CHAPTER 124

The likes of Olam town. 

Days passed since Ruth started arranging on how to teach the people of Olam town how to prepare the tools that they were going to use during the war. This was after she got a message from Martin that the war was going to take place in two weeks time. Ruth had gathered all the metals and woods she could find. She knew that making guns was not the only weapon they needed. They needed arrows since buying guns at Olam town was out of bounds.

Ryan on the other hand kept moving around Mambo town convincing men to join him during the war since he did not really care whether the men were married or not. This made lots of men to gather at his mansion including ladies even though they had been hidden what they we going to fight for. Ryan knew that they could have refused if they knew that they were going to fight for love. He instead told them that the leader of Olam town and people of Olam town hated them and that was the main reason why the war was initiated. It's main motto was to kill everybody in mambo town and take over the town. 

Ruth was impressed after seeing everyone who had attended the teaching ceremony. 

" Ladies and gentlemen, the person who is going to teach you on how to make weapons is my girl Ruth from Olam town. She's an experienced weapon maker since it's what most people in Olam town do for a living" said Ryan as everybody looked at Ruth astonished. 

They kept wondering the main reason why Ruth wanted to help them instead of helping the people of her town. This made them to refuse the offer to be taught since they thought that Ruth was only there as a spy so that she could help the people of her community to win the war. 

" We cannot work with her unless she leaves" shouted one of the man from the multitude.

" Why not? I am Ruth Bora and my daughter Purist is married in this community. I would never dare to do anything that would make her suffer" said Ruth in a pellucid voice filled with lots of worries.

" We do not care who your daughter is. All we care about is the safety of our lives. You will only teach us how to make fake weapons so that we can help you ruin us by wining the war. The people of your community hate us unconditionally" shouted again another man from the multitude. 

Vivian who was watching from a distance kept laughing at Ruth which made Ruth to be filled with lots of anger. She knew that she could not let herself get defeated and therefore thought of a way to make the people of Mambo town to come to her terms. 

" My people! I have a reconciliation to make with you. I want one man who claims that he knows how weapons are made to enter into a competition with me. If he wins then I am going to let him teach you but if I win then I am going to teach all of you how to make the most durable and expensive weapons more than all towns around here. It can even be your sources of livelihood if we win this war" said Ruth smiling.

" Challenge accepted" said Ronald who happened to be among the men of war in the mulititude.

" Then be my guest sir" said Ruth smiling.

Ronald stepped forward with his items for making weapons. Ruth and Ronald both sat beside each other and began to make their weapons. Ronald felt frustruated since he had no better idea of how the weapons were made. He only heard from passers by when he went to trade his goods on Olam town. 

Luckily, Ruth was able to make the weapon live weapon before Ronald could finish. This made Ronald to feel bad for being defeated who wanted to stab Ruth with a knife but Lawrence who was near them came towards them and managed to stop Ronald. He therefore assisted Ruth to stand. 

" I have won this competition and a deal must always be a deal. We are going to start with the weapon making right away. I am going to teach all of you under the condition that Ronald leaves this place" said Ruth filled with lots of bitterness. 

She still found it hard to forgive since Ronald trying to stab her reminded her of the way Naomi got shot many years back due to the hatred she had with Tere. She therefore felt that Ronald would do the same thing now that he was defeated by Ruth. 

" I am sorry. Can I please......?" Said Ronald but Ruth suddenly interrupted. 

" You can please do nothing. I don't need your help anymore after what you have tried to do to me. I cannot teach a person who takes vengeance for a win. You are just like the rest of those people I trusted before in my life. Get out of here if you really care about the feelings of a woman who hasn't hurted you even for a single bit" said Ruth who signalled to Ronald to leave as tears welled down her eyes. 

Ronald immediately left. Vivian who now stopped laughing at Ruth decided to follow Ronald who noticed that there was someone following him as soon as he arrived outside the house. 

" Why are you following me?" Asked Ronald in a commanding voice. 

" Maybe if we become ally's then we will be able to bring Ruth down and make her pay for the embarrassments that she has caused me ever since she came here and the embarrassment that she has caused you today. She had no right to do so. She always thinks too highly of herself that's why she is going to use the warriors and men of this town for her own selfish gains. The reason of this war is because of the fact that Ruth has refused to return to her husband and wants to get married to Ryan. You have to tell everyone the truth" said Vivian smiling.

" What will I gain in return?" Asked Ronald who seemed to be too greedy. 

" A land in this town and fifty thousand coins" said Vivian who understood Ronald perfectly well.

" Fine! I will make sure that I use the market women to spread this news. They are the best romour mongers" said Ronald who left. 

He immediately went to the market inorder to have a conversation with the market women. He was astonished when he arrived at the market and found out that it was white market day. Ronald bought white sheets outside the gate of the market and covered himself with it. He entered and searched for a woman who seemed to spread news around town faster. He went towards her and waited for her to finish selling her potatoes. 

" We have a secret to share" Ronald whispered at the woman's ear. 

" What secret do you have to share with me? Does it include money? If it does not include money then get out of my space and never come back. I hope you understand how greedy market women are. Besides, I need that money for the upcoming unknown war. Don't you think so?" Said Riziki smiling.

" Oh Riziki. You have never stopped being greedy not even for once. What ammount of money do you want?" Asked Ronald.

" I want twenty thousand coins and nothing else. If you can give that then I am not going to spread whatever news you want me to spread for you" said Riziki angrily. 

" Alright! twenty thousand shilling coins is good for you. Consider it done once everybody get the humble news that I am going to provide you with. This war that is coming up has been initiated because of the love Ryan has for Ruth. This is a war of love and you have to spread this news in order to prevent a lot of people from dying" Ronald whispered at Riziki then left. 

Riziki therefore began to spread the news to everyone which made all the women in the market to be filled with lots of hapiness which was different from how Vivian expected them to receive the news. She expected them to be filled with lots of anger and refuse to help in the war. 

All the market women contributed their foodstuffs and journeyed to Ryan's house where Ruth had already began teaching the men and few women of town on making weapons. Vivian was astonished once she saw them approaching the house. She immediately went towards them. 

" What are you market women doing here carrying all this foodstuffs?" Asked Vivian angrily. 

" We are here to support Ruth and Ryan. We want to ensure that they get married that's why we brought this foodstuffs with us for everybody to eat" said Riziki smiling.

" Even after hearing what the war is all about?" Asked Vivian hesitantly. 

" How do you know that we have an idea of the truth about the war?" Asked Riziki filled with lots of suspicions. 

" Never mind! You can all go since they are still in there" said Vivian pretending to smile. 

This truly meant that her plan had not worked out. All in all,  she had to pretend to be happy, she went and joined the market women who were already distributing their foodstuffs among people. 

MARRIED AT SIXTEEN.
