CHAPTER 45

Before they could finish, Lady Akeshia locked on the door. She was signaled to enter. 

" The lights in the cell of hell just turned green three times. It means that three people will be released today. I just came to inform you Sir Martin" said Lady Akeshia a bit tensed. 

She was tensed since she was kept in the dark and did not really understand what was really going on.

Both Ruth and Martin left , accompanied by Lady Akeshia. It was a thing which had never happened before. Nobody in the cell of hell has ever been released, the often stayed there for the rest of their lives till they died. All the people in the closer gates were eager to know those who had been released. Martin was surprised to find out that it was Tere and his son to together with Mrs. Magdalene. 

He nodded his head in disbelief. He remembered how he had mishandled his wife once he found out that Junior was not his son. It was too painful to him. He spent many days mourning to that misfortune. He cried all night with no single resolution till he decided to send Tere and Junior to the cell of hell.

" I am back dear husband" said Tere laughing annoyingly. 

She immediately went to the mansion accompanied by Akeshia who used to be her hand maid before she went to the cell of hell. Tere was surprised to find out that the house was full of Ruth's pictures. She wanted to throw them one by one but Martin immediately stopped her. 

" You are no wife for me. You do not have any right to touch anything in this house. Lady Akeshia, please go beside Ruth" ordered Martin angrily. 

Tere cried nodding her head in disbelief. Haggai who had heard the news from other people at the closer gates immediately came to confirm if indeed it was true. He was surprised to find out that it was indeed the truth. He kept feeling his heart as he came closer to the mansion.

Tere immediately got tensed when she saw Haggai. 

" Why do you despise me so much Martin? You have also cheated on me with Ruth. What difference does it make to the both of us? There is no difference" said Tere who was trying to defend herself. 

Tere could not stop looking at Haggai filled with lots of fear. 

" There is a big difference. Ruth is my wife and I did marry her the right way it was supposed to me. I paid her bride price and that made her my humble wife. I love Ruth . Prepare for her the guest room Lady Nana. Her clothes will follow her there" Martin ordered. 

"  You even put off my pictures .You will regret this Martin. You will regret having never paid any attention to me. You will regret for all the things you have done to me. You and this child you call a wife" said Tere who left to the guest room accompanied by Lady Nana .

Magdalene who had been released immediately entered the mansion. Ruth went to usher her in. She already had the knowledge that Magdalene was her grandmother but had no idea why she was sent to the cell of hell . Nobody ever gave her the correct information to that . She always felt left out . She felt that nobody ever cared about her. She felt out of place. 

Ruth ordered Lady Ruby to get her something to eat . Magdalene kept smiling as she was pleased with the situation. Ruth was surprised to find out that she indeed looked alike with her grandmother. It was sonething that she did not really expect to happen. It was a surprise to her. 

" I knew you were this kind my granddaughter. Thank you for welcoming into your matrimonial home. I shall forever be indented to you" said Magdalene smiling. 

" Grandma! Can I ask you a question?" Asked Ruth as Magdalene nodded her head smiling even though she had no idea what the question was all about. 

" What is it my granddaughter? Tell me everything you want to ask me. But do ask me one question. Do not ask me if I am a witch like the way people do say because I will place a curse on you immediately .I have already warned you .

" Why did they declare the verdict that you should go to the cell of hell? Mama never told me that I had a grandma till I came here and found out that everything was the truth . I was surprised too grandma. At first I never believed that all this was the truth" asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity. 

Ruth had a lot of questions in her mind. She did not want to believe what people said about her grandma. 

" Because of your mother, I had to take all the blame for her sibs and go to the cell of hell but now I am back. I am back to take everything that belongs to me. I am back to take mansion"

" What do you mean by that grandmother Magdalene?"

" I am the owner of the closer gates and I am the one who started the cell of hell . I took myself there immediately I found out that your mother had committed an offence. Yet she abandoned me there for sixteen good years. I will never forgive her for that. I am here to take what is mine. I am here to take back my mansion and my people"

" Your people"

" Yes! I bought them all up an I am glad that they have been pro-creating till now. It's a huge step in this place" said Magdalene smiling. 

Martin who had been listening to their conversation left the dining room angrily. He went to the study and locked himself up there. He could not believe that all his priviledged were going to be taken away. 

Ruth kept wondering what her grandmother meant. Was it true that she bought everybody at the closer gates? That meant she had a lot of fortunes.
