Distraction

Am starting to love this project I get to spend time with Rachael alone and get to know things about her.

We both arrive home and I take the dog inside the house.

“Mum, bro Steve is back with a dog, Lily stated.

“Really?” my mum asks turning to look at me she gazes at the dog and take it from me.

“How cute.” She said sitting on the couch stroking the dog.

“So what make you get a dog?” she asks starring at me, I watch Rachael as she walks up the stairs.

“It’s for a school project, we will have to take care of animals for a month,” I replied.

“Really that’s good, am glad to have another pet at home.” She beamed.

“Rachael is my group partner but she hates dogs,” I said relaxing on the couch.

“Then you can teach her to like a dog, this dog needs to be bathed three times a day, and given three square meals.” She muttered patting the dog.

“But mum, am too old for this stuff,” I whined.

“You will have to do it if you want your dog to be healthy.” She said removing the dog chain from his neck.

“Is he a human?” Lily ask and I support her.

“Yes is he a human?” I inquired looking at my mum.

“Yes, he is just like us the only difference is that we are high-class animals.” She said smiling from ear to ear.

“Can you guys feed my dog, when am not at home? I ask and Rachael walks down the stairs holding a book with her bare face.

“The teacher said we will take the animals to school every day to take care of them,” Rachael stated.

“Imagine a lot of animals at school it’s going to be a petting zoo,” I said and Rachael laughs for the first time. Cutely opening her mouth with her beautiful white teeth being exposed, I blush and stand up from the couch.

“Mum what are we going to eat? I ask and she smiles.

“I left some food for you and Rachael in the fridge, you can go and microwave it and eat.” She stated.

“But mum you know I don’t how to use the microwave,” I whined

“I will do it,” Rachael said dropping her books on the table.

I walk to my room and take my bath, I put on a tank top and long sports track I walk out of my room and into the kitchen.

Rachael was reading something on her phone while waiting for the microwave to finish hitting up the food. She was gorgeous the way she strokes her hair and hang it in her ear.

I walk into the kitchen and stand beside her on the counter.

“It seems you love reading,” I said and she nods and look at me.

“I love reading but I don’t know as much as you.” She stated and I smile.

“Maybe I was born a genius but trust me when I was in high school I had a private tutor here at home.”
