I scoffed, "you two are I far from being my first kiss, I've had countless of them before you two made your appearance", I bit my lips.

" You're too much of a seductress Blacky", he pecks my head making me pout, " let's go for class before Reddy becomes worried, you know how he is where you're concerned".

" Can't we have a little more time to ourselves before we leave? ", I give him my best puppy dog eyed look, but he pretended not to see anything.

"Let's go, we don't have much time to waste", he takes my hands in his as he walks me towards class.

"I was getting worried about you two, where were you? ", Reddy asked me, not even bothering to look at Blondie.

I shrug, " Blondie was acting a bit untoward so I had to teach him a lesson or two", I smiled secretively.

" You sure had fun during your lesson teaching right? ", he gives me a knowing look, making me blush at having being caught by him.

The days flew by till it was just a day to my dreaded birthday; a day I don't even want to experience, a day I wish will pass by without me acquiring any helper's mark.

Not only am I not happy because of the mark I know will be on my skin tomorrow, am more concerned about traveling home for the week.

We're each allowed to travel home five times in a complete moon cycle, and this will be my first time traveling home.

And as much as I would have wanted to be home to see father, I can't seem to out think what he will do when I get the mark.

Will he force me to find her before I ascend the throne?

"Stop thinking too much about tomorrow", Blondie says as he flops down on the bed beside me, "you should be happy you're getting a mark tomorrow", he winks, "and the topping to the cake is you get to see our mark the same time we see yours".

" I can't help the dread I feel about this Blondie. What is I don't like her? what if she doesn't like me?", I looked at him in sadness, "Aiana sounds more a better compared to whatever stranger the gods in their bad sense of humor will pair me with", I placed my head in his shoulders.

" You don't have to be afraid of something you haven't experienced, you won't know until you face it", he turns me so am facing him, " no matter the stormy way, I and Reddy will always be there for you; we will help you navigate strange ground".

I smiled, " thank you", I gave him a shy peck on the cheeks, " for always knowing the right things to say whenever am down".

I don't think I would have survived for long in this academy without them to keep me grounded.

Blondie and Reddy are by far the greatest things to ever happen to me; they're my miracle helpers.
