to know her well when he cheated on her for the first time. He had no idea how to deal with her. The only thing left in his mind was to confess his love to her again.
"I love you, you are the woman l vowed by the living God that l will never mistreat you, why these now? Don't l deserve the second chance?" He said as he tried moving towards her but Ivana stepped back.
"Tell me Ivana don't you love me anymore?...look at me please, look at me and tell me,l will respect your decision right now and l won't come back again, just as........"
He didn't get to finish his statement as Ivana cut him off.
"I don't want to listen to you Paul get out of my house please, you have no position to step into a house you don't pay rent. l don't want our sons to see y.....!??' Ivana stopped after realizing she had said something she was not supposed to say...
Paul's mouth gaped as he heard the word 'sons'..does he have sons with Ivana? Since when?
'Ivana you were not pregnant when I left for Nigeria some five years ago. What does she mean by our sons finding me here,' Paul thought.
"What did you say? Did I hear you right? When did we have a son?" Paul asked surprised.
"No, you got it wrong, what I meant was it's late for you to be in another woman's house, you are supposed to be in your wife's arms don't you think?" She said with an evil smile.
"Now get out of my house Paul please," she said as she walked towards the main door to open for him.
Paul was still reluctant to move, he had spent 12 hours from Nigeria to come and visit her. He didn't expect his reception to be terrific as this one.
Ivana walked towards him and pushed Paul outside the house as she slammed the door in his face. She then sat down at the door as she started weeping silently she doesn't clearly understand why she is still attracted to these man after several time of finding him cheating without apology, does her heart still wants him?
A similar thing was happening outside Paul was standing in the house veranda still contemplating if he should move or continue standing and listening to her, he was confused. He didn't know whether to go back to his hotel room or knock at the door and beg her so that he can stay in her house for only one day.
Only one day for him to make things clear between them that:she is the woman he needs in his life. He was snapped out of thought when he heard a car peeping at the gate. Inside the house, Ivana was startled by that sound because he knew that Mish and her boys are back. She come from her fashion shop very early that's why she didn't pick them up from school. She told Mish to pick them up for her because Charo her driver was to take the girls to the mansion.
Paul heard the door opening, before Ivana could open the door, Paul hide at the house pillar to have a look at the person coming in.
'So Ivana decided to get married without my knowledge?' he thought as he looked at the gate.
Ivana walked to the gate, opened it as the car drove in, and parked at the parking lot. Her cousin Mish come out and opened the back car door for the Kids to come out the Boys ran to their mother as they hugged her happily. All this time Paul was struggling to have a clear view of the boys' faces.
"Thank you for picking them up Mish," Ivana said.
"It's nothing, Anything for my nephews, "Mish replied.
Ivana turned back to her boys as she kissed them on the forehead and asked.
"How was school?"
"Mummy school is bad," Mukhwana said.
"Mummy we are always given a lot of assignments. Will you tell my teacher not to give me an assignment?" Mulongo said innocently.
Ivana just smiled at them as she held each boy's hand in either hand of hers.
