Niniola.

A month later.

" I' m now a student of unilag, thanks to Dayo. Few weeks ago when we came for registration, Dayo did a wonderful job, he was the one going around the campus mostly making sure everything was fine he such a wonderful man. He even took me shopping to get me clothes and enough food that I would eat at school and this cell phone with me, he got it for me, he makes sure to chat and call me everyday, he checks on me ever Saturday and last week he took me out on a dinner.

All my friends here at school thinks he's my boyfriend but I wouldn't mind him being my boyfriend, I mean am gradually falling for him, I have never had a boyfriend but I wouldn't mind him being my first boyfriend. I am even so into him that I usually awaits his call and he never dissapoints me, he calls and tells me his day at work while I tells him my day at school.

Months later

A knock on our hostel room and one of her roommate stood to go and open the door while I was eating cornflakes, all I could see was that my roommate was talking with the man at the doorpost and she turns to me. "A delivery man from jumia is here for you" she said. I drop my food on the side table and go to the doorpost.

"I didn't order anything ", I mumbled while Tracy my friend who came to get the door returned into the room.

"Hi" I greeted the delivery man

"Are you Miss Nini Omoyele?" Delivery man asked.

"Yes" he brought out a paper for me to sign which I did. Then he brought out 3 parcels for me, I thank the delivery man and I entered and close the door.I quickly sat on my bed while my room are came closer to see what's in the parcel. I quickly unwrapped the parcel and behold it was an iPhone carton, I quickly read through the carton to know which version, it was iPhone 11pro, I screamed and I quickly on it then a message pop up on the screen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, wishing you more years. And tears stream down my face, it was a tears of joy, no one had ever celebrated me on my birthday even my siblings were never celebrated, Dad has always been busy when he was alive and my step mom her business comes first. My friends were busy checking the phone front and back and then a message came on the phone I was using before the gift. "Did you like my gift"

"Like is an understatement, I love it. Thank you." I typegown, reply.quickly unwrap the second parcel, it was a beautiful backless gown silver colour and their is a note inside the box, I hope you like it, I am taking you out tonight so wear this. Then before I knew it my friends open the other parcel and it was apair of shoe and a box of jewelry and a clutch purse. I quickly typed on my old cellphone on watsapp " Thank you, am short of words. 

My phone started ringing, it waswas Dayo, Did that cloth and shoe size you? He asked

" I haven't try it on but I think it will fit, I was already trying on the shoe. "The shoe is my size" I said, how do you know my size" I asked. "It's a secret my queen" he answered. I love the purse , the jewelry , the dinner dress, the shoes and the phone, thank you. 

"You deserve it my queen" he said"I'll pick you up by 8pm, let's make your 18th year birthday a memorable one.

"Thanks" I said. He hangs up while I quickly put off my current dress that am wearing and I change into the dress Dayo bought. It was just too perfect after wearing it.

"Perfect" Tracy said" you better don't let this guy slips off your hand. I stare at her.

" Don't stare at her, it's the truth" Adedoyin said , my second roommate.

7:30pm I was set and nervous and around 8:50pm, he drove into the school premises and he parks his car and came into our hostel and I stood up to open the door when I heard a knock, it was him, he stood staring at me. " beautiful, gorgeous" he said. Then he greeted my friends. And he held out his hand shall we". I nod and I took his hand and we went to where his car was parked and he opened the passenger seat for me to enter, when he was sure I was seated he close the door and he also goes to the driver seat and starts the car and he drove out of the school premises. 

Dayo drove intinto Hilton top hotel parking lot, while he stops the car ignition and I open the door and he stops me. 

"Don't, it's your birthday, first step into adulthood you should be pampered" he said and I smiled and he comes to my side open the car door and held my hand and he closes the door and he look into my eyes smiling at me but when he saw tears about to drop from my eyes, he stopped smiling and also stops in his tracks and held my 2 hands facing me.

" What's theproblem? If you don't want to go we can go back".

"No, I'm just emotional, am overwhelmed, it's something I never thought could ever happen in my life. I mean the birthday dinner in a 5 star hotel". Then he held my cheek and smile at me. " Don't get too emotional my Queen because I have started with you with special threats, don't ruin this beautiful make up dear, let's go" we walk into the hotel then I could see chairs and well set table with few people, some discussing business while some are couple then I saw a couple with their kids at one table, the man placing food on his wife plates while the wife was attending to one of the kids and I smiles and Dayo notice and said "beautiful family, maybe one day we'll be like that"honestly I was thinking that way but didn't expect him to say that to me.I notice how much he pains attention to every little details about me. 

We were ushers into a VIP seat, well decorated area for us with a pianist sitting where the samething. and as I sat down Icould hear the pianist playing a birthday song, I got emotional and next a flower was brought to me by a waitress and I collected it and a caption was on a note " Happy birthday my queen" I looked at him and he smiled. " you like it" I said and I stood up to hug him. " I like everything, thank you " and he whisper to me "I like the one who liked everything more" I stare at him and smiled and return to my seat. 

"Pick the menu book and choose what we are eating"

" won't you order yours"

"I will eat whatever you pick" I pick the menu book and picked seafood because I always wanted to try that.

Not long waiter brought us wine and our wine was served then our food came.

I stare at the cutlery because I don't know how to use it and I was scared ofembarrassing myself. Dayo notice I wasn't eating. "What's it, you are not eating?" Dayo asked.

"Yes, the cutlery " I whispered.

"You really need to learn to be shameless in my presence, use the fork" I picked the fork and started eating" we kept discussing and laughing that I did not realise when I finished eating"

" Do you want more" Dayo asked.

"No, am full already, do you want me to start constipating " I answered laughing. "Thanks for this wonderful dinner" I said.

"Anything for my queen" Dayo said. I like the name my queen so much just wish he could make me his.

A waiter brought something covers on our table.

"Not again,am full, I don't want to eat anymore" I said.

"Just open it" I open it and behold it was a chocolate birthday cake because he knows I love chocolates, Happy birthday was written on the cake, I was so happy, then I noticed something written beside the cake,"be my girlfriend with a rose attached to it, I looked up to him and we stared at each other and he held my hand.

"You see, Nini, I have always loved you when I teach you, I didn't know how to tell because I believe you do not understand love then. Nini I promise to be a good man to you if you give me a chance, I want to have my future with you my queen". I couldn't say a word because I wanted this but I felt I was too young for him. " what do you say" he said in a soft tone. I stood up and embrace him. "Yes I will" I said as we embraced. Then I let go and he kissed me on my cheek. I cut the cake and he feed me with the cake and I did the samething. It feels so much like we've been ddating before now.
