CHAPTER 41

Ruth who had been seated by the window watched Haggai pass then smiled.

But why was that bound to happen?

Purist woke up quitely and went straight to Ruth's room. She found out that Ruth was still seated by the window. She went quickly and hugged her astonished.

" Purist! Why haven't you changed into your uniform? What is the problem with you. Change into your uniform. Let Lady Nana help you. From now on you have to stick to your standard and league because I am your mother. I am not like the other people who would just get hurt like that. Your mother is telling you to go and change into your uniform" said Ruth who signalled Purist to leave the room.

Purist left the room astonished. She went back to her room and found Lady Nana already preparing a bath for her. She immediately changed into her bath towel after the long shock and agony she had received at the room.

Tears began welling down her eyes.

" What is it? Why do you look so dull my dear child?" Asked Lady Nana out of curiosity.

" I look so dull because mama is not happy with me. It's my fault that Papa beat her up yesterday. I wanted to share the meal with mama and the other servants as well. I did not know that it would make Papa angry. Now mama is angry with me too. She does not want anything to do with me" said Purist crying.

Ruth who had been listening by the door decided to enter.

" Lady Nana! Leave everything to me. I will wash my baby. It's been long since we had a mother daughter bond. And one more thing Purist, the fact that I sent you away from the room does not mean that I am angry with you. You of all people know how much I love you. Please do not let it upon yourself to think of this as the worst thing. You just know how much I do love you so much " said Ruth who led her to the shower.

Sge assisted Purist to take a bath as she sang for her. She knew that her songs would amaze Purist. Purist kept nodding her head to the tunes of the songs. After she findhed bathing her, she assisted Purist to put on her uniform and led her to the dining. She went to the kitchen and found out that Lady Akeshia had already prepared for her something to eat. She served her and sat beside her helping her where necessary. Purist was amazed by everything. She now knew that Ruth was not angry with her.

Ruth therefore escorted her to the car where Martin was already seated waiting for Purist.

" Goodbye mama. I love you so much. Thankyou so much for preparing me to go to school today" Martin who overheard Purist shouting while waving at Ruth was surprised.

He slid the glinding door of the car and looked at Ruth but did not say anything. As soon as Purist entered the car, he drove off.
