Conscience

He ran to Mrs. Bianca and gave her a tight hug. She was down and devastated. Her makeup was ruined.

"I am okay son." She calmed him down by stroking his back.

He disengaged from the hug  and looked at her.

"So mum, where is Grandpa now?" he asked bluntly.

"He is in the mortuary. We will have his funeral this Sunday." Mrs Bianca muttered.

"Alright, me and Rachael were just leaving for school." Steve beamed.

Mr Davis pulls Steve by the hand closer to him and whispers in his ear.

"Son I hope you have told Rachael." He whispers

"I have dad. She has accepted to go back home." He muttered.

"Okay you can go now." Mr Davis said ,walking away with Mrs Bianca, he put his hand around her shoulder and led her up the stairs.

"I have never seen your, mum, like this." Rachael muttered with her eyes never leaving Mrs Bianca as they walked up the stairs.

"Me too, but she has every right to be sad. I am sad too." Steve said Lily walked up to them and glared at them.

"Excuse me, the princess is coming through." She said, pushing Rachael out of the way.

"Small brat." Steve remarks, looking at Lily as she walks away with the driver.

"Let’s go." Steve said, stretching his hand to Rachael. She looked at his hand and blushed. Looking around.

"Wait, aren’t we forgetting something?" She inquired, holding the string of her bag.

"Oh yea the dog." He muttered, walking away from her. He walked up the stairs at a great speed.

Rachael walked out of the house and stood beside Steve’s car when she saw Mr Ray in his car from afar. He was asking someone for directions. Rachael bent down and opened the car slowly. She walked into the car and bent her head inside to avoid him seeing her.

Steve walked out with the dog and she waved him to get into the car quickly. He stood for a moment looking at her, wondering why she was in a hurry. He put the dog in the back seat and entered the car, starring at her.

"Start the car." She muttered, hitting his hand.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" he wondered.

"Drive, I will tell you on the way." She replied bluntly. Steve put on his seat belt and ignited the engine, driving away from the mansion.

"So why were you in a hurry." he asked.

"I saw my dad on the street. He was asking someone for directions." She muttered.

"You know you can’t hide forever. You will have to go back  to them tomorrow." He stated

He weirdly stared at her.

"What with the look?" she inquired.

"You are really funny, you know? You are wearing a mask and are still hiding from your father. " He remarked, laughing hard.

"Hey my conscience must have judged me. I was too scared to face him." She muttered.

"I think my parents will take care of him for you." Steve beamed.
