CHAPTER 114

As soon as they finished preparing the meal, Nelly assisted them to set the table. They waited for everyone to come but Lawrence, Vivian and Ryan did not come. They decided to eat their foods and retired to their beds. Ryan came back to the house and was astonished to find out that all the lights were switched off. He switched on the light from his torch and went straight to Ruth's room. He was astonished to find Ruth seated on top of her bed looking at the window. He immediately went and sat beside her.

" Are you still thinking about everything?" Asked Ryan in a pellucid voice.

Ruth just looked at him and did not bother to answer. 

" I hope you have forgotten everything that happened today. I was just filled with lots of anger. Today I have realized that Lawrence loves Vivian with all of his heart. He is still seated there waiting for Vivian to be released but I cannot do that because she insulted my wife's mother. Such a person does not deserve to be left unpunished" Said Ryan in a pellucid voice.

Ruth was still silent .She stood up from the bed and held Ryan's arm signalling to him to stand. Ruth led her to the dining table and switched on the light. She served him food and started feeding him. 

" Why did you come home now? Do you know how much I was stressed because I knew that you were going to sleep without tasting this meal that my mama and grandma have prepared for us? Eat till you get full then I might  be happy and even change my mind to release Vivian" said Ruth.

Ryan looked at Ruth amazed. He never thought that Ruth would be so caring and concerned about him. He felt shy for the fact that Ruth could not stop staring at him. 

" I am going to release Vivian. Have you changed your mind now?" Asked Ryan who felt that he needed to tease Ruth.

" What are you talking about Ryan? I have told you that I might change my mind but not that I have really changed my mind. Finish your food first so that tomorrow you will get a lot of energy to escort me out of Mambo town" Said Ruth smiling.

" Out of Mambo town! Are you really going to leave? Haven't I done enough by giving you the position of the case manager? Were you just playing tricks on me so that you would help your mother-in-law and her servant? I cannot believe that you took my love for granted. I think you do not understand what it means to love and to be loved and that is the main reason you were not able to maintain your marriage even if you got married at the age of sixteen" said Ryan who left the dining room. 

Ruth took the remaining foods to the kitchen and wiped the table. She left to her room and could not stop wondering about everything that Ryan told her. She decided to go to her room and sleep. 

Akeshia and Lady Nana arrived at the closer gates at that time. They found out that the gates of the closer gates were already closed. They tried to knock on the door but nobody heard them except for Tere who was still walking around trying to figure out the person who might had stolen the fake evidence. This was simply because she tried to search it on Martin's room but did not find it. Tere immediately went to open the gates of the closer gates. She was astonished when she found out that it was Akeshia and Lady Nana.

" Are you both back now? How was your trip to mambo town? How did you spend your night at the mambo cell? Did you both like it? I am sorry but you cannot enter the closer gates until tomorrow. You better find somewhere else where you can spend the night. There are many lodges and hotels near here mama. I wish you a splendid night" said Tere who closed the gates of the closer gates. 

She went back to the mansion in order not to be seen. She was astonished when she found out that Martin had not yet slept. She looked at him spitefully and therefore left to to her room. 

She went to her drawer and removed Ruth's pictures and burned it. 

TERE'S POV.

I will do everything to find that evidence and take you to prison. Nobody will be able to prevent me from doing that. I will now have to go to the abandoned house and remove the last evidence that we burried underground. That is the only thing that I can do to make sure that you suffer for the rest of your life.

Tere thought as she finally went to her bed and slept. Tere woke up early the next morning and went to the closer gates gates to find out if Akeshia and Lady Nana were still there but was astonished to find out that Martin saw them the first one since he woke up earlier than her.

Martin turned towards Tere and went towards her angrily as soon as he saw her. He slapped Tere and hit her on her rib till Tere fell on the ground. 

" How dare you let my mother sleep outside the gates of the closer gates like this? You could have at least paid for them a motel. Which kind of a person are you? You are not fit to be here. You are going to pack your things and leave the closer gates today" said Martin angrily.

Martin therefore took Akeshia's arm and led her to the mansion accompanied by Lady Nana who was carrying their luggages on her arms.

" She doesn't have to go Martin. We can choose to sort this issue amicably" Akeshia tried to plead with Martin. 

This was simply because she had lost hopes on Ruth. She did not want to associate with Ruth after Ruth sent her to mambo cell and after that gave her the verdict to leave mambo town. 

" Akeshia! There is no need for you to keep you in my own once known matrimonial home after everything that I did to you. How will I be able to look at you on the face and call you mother? I think it is better that I leave" said Tere as tears welled down her eyes. 

Martin looked at both Tere and Akeshia angrily. He failed to understand the main reason why Akeshia was defending Tere. 

" Then I will leave the closer gates. Tere and I cannot stay under the same roof after what she dared to do to you. To think that I have not forgotten everything she did to her own daughter" said Martin who wanted to leave but Akeshia held his arm begging him not to leave.

" Tere is the one going to leave Martin. I cannot bear it if my son chooses to stay away from me. It will totally break my heart and I will not be sleep as I will keep having sleepless nights" said Akeshia. 

" Fine! I want Tere to pack her things and leave right now. I am not going to take back this decision" said Martin who left to his study. 

He felt that he needed sometime alone. Tere on the other hand packed her clothes and left silenty. She felt it was wiser not to have a talk with anyone. Tere boarderd a taxi and left to the abandoned house where Haggai was now living.

As soon as she arrived, she entered the house and went to the backyard where the people she had killed were burried. She sat in the middle of the graves as tears welled down her eyes. Haggai who had been watching her from the kitchen window went towards her and hugged her. 

" Why have you left the closer gates?" Asked Haggai.

" To come here and talk to this dead goons. They should help me make sure that Ruth and Faith goes to jail. They should go and haunt them as if they were killed by them. That is the total evidence that I can have against those fools" said Tere. 

Before they could do anything, they saw six policemen entering the abandoned house. They were carrying guns at their hands and were heavily built.

" Are you both Haggai and Tere?" Asked one of the policemen.

" Yes! What do you want from us?" Asked Tere astonished.

" You are both under arrest for the murder of ten people. You are not allowed to say anything because anything you say will be used against you at the court of law" said one of the police men. 

Haggai and Tere confindently agreed to go to the police station without any denial.

Ruth on the other hand already packed her luggages. She wanted to leave immediately accompanied by Naomi and Magdalene since the town was far from there but Faith stopped them. She was angry that Ruth did not share with her such kind of a plan.

" You cannot leave this town because everything is settled Ruth. We are going to fulfill our mission in this town as we agreed" said Faith.

Ruth looked at Faith filled with lots of guilts since she had truly not informed her of the plans to leave. She felt that she was the same as faith and that changed her mind to stay.
