Chapter 296

"I will always be your best", he winks before practically running out the room.

I smiled,

Kwofo sure know how to lighten my spirit.

We walked into the room, Kwofo closely behind me.

"I never did take you serious when you told me you will arrive before the elders", Father spoke with a smile, "this is really a first for you".

" Good morning Father", I bowed

" Good morning your highness", Kwofo equally bows.

" Morning my sons, you can rise".

i walked over to where Father's seating, and took a seat on the smaller version of his throne, while Kwofo sat on the chair meant for him, at my back.

"You're even putting on a traditional attire", Father raised a brow, " I've never seen you put on a traditional attire even when asked you do so".

I smile brightly, " I guess the Academy is finally turning me into a good son, and a great prince".

" I really love how you are son, and I wish you don't change it for anything. Be your normal loving self despite anything people may say", he playfully touched my hair, but I slapped his hands off my hair.

"You will lose my hair from it's knot", I look at him in annoyance, "do you know how long it took me to make it short and presentable to the elders?".

He shrugs, " I don't care a bit about that Buchim, you were the one who allowed it to outgrow", he looks at my hair as if contemplating how long it will take for him to cut it all.

"You better not be thinking of what I think you're thinking about", I quirk a brow up at him

He laughs, "and what do you think am thinking about son? pray tell me".

" I know you're thinking about getting the royal barber to give me a cut", I murmur in displeasure.

He widens his eyes in mock shock, "I didn't know you a now read minds. Is that what you're tt at the academy?".

i shake my head, " we were taught how to grow out hairs to be long", I smile.

" If that's the case like you said it is, why isn't Kwofo's hair as long as yours are?", he looked at me in question.

I shrug, " Kwofo is too fond of skipping hair growth classes that's why".

Before father can reply to my words, a knock was sounded on the door.

That's to tell us the elders are here.

After the third knock, the door was opened by a guard, and in walked the elders.

I watched as Father's demeanor changed from playful to serious at the speck of a minute.

The seven elders that looked more like skeletons than humans, with their long traditional yellow gown walked till they stopped at the foot of the stairs to the throne

"Your highness, great king of Ugali", the bowed to father.

" My elders those who intercedes for us", Father bows in respect, you're welcome to my humble abode. Thanks for honoring my invitation".
