Chapter 34

He smiled, “what if I told you I was flirting?” he leaned closer, his breath fanning my cheeks.

His proximity, caused my heart and mind to advance on autopilot, his nearness is making it nearly impossible for me to breathe.

If he closes the small distance between us, we will be kissing.

I don't find the thought as repulsing as I would have done before I met him.

He laughed bringing me out of gutter land “your face is truly priceless, wish I can capture such moments,” he looked wistfully.

His words caused me to frown as I recalled the thought I had earlier.

Blondie's words shouldn't be believed.

He likes joking even when he looks serious.

He's a player, and I can tell by the glint in his eyes, who knows exactly the numbers of the girls he's had their hearts broken.

Bet they are still coming back for more, hoping he will give them a tiny scrap of his attention.

” Shut up, you two”, Reddy grumbled.

“What's wrong with him?” Blondie asked.

 “I don't know”, I made a confused gesture.

The door to the class opened.

“Hello class, sorry for my tardiness”, a petite teacher chuckled in embarrassment.

Her red hair was tied in a ponytail, and her pink bow-shaped lips accentuated the blue hue of her eyes.

If you didn't know better, you would have mistaken her for a student.

With her innocent looking face, she can pass as a student without anyone being the wiser.

Her red hair was the first give way that she was a vampire.

Since my meeting with the princes, I've been making some observations.

Humans, like I, have either black or brown hair, Vampires have red blazing hair, and werewolves have almost bleached white-blonde hair.

The students were chatting despite a teacher being in their midst.

A great insult to the teacher, might I add?

She cleared her throat to get our attention. That worked as the students reluctantly walked or sat at their chosen seats.

“Am distinguished Miss Amara Osinachi, but you can call me miss Amara instead of those long boring names”, she smiled.

I can tell she's trying to get a rise from us, and we didn't disappoint, we laughed at that.

For some people, long names are a show of power, the higher the level you're the longer your name will be.

My dad is one of those people that like unnecessary long names, he even made it a habit to call me by my full name anytime he gets the chance.

To him, long names mean extreme power and extreme power brings fame.

I've always hated the idea of answering more than one name, sometimes I envision myself as a poor peasant with only one name to myself and a happy united family.

Where was the power in the long names when my mom was prematurely taken away from me?

Why didn't her long names protect her?

If the long names can't stop the inevitable, then it's of no use answering all those ridiculous names.

Sporadically the names we answer don't have meanings.

What good is a long name to a soldier if he ends up killed in battle?

What good is a long name to a poet if he ends up mentally unstable?
