Chapter 122

"Are you going to attend the party?", Kwofo asked the moment she was out of earshot.

Shrugging I relaxed on my bed, "only time will tell; if am opportuned I will be there. There's no big deal about it".

" Are you attending? ", I look up at Blondie who was still standing beside the door as if waiting for an order.

"Will you be there?", he asks as an answer to my questions.

"I will be there if nothing out of the ordinary comes up", that's all I can say.

We don't control out fate; a power far greater than us winds the wheel we call life.

"I will be there if you will", he gives me a goofy smile, "would be damn boring with your smile prince_cess", he teases with a wink.

My cheeks became flaming hot all of a sudden; Blondie have a way of making me perpetually red on the face.

"Does that mean you won't be there if am not attending?", my heart flared with hope; does that mean he might have a little flare of likeness for me.

"Where will the fun be if you fail to be there", he winks, "you're the reason am thinking of attending your so-called party", he turns towards the door, "since your aide is here; I have some errands to run".

"He really is whipped", Kwofo comments the moment Blondie left.

I looked at him in confusion, "what do you mean by that?",

shrugging, he stands up from his position on the bed, " it's nothing", he made to walk towards the door.

" Where are you going young man?",

" I have to get ready for class unlike a person I know who's too lazy to attend classes", he glares at me. like one those a child who refuses to take correction, " I pray not to be there when your dad finds out about your tardiness in studies".

I blow him a kiss, " I will tell him you were the one that misled me", standing up I walk towards my closet.

" I don't do such things! ", he defends himself; it's futile really, if I want him punished I can lie about him begging me to stay with him on days he didn't feel like going to class.

Who will Father believe; him or I? it's always my words against his.

"It doesn't matter how much you defend yourself Kwofo; we both know who Father will believe more. It will always be my words against yours".

He blows out an exasperated breathe, " you know what suit yourself!", he opens the door, " I hate you! ", he shouts as he bangs the door after himself.

" You know you love me! ", I shout back; laughing when I heard his not so proper comeback.

Kwofo never ceases to amuse me most times; he's like a breathe of fresh air each day.

Browsing through my clothes for the uniform I kept at the end of the rack for easy access; I took my said uniforms out, crumbling as I did so.
