Ruth stopped asking Martin those numerous questions. She was still feeling pain in her legs and Martin found it hard to understand the main reason why.
" Maybe we should inform Dr. Joseph if the changes that are occuring in your body. I want to prepare more better for the interview tomorrow. I want you to shout out and surprise people. Those who thought they would look down upon you. I want you to do this for your husband or else the chief will think that you are not happy yet you are a hundred percent happy" said Martin bit worried.
" Not really Martin .I want to see my mother and only her gives me strength to cope with life" said Ruth a bit hesitantly.
" Are you sure about this? Is that what you want so that the pain in your neck reduces?" Asked Martin in disbelief as Ruth nodded her head.
He immediately asked Lady Akeshia to go and ensure that Naomi comes to the closed gates no matter what had happened. He already knew that Naomi never wanted to come back their to her own things which she believed was her own myths and misconception.
In a jiffy, Lady Akeshia came back accompanied by Naomi which astonished Martin who was still in his study. He requested to see Naomi before she went to see Ruth.
" Those new things that you tell you daughter will ruin you instead. Your daughter does not really deserve to hear anything about Magdalene Chambers. It will break her heart. I love her extraordinarily. They call it obsession and I believe that you know what that means" said Martin angrily.
Naomi was silent throughout which made Martin to signall for her to leave. She went straight to Ruth's room.
" Mother! Mother! How good of you to come? I still feel pain in my legs, please help me mother . You used to treat me when I was a child. Please do as the way you used to do now mother. I need to feel fine. Sing for me your melodious songs. There one last thing that bothers me. You said that you won't come back here. Why did you come back? Did anyone threaten you?" Said Ruth out of curiosity.
" None that I can think of. My mind seems to be fully occupied by all of you. How are you doing? Martin is a good husband and as such I know that you have learnt to trust him entirely. Let me sing for you" said Naomi with mixed emotions.
She wanted to remain silent but knew that it would hurt Ruth if she did not speak anything.
" Amaizing grace.
How sweet the sound
That saveda wreath like me
I one was lost
But now am found
Was blind but now I see"
Naomi sang but realized that the song did not really sooth Ruth. She wanted something different. Something that was out of the ordinary. A song that would not only gladen her heart but make her forget everything she has know ever since she was born.
" If love was real
I would love to feel
I would cross the bridge
Because the cold is fridge
Sing to me that melodious song
Dance with me as if I am never wrong
I want to feel your every kind of song
Till my last breathe when everything is gone"
Naomi sang closing her eyes but as soon she opened , she was surprised to see that Ruth was already sleeping but kept smiling. She gave her a peck and left the closed gates.
She just wanted her daughter to be at peace. She did not want to continue stressing her daughter.
" I am leaving Mr. Martin. My daughter is already asleep. You know what, she likes it when someone sings for her whenever she's heartbroken. In order for your bond to be stronger, sing for her with a sweet melodious voice" said Naomi as she left.
She said this since she did not want to come back to the closed gates. Martin signalled her to leave as he went to check on his wife who was already asleep. He smiled as he left the place.
He realized that had been a long time since he bonded with his child Purist. He felt bad that he had forbidden her from seeing Ruth. He immediately went to her playground chamber where Purist used to play. It was something she often did when she felt lonely.
" Apple, I hope that you are fine. I understand that you are angry with Papa. Please forgive Papa. Talk to me, my darling" said Martin as he tried to pursuade Purist.
Purist hardly responded to him . She continued playing with her toys. This was so sad for him. His own daughter silent towards him. It was so sad since he could hardly punish his own daughter.
Or maybe he would.
