Chapter 389

"Don't you dare accuse me of spurting you to fight. You were the ones who wants to fight. Kukuma go ahead and do what you want the most," I turned my face to the side.

"You're a complicated case," Lutherine sighed at last.

*

The room was filled with strained uncomfortable silence. None dared to talk, talk more of making a little noise.

Everywhere was filled with silence.

A knock was heard on the door.

"Who's that?" I called out when no one made to ask. I just can't allow the poor person out there to stand for eternity.

"My queen. The presence of the king is needed by the council of elders who are here on a matter they said urgent." The demon that was outside right away answered my question.

"Tell the elders he will be out in few minutes," I tell the Messenger.

" Thank you my queen."

I can picture him bowing as he left the door.

" What are you still doing here? didn't you hear the messenger just now?" I raised brow in question.

" I heard exactly what he said, but I can't leave you in here with him for fear he might take you from me again."

Lutherine smiled " isn't your castle protected by a wand which stops people from leaving? why are you then worried of me taking her with me?" he raised a taunting brow at Lucian..

" Am not worried bout you leaving because you won't leave if I don't give you permission to pass.

Entering my castle is far more easier than leaving. I made it so you avoid anyone commiting a crime and leaving unscathed.

What am more concerned about is Deema. If she's to willing leave with you, The wand will open to let you pass because you're the one that placed it with me.

It will recognize you as the owner the moment you walk near it."

His words made me regain a memory of when I stood outside the palace. Standing is in fact an understatement.

I was floating with Lucian as we walked round the palace crafting something with our hands.

I remember being the one to design while Lucian strengthens.

The memory made me smile.

"You remember the day don't you?" Lucian smiled "it was your first days making a spell, and you were really delighted you were able to make one with me."

Lutherine frowned " anyone that hears your words wouldn't know you two are talking only about a barrier and not something important."

Lucian ignored Lutherine " I will take you up there tomorrow if we're opportuned to do so. " He pecks me on my forehead.

" Hey!" Lutherine pushed him " why are you acting like she's yours?"he grits his teeth in anger.

"Of course she is! she's my wife," Lucian smirked "although I can't say the same for you Demon."

And like that, another part of verbal fighting began. This time instead of sitting to watch them, I rose up from the bed. Bambi and Swirly stood with me.

"Where are you going?" she asked as she swirled round me.

"To get food of course. It's obvious this headstrong males aren't going to give me nothing at all."

They will be sure to quarrel over that if am to request for food from them.

*

As I ate, the servants who were preparing food kept throwing curious glances my way. Whenever I look at them, they hastily turn their faces to the side pretending not to be looking at first.

"Can I get another helping of the food?" I asked in a bored tone, and more than three of the servants standing rushed towards me in urgency.

"My queen," one bowed before she tries to take my plate, but I stopped her.

"Why were you all looking at me just now?"

This was the reason I called out for a second helping, and nothing else.

I want to know why they thought it necessary to watch me as I eat.

" Nothing," she smiled nervously " we've been cooking ever since you came in."

Even without making use of my powers, I can tell how nervous she is but how Fast her heart is beating.

" You don't have to deny the fact because I truly saw you, " I smiled at her "I was just trying to know why you were all looking curiously at me. I mean you no harm."

She looked at me. Uncertainty flashing through her eyes at my words.

She must be weighing to check if it's better to tell me why they were looking at me, or is it better they don't tell me at all.

I looked at the other girls who were discreetly watching before, now they have their eyes towards us. Their faces filled with concern for the one they dubbed unlucky.

"Why is your hair different? " she asked at last. Her question causing the other girls to gasp in either shock or fear.

"Your hair wasn't like that of the demon royals when you lived here."

I touched my colourful strand of hair " are you doubting if am truly your queen because of my hair?" I raised a brow at her in question.

She gulped "we don't doubt you're the Queen, high Queen Deema.

Your face is still as it have been, but your hair and eyes colour is no more the same.

it makes us think something must have happened to you for you to be this drastically changed."

I touched my strand of hair " it didn't change by itself. It was changed by a demon whose hair is this exact clout,"

I smiled when I remembered exactly how my hair colour became this way.

" Oh," she sighed "I would have loved to see your real hair colour. We really love how different and beautiful the colour is."

i smiled at her words because I can't for the life of me know exactly how to make my hair return to its unusual colour which might be because of my mixed heritage.
