CHAPTER 53

As soon as Naomi left, Ruth escorted Purist to her room. She therefore left her under the care of lady Ruby since lady Nana was not around. Ruth had sent her to secretly take some packed food to Tere who was now a beggar. 

As much as they had misunderstandings, Ruth still cared for her and was ready to put their differences aside since Tere was still Purist's mother. 

Ruth therefore went to her matrimonial room and found Martin crying. 

" Are you finally prepared to go to school? Or maybe you have forgotten that you are supposed to start school tomorrow" said Martin. 

Ruth was astonished. Everything happened so fast to an extent that she had forgotten that she needed to go to school . 

" Yes Martin. I am prepared to go to school since you promised me that nobody will bully me in that school, therefore I do believe that it will be so as we agreed. I don't think I lack anything. What do you have for my grandmother Magdalene?"

" I plan to hand over the power of the closer gates back to her. We are both aware that she is the one who has been running the judgements in the cell of hell . She is the one that made the cell of hell . If she gets back her sit as the queen then you will sit in her throne as the princess . My family will he useless in your eyes .I know that you will no longer care for us" said Martin who stood far away from Ruth. 

Ruth shook her head in disbelief. 

How could he think so? 

Had he no idea of how much Ruth loved him?

Did he not know to what extent Ruth was ready to protect this family that they had built? 

" No Martin. You and Purist are my family and I believe that you should not take all of this to such extents. You are my greatest family I believe so. I know that I have never been that open to you. I know that you think I do not love you Martin but I do . I love you so much.......I love you with all of my heart" said Ruth as she went closer to Martin and hugged him. 

Martin pushed her away which really hurt Ruth. She fell on the floor and began to cry. It at that point that Martin realized that Ruth indeed loved her. 

Martin moved closer to her and sympathizes with her. He knew that he had hurt her feelings and yet he loved her too. 

" If you indeed love me. Why have you never opened up to me? Why have I never felt it Ruth? Why have I always felt as if the only thing you cared about was yourself, my daughter Purist and your family?" Asked Martin filled with lots of curiosity. 

" Is that what you are thinking? Are you thinking that I don't love you Martin? I loved you from the very beginning when I told chief that I wanted this marriage. When I agreed to go to school inorder to please you. I loved you I was just not used to this kind of love life" said Ruth who held Martin's arms tightly. 

Martin was astonished by everything that Ruth told him . He did not really expect to hear that from her. It was a great shock to him. How could he? He loved and cherished Ruth like nothing else in the world. 

" Then you have to prove it to me . You have to prove to me that you indeed love me. You have to prove to me that you indeed care for me. Do you understand what I am trying to say?"

" No Martin. What do I have to prove? Do I have to prove my love for you? Is that what you want ? Is that what you really want? So you still don't trust me" Said Ruth angrily .

" Why ? I do trust you very much but I am still concerned in you and everything else. Why would you confess about everything now? Is it because you feel you will loose both me and Purist......"

" Yes Martin! That's it. I think I will loose both of you once my grandmother takes over the closer gates. I know you do understand how much I do love her and care for her. And I love you both too .I love Tere too that is why I have been over food to her at the beggars station"

" You have been what.........?"

" Yes Martin. I have been taking food to her so that she will not beg that much. I do understand what it feels to be a beggar and having a little child beside you who needs you to feed him everyday"

" Which child? That child of betrayal whom till now she has refused to tell me who the father is. I will never forgive her for that. I will never forgive her for lying to me about the father of her son till the day she will tell me who the father is. That will be the day that I will at least try to indeed forgive"

" I did not know that she did that to you Martin. What she did is beyond me? Maybe I should not be too good to her. Maybe I should not dedicate my entire life to her. Maybe I should be more open to her then it will be indeed a good thing" said Ruth as she tried to console Martin.

Lady Akeshia finally entered. She informed Martin that the wedding outfit he had ordered had just arrived. Ruth was surprised to hear that. 

What wedding outfit?

Is a wedding bound to happen? 

Martin seemed surprised too since he had not ordered for any wedding outfit. 

Whose plan could this have been?

Was it Tere's plan before she was considered as an outcast in the mansion?

Was it Magdalene's plan to ruin that marriage?

Everybody had a motive to do that but only one person was guilty.
