Stella was actually pleased at the outplay of things at the moment. She was beginning to have her power back. Seeing how worried and anxious he was for a settlement, she could tell that her ploy was making great impact. All they needed was time, little more time and they would be fully up with their plan. She had not seen Pablo in a while as they had so much passion between them that may just ruin the full process. He also travelled out to get some business deal done with, but of course, he had left her enough money to keep her comfortable. She was waiting for his call, as they were now being careful so as not to be taken unawares. Knowing one's enemy was one thing, and another thing was being able to overestimate your enemy which would give you an edge over them. They understood that Jay had great and reliable source for information, so they had to put safety first. She stubbed her cigarette and took a sip from her champagne glass. This was all she wanted, a very comfortable life not minding how she came upon the wealth. She layed on the bed as she needed to nap. Everything was just so perfect and she was cock sure Pablo would be pleased. As to the reason he was not ready to make her he's was another puzzle on its own but taking a look at the brighter side of the picture, she would manage just fine and maybe, just maybe someday, he would see the woman in her whom has been loving him all these years. She let herself sail smoothly to the dream world.
They were at home right now, at Anthony's place. Everyone was seated and talking seriously. Since Diego was around, they pushed talks about the funeral to much later when the only persons around were just family. Bella the subject of discussion listened with rapt attention. Her father had been filled in on their way back on what had happened to lead to the events. Although he was obviously disappointed at how gullible she was, he felt that this was a great opportunity to show her just how much he cared, supported and loved her.
Bella wanted to get rid of the pregnancy but the idea was kicked against vehemently by everyone in the room except Mike. He was the only one understanding what this might do to her and her future. Besides for how long would they keep that secret away from Jay until he finds out that his woman was pregnant, knowing how possessive he was. To this, Diego had a carefully planned solution. He wanted to send Bella out of the country where she could study and at the same time, be taken care of. According to him, he had trustworthy friends whom ran a hospital that would take her in wholeheartedly. And another assurance from him was that the mafia Lord would never be able to trace her nor disturb her. Everyone bought the idea.
"So what do you think Bella, are you willing to trust me on this one ", Diego asked her with those ever charming eyes that somehow had comfort within them. Shrugging her shoulders, she resigned to her supposed fate, she agreed. Diego gave a happy laugh like a school boy.
Bella felt tired and excused herself to go rest. Actually her heart was heavy and she needed time to process all she had just heard including the decision they had taken on her condition. She could not believe that Jay was a cold hearted mafia and did not want to loose him. She wanted to hear from him and hear him tell her the truth, so she picked up her phone and dialed him. She tried the first time, it was busy, then the second time and the third time, but all she got was that his number was unavailable. She then decided that he had blocked her, so it was all true. He had been playing with her, she dropped the phone and let the torrent of tears that had been building up flow. Jay Martins had just destroyed her. He had led her like the devil that he was, given her the forbidden fruit and left her out cold. She could not get a grip on herself.
If only she knew that he had been on phone with Stella coincidentally at that very time for her sake and the love he had for her. If only she knew that he had smashed his phone on the wall at that time, if only she knew that he had punched the wall, causing himself bruises on his knuckles, then she might not have jumped into conclusion.
