Ruth did this in order to divert the subject matter. She did not want to apologize to Magdalene because according to her, Magdalene might have done it. 

Ruth did not manage to divert Naomi's mind elsewhere. Naomi still felt bad at how Ruth had doubted Magdalene. Magdalene was her mother and there is no way that she would want to hurt Naomi. 

" Just go and apologize to your grandma. I won't be able to rest easy today if you don't do that. I want her to spend time with me in here too. We have a lot to talk about as a family" said Naomi. 

Ruth nodded her head and left the room. She still did not have the urge to apologize to Magdalene. But what could she do? It's what Naomi wanted and she could not go against Naomi. Ruth went and sat close to Magdalene. 

" Grandma! I deeply apologise for everything. I didn't mean to hit on you back then. You really need to forgive me grandma. Mom needs you there. She needs you to look after her over there . Please.....grandma" said Ruth crying. 

" It's okay Ruth. I can forgive you for everything but I can't forgive you for doubting me as your grandmother. I know my daughter needs me. I just wanted you to be kind and apologise to me. Let's go" said Magdalene smiling.

" Please go grandma, I will be right back. I just need to to the cafeteria and have some coffee grandma" said Ruth who left. 

She went into one of the public washrooms and wiped her tears. She did this out of pretence.  

' I wouldn't apologise to you till you confess all the secrets that you have against this family' thought Ruth in her heart. 

She immediately washed her face, wiped it using her handkerchief and left the washrooms. She did not want Naomi and Magdalene to wonder why her eyes suddenly turned to red. She looked at both of them and put a fake smile on her face. 

" Mama! Grandma! I am glad that my family is now complete. Now I know my mother will get well when my grandma is around" said Ruth smiling. 

Martin entered and signalled Ruth to go out. Ruth obidiently followed him. She felt she needed someone to talk and still trusted Martin which was the main thing that her mother Naomi was trying to avoid. 

" Martin! I don't want to suspect my grandma for shooting mum but something inside me tells me she did it. I don't know what to do and yet I do not want to hurt mum" said Ruth a bit tensed. 

" I don't think Magdalene did it. The person who did this is a person you have to settle scores with and that person is not Magdalene. That person is somebody you won't find soon because he or she has choosen to keep it hidden" said Martin. 

This drove Ruth's attention away from Magdalene's thoughts of killing Naomi. She stopped thinking about that. She knew she would hurt herself if she continued to think so. 

" Come back Ruth. I think your mother can't do without you" said Magdalene who held Ruth's arm and led her inside. 

It turned out that it was not only Naomi who wanted to separate the marriage between Martin and Ruth but also Magdalene. Naomi wanted to do it for the sake of her daughter but Magdalene was doing it just for her sake. 

" Mom! You can't do without me. I thought grandma was giving you enough company. I still wonder why you did not want me to tell Dad about this misery that we had" Ruth was still filled with so much curiosity. 

Ruth wondered why Naomi had made such a decision. 

" I just want to protect them Ruth. I don't want them to get involved to this misery . I do not want my killers to target them. I want it just to be us. I am sure that we will be able to fight this on our own. I do not want to involve your siblings in this" said Naomi filled with lots of worries. 

" I understand what you are trying to say mama. We do not have to involve in this since we don not really know who shot. I want to do something mama. I want to go to the morgue and look at Rodgers's body for just one last minute before they take him to his hometown and burry him for once and for all" said Ruth a bit hesitant. 

Ruth knew that Magdalene and Naomi would not have liked the idea. 

" Listen Ruth. I know you blame yourself for everything that has happened but you do not have. You did not ask Faith to kidnap you and take you to Rodgers" said Magdalene. 

" But I still want to see his body grandma. Rodgers did so many harm to me but yet he was still a good friend to me. I loved Rodgers and cherished Rodgers the most. I just want to pay my last respects to him" said Ruth . 

Magdalene and Naomi had no choice than to agree to her plans. They agreed to go on a condition that Magdalene would accompany her. 

They both left to the morgue. It was just inside the hospital and so they arrived faster than expected. Ruth was shown where Rodgers' body was. There was a woman who was still identifying his body. The woman kept crying. Ruth had never seen that woman before but yet had an idea that she might had known the woman from long time. 

She went and tried to turn the woman's face but the woman refused to look at her till Ruth removed the cake from her face. 

" Tere! What are you doing here? Did you know Rodgers?" Said Ruth who was still shocked. 

" You want to know the whole truth. No! Today is not the right time to do this. You can see his body and help me grieve. I am leaving" said Tere who left. 

Magdalene and Ruth kept wondering what Tere meant. Why was Tere there? Was there any connection between Tere and Rodgers? That's not what she came to do. She came to grieve her long time and childhood friend Rodgers .

Seeing his helpless body made her shed more tears. She had never gone through such kind of pain. She had never lost someone who meant so dearly to her. 

Magdalene comforted Ruth who could not stop crying. She knew that what Ruth needed was someone to open up to and lean on. Magdalene took her to the cafeteria and bought for her coffee. 

" I still can't believe he is gone grandma. He did so many things to me when I was young. He didn't deserve to be the one to die in that accident" said Ruth but before she could take a sip of coffee, she saw Tere again. 

 She wanted to approach her but Magdalene refused. She was a woman who never liked to involve herself in any kind of trouble. She never liked trouble and that's why she wanted all the troubles to end soon. 

" I do understand how you feel Ruth. I just do not want us to create more trouble. It is enough that Rodgers is gone. What we should do now is to focus on your mother's recovery . I promise you that this won't be the end. I promise you that I will make the person who has done this to pay" said Magdalene. 

" It's understood grandma . It's understood that we should focus on grandma. But I do think that Tere did it . I think that it was Tere who wanted to murder my mother" said Ruth as Magdalene nodded her head in agreement. 

Ruth drank her coffee as she looked at Tere filled with lots of anger. 

What did she ever did to her?

She never told Martin to marry her. It was Martin who liked her first and her father agreed to it. Ruth now had learnt the truth that her father George did all this for the sake of wealth. He only wanted to be respected and feared on his community and nothing else. 

This still could not have explained why he did this to Ruth. 

" Since you are done with the coffee , let's go back to the room. I am sure that your mother might have missed us already" said Magdalene smiling. 

" Yes grandma. Let's go to mommy" said Ruth. 

They both left to the hospital room but they had no idea that somebody else was following them . And that person might had been the one who tried to kill Naomi. Who was this person? Their world became so strange to detect. Everything became tough to understand. 

That was how it felt to be......
