CHAPTER 102
Ruth decided to hug Faith back in order not to create suspicions.
" Well! I am alright and you can all just go home. I don't like it when you hang around the hospital. Please start the journey of looking for Purist. The doctor said that I will be fine soon and I am glad that the private nurse I was hired for is taking good care of me" said Faith smiling.
" Are you sure?" Asked Ruth a bit worried.
" Yes! I am sure. Please go" said Faith.
" Take good care of yourself" said Ruth smiling.
Ruth and Ryan immediately left the hospital. Ruth could not stop wondering the main reason why Faith did not want her to stay at the ward in order to take care of her. She decided to go back and ask Faith all the numerous questions that she had but this time she was not accompanied by Ryan. Ryan was seated on the car waiting for her. Ruth entered the ward and was astonished to find Tere nursing Faith. She went towards get and pushed her away.
" Is this the reason why you have been saying that you have a private nurse and you do not need me to take care of you? Since when did we start keeping secrets from each other Faith. Why are you siding with her?" Asked Ruth angrily.
" I am not siding with her. I was also astonished when I found out that she was the one who has been hired as my private nurse. That is the main reason why I did not want you to stay behind" said Faith in a pellucid voice.
Tere clapped her hands as she laughed annoyingly. She went towards Faith and gave her the drugs as per the way they were administered by the doctor.
" Are the two of lovely friends now loosing trust on each other? I warned the both of you not to look for Purist. Now you are going to suffer the consequences of my wrath. Surprised! I know. I know that you are surprised to because I happen to be Faith's private nurse and you both can do nothing about it" said Tere but she was astonished to find out that Ryan had been listening to her all this while.
" But I can do something. I can throw you out of this town for good. Are you surprised to see me too? As I was out there, I asked why Ruth wanted to go back to the ward and I decided to follow her in order to find out what the main problem was. That was why I decided to come back only to find you here. I have been listening to your conversation for a long while and I can feel you mean no good. Get out of this hospital and out of this town if you really care about yourself" shouted Ryan at Tere angrily.
Tere silently left the ward. Ryan left the ward too and went to have a conversation with the doctor. He warned the doctor not to higher unqualified cases or else he would send him over to mambo cell. At that point, a new nurse was brought and Ryan personally took the nurse to Faith's ward. As soon as they ensured that Faith was safe, they decided to leave.
They had no idea that the new nurse was paid by Tere to work for her as a private nurse to Faith.
" Patient! I am nurse Peninah. How is Tere?" Asked Nurse Peninah.
" What do you mean? How do you know Tere?" Faith asked the nurse hesitantly.
" She is my boss and I am here only because of her influence with the doctor. Why are you surprised? I am worse than her and very soon there will be a burial ceremony of Faith Tupfer" said the nurse laughing annoyingly.
Ruth and Ryan who were listening by the door decided to enter. Nurse Peninah pretended that she was clearing the utensils that Faith had used for breakfast. She had no idea that Ruth and Ryan had listened to what she was saying.
" What about you burial ceremony nurse Peninah? What if yours will be the first one? I had doubts about you that's why I pretended that I had already left so that I could be able to know the kind of person that you are. You are fired! I cannot let you be the one to take care of my sister" said Ruth angrily.
" Why? Do you have enough prove to support your statement?" Asked Nurse Peninah.
" Whether I have evidence or not I will not allow you to take care of my sister. Faith means a lot to me and anybody who messes with her life will have to pay dearly. Do you understand me?" Asked Ruth.
" Does it mean that you can go to an extent of killing that person?" Asked Nurse Peninah suspiciously.
" Even more than than that. I can cut your body into pieces then fry it up and sell it to vagabonds out there who do not know the taste of beef and mutton"
" Are you not afraid of death or killing someone?"
" No! I am not afraid of death or killing someone" Ruth shouted at Nurse Peninah.
" Then go ahead and tell the doctor. I do not even really care if I loose this job. He has always paid a low ammount of salary you might even think that we are caretakers" said Nurse Peninah who left the ward.
Ryan and Ruth therefore resoluted that they would take care of Faith at home. They felt that the doctor was not experienced and confronting him would be wastage of time. Ryan immediately hired an ambulance to escort Faith home.
He therefore went back home and prepared a room for Faith. He also bought other hospital equipments that were required for her as instructed by the doctor. Faith arrived later on accompanied by Ruth. She was immediately taken to the room that Ryan prepared for her. This made Ruth to feel more guilty about the situation. She felt as if she did not deserve all what Ryan was doing for her and Faith. This made her to secretly take Ryan to a private room in order to have a conversation with him.
" I want to take Faith back to our hometown. My mama and grandma will take good care of her. I feel that what you have done for us is enough and we need to leave. I do not eyou to get involved in our issues because that will make there issue inter communal issue and it will make a lot of people to be in serious problem especially if it finds out that the people are innocent" said Ruth.
" Why ? Do you think I fear Tere? They will say that I cannot even be able to take care of two women. I will be seen as a weak man by the society and that is what Tere wants. Are you going to allow her to accomplish her mission? Just tell me if you are going to do that and I will stop involving myself with your issues" said Ryan.
" No Ryan and please remember that I do not see you as an incapable person. You are a strong man. You fought against Martin and defeated him in his own kind of game. You taught to understand his place and stick to his own plane" said Ruth as he went close to Ryan and gave him a peck.
Ryan pecked her back in return as he caressed her hair. There was no doubt that they were really beginning to be inlove with one another. Ryan got too emotional till he carried Ruth to her own room forgetting that she needed to go and be with Faith since Faith needed her. Before Ryan could put her on top of the bed in the room, they heard Tere and Nurse Peninah calling out Faith's name. They immediately went outside the room to the living room and were astonished to find out that it was Tere was seated on the couch whereas Vivian and Lawrence looked at her astonished.
" What do you want Tere? How do you know Nurse Peninah?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.
" Have I told you not to mess up with my issues? You went ahead to search for Purist who is not even your daughter. I have what can implicate and falsely prove that you murdered those people in that abandoned house and I can prove that that act was done by the help of Faith" Said Tere as she laughed annoyingly accompanied by Nurse Peninah.
Tere immediately opened an audio from her phone which was claiming that Ruth ass capable of killing anyone. Ruth was astonished to find out that it was the conversation that she had with Nurse Peninah while still at the ward at the hospital.
" I cannot even believe that you can do this Tere. Is this how much you are desperate to win?" Asked Ruth a bit worried.
" Yes! I am desperate to get on my way" said Tere laughing.
Ryan was astonished at how cunning Tere was yet he could not let her hurt both Faith and Ruth. He decided that he was going to take them to the cell of hell.
