CHAPTER 71
Who was brave enough to shoot the mother of a sixteen year old girl?
That person must have not know what he or she was doing.
They arrived in the infimary and Naomi was immediately taken to the operation room which was locked as soon as all the doctors entered. Ruth sat in the floor crying. She had been felt so traumatized in her life. She was in pain in such a way that she forgot to tell her mother what was happening.
After a long time of waiting, a doctor came out of the operation room. He seemed tensed as if what he was going to say would be so terrifying.
" We tried everything we could but she didn't make it" said the doctor.
Everybody was in a moment of shock. Ruth was silent. She didn't say anything till ske stood up and ran outside the hospital. Martin who had already got wind of the matter decided to follow Ruth who wouldn't stop running.
Martin ran towards her and made sure that Ruth did not go any further. He held Ruth so tightly in his chest.
" What! You think you are gonna do this. My mother is gone and I have no idea of the person who would have the willingness to do this to her. I can't blame Faith since Faith had been in a comma all this while. Leave me alone Martin. I need sometime to be alone" said Ruth who pushed Martin and ran away.
Martin watched her run and decided not to follow Ruth anymore.
He knew that it was traumatizing for her watching Naomi her mother being shot like that. She had never had such an experience. Martin returned back to the hospital. He found everybody smiling once again.
What?
People were smiling at funeral!
He moved closer to the public. Those who have heard the news like Akeshia and Lady Ruby came to the hospital.
Lady Ruby felt pity for Ruth. She remembered all the sacrifices that Ruth had done for her. Even Martin had no choice than to get involved in that sacrifice all because of Ruth.
" Why is everybody in a good mood? Is this what you all wanted ? That Naomi should die? How can you people be so hearthless? What wrong has Naomi ever done to all of you?" Asked Martin angrily.
He felt that that scenario of laughing at a funeral was a total mockery. Unless they were all pretending to have liked the lady.
" You do not understand Martin. My daughter Naomi's heart just started beating effortlessly as if she thoroughly wants to come back to life and beat up someone who had offended her" said Magdalene smiling.
Martin was shocked. He had never heard of such a thing happen again.
How could someone rise up from the dead?
I think that is the unique thing that Naomi had made for the day. Only her misery was enough to make people busy Wwith a disturbed mind.
What?
He just let Ruth go. How could she get the good news that Naomi had return back to life?
Martin left immediately. He guessed where he could find Ruth. It was important for Ruth to get the news so that she could not be disturbed emotionally.
He went into the field. It was Five hundred metres from the hospital. He searched for Ruth everywhere but did not find her anywhere.
He decided that he could turn and leave since there was no more thing he was doing there.
Before he could turn, he heard the voice of someone crying. He tried to find out where the voice was coming from till he found Ruth. She had been hideen by the tall grasses on the field since she was lying on them.
" What do you want? My mother is dead. I don't want to accept it. I don't want to watch them take her body to the morgue. I wonder why such a thing had to happen. Before all this happened we were happy. We had a lot of dreams in our lives" shouted Ruth at Martin crying.
" You can still fulfill those dreams. I know that you and your mother were planning to go back to your hometown and return everything I paid for your bride price. Do not worry my dear since that will still happen. You mother is going to fulfill all the dreams that the both of you had planned while you were still at the hospital" said Martin.
" You! You have never stopped mocking me. I know for a fact that my mother cannot fulfill those dreams any longer because she is dead. The doctor confirmed that himself and I am not crazy too" shouted Ruth who wanted to leave.
" You must......." Said Martin but Ruth suddenly interrupted.
" Enough Martin . I don't want to hear this any longer. I no longer want you to mock me about my mother's death" said Ruth who wanted to leave the place but Martin stopped her by holding her arm tightly.
Ruth yelled out a scream and when she realized that nobody could hear her and help her get away from Martin, she began to cry.
" You must understand me that your mother is alive. I will not let you go till you understand this . You must go back to your mother and take care of her just like the way she took care of you while you were still at the hospital" said Martin who carried Ruth forcefully to the hospital.
He led Ruth to the waiting room and Ruth was astonished to find everybody smiling and had not yet believed the fact that her own mother was still alive.
She immediately looked at them angrily.
" Ruth! Come my granddaughter. Naomi is still weak and none of us is allowed to see her right now. We are glad that she came back to life and had not been taken to the morgue" said Magdalene smiling.
Ruth was about to nod her head in disagreement when the doctor arrived. She turned towards the doctor. She wanted to hear it straight from the doctor that her mother was indeed alive.
" She is still resting. Until tomorrow is when she will start receiving guests but one person must stay in the room to take care of her. This is a miracle which I have never heard has happened in another hospital" said the doctor.
" I will be the one to take care of my mother. I will spend the whole night with her. You all just go back home and rest . I will explain to you what exactly happens later on" said the Ruth who was still in disbelief.
Everybody in the waiting room nodded their head in agreement. The doctor therefore left . Ruth ordered for Magdalene and Ruby to be taken back home. She did not want Magdalene to strain as much since she was getting older.
Ruth went to Naomi's room. She found her still unconscious.
This incident had made Martin to forget to tell everyone that Faith had just woken up from a comma. How could he say this? Everybody was just thinking about Naomi's affair and the fact that she was in a critical condition.
Martin still entered the room to check on Naomi. He was amazed at the fact that Naomi was just resting and had not been taken to the morgue.
" Tell me what exactly happened. How could have Naomi been shot? Did you see the person who tried to shoot Naomi?" Asked Martin filled with lots of curiosity.
" Listen Martin. We arrived at the closer gates and everybody were amazed by the fact that we were coming back home . They all started dancing and singing as they sorrounded the car. We decided to let them air out their expression for a few hours and decided to left the car . All the people at the closer gates followed us as they were singing and dancing. My mother and I held each other's arms as we directed ourselves to the mansion. But before we could reach, I heard gunshots and the next thing I saw was my mother lying down in a pool of blood " Said Ruth crying.
She knew that Martin would help. She knew that Martin would help her to find the person who tried to kill her own mother.
" I will take the matter into consideration. I will do my best to investigate who did this. That person must be punished severly. Cell of hell will not be the only place that that person will go to. I will make sure I have sent him or her to court then take them to jail " said Martin angrily.
" Please do so Martin. Once you find the person, inform me at once. Let me be the one to take the decision of what I am going to do with the person. I love you Martin" said Ruth as she leaned on Martin's shoulders.
She felt so bitter.
Maybe of she found the real murderer, then she would definitely kill him or her.
