CHAPTER 106
Haggai arrived at the boundaries of Mambo town and was astonished to find out that the gate was locked. Luckily, a woman who had come to trade at the town was opened the gates for since she wanted to leave. She immediately left whcich made Haggai to try and stop the guards at the closer gates. It was already late at night but Haggai did not really care.
He thought that if Ruth found out what had happened to him then she would side with him. As soon as Haggai managed to stop the guards, he went towards them.
" I want to see Ruth Bora" said Haggai hesitantly.
" You cannot see her since it's late at night. She might probably be having a meal with her family. I suggest that you go home now" said one of the guards as in a commanding voice.
" Please ask her to see me right away. It's very urgent" said Haggai as he knelt and held one of the guards leg.
This made one of the guards to pity him who told him to wait as he went to the mansion to inform Ruth. The guard found out that the family was still taking their meal. He still insisted that he needed to have a talk with Ruth which made the guards guarding the house to allow him to enter. The guard went straight to the dining room where the family was having their meal.
" Madam Ruth! There is a guest at the boundary of mambo Mambo town who seeks to have a conversation with you. He says that it is urgent that he sees you" said the guard hesitantly.
" Who is it? Has the guest identified himself or herself by name?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.
" No! He seems to be tired and seem to have come from far" said the guard.
" Tell him or her to wait for a few minutes then I will be there" said Ruth smiling.
The guard immediately left the house. Ruth finished her meal and decided to go accompanied by Ryan who feared for her safety. Thy arrived at the boundary and Ruth was surprised to find out that it was Haggai.
" What do you want here Haggai? Why are you carrying all this luggages in your arms?" said Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.
" Can I enter and sit somewhere so that we can discussed?" Asked Haggai who was already tired.
" No! I do not want you to enter. You don't have any rights to give me conditions" shouted Ruth at Haggai.
Haggai therefore put his luggages down and sat on them. Ruth on the other hand ordered for two chairs where she would sit with Ryan. As soon as the chairs were brought, Ruth and Ryan sat down then ordered Haggai to start the conversation.
" Tere and Martin have chased me out of the closer gates and I have nowhere to go. I have come here to seek for help because I know that you are in a good condition to help me. Please let me stay in mambo town for a few days" said Haggai who could not stop crying in front of Ruth.
Ruth did not even get emotional. He felt anger fill her heart. She thought that Haggai was lying to her since Tere was his wife.
" It's late at night and you shouldn't have come here. I am really afraid because I cannot really help you. You better some other town to sleep in. Let's go Ryan. Haggai and I have nothing more to talk about" said Ruth who left to the mansion accompanied by Ryan.
The gates of Mambo town were closed. This made Haggai to feel bad by the fact that he had destroyed the evidence against Ruth. He remembered that he had hide a copy of the evidence in his safe box which was inside his bag. He decided to go back to Olam town. He wanted to ghostly take the evidence to Tere at the closer gates since he was banned from entering the closer gates. He boardered a taxi and left even though he knew that he had no money in his pocket. This made him to threaten the taxi driver of mambo town using the gun that he had on his hand. People of Mambo town feared guns. They felt that guns would harm them.
Ryan on the other hand was angry at the way Ruth handled the issue concerning Haggai. He felt that Ruth was very harsh on him yet she did not have. He decided to tell Ruth his opinion about everything.
" Where do you expect that man to go to? He will not even arrive to Olam town at midnight. We should have let him spend the night here then force him to leave the next day in the morning" said Ryan in a pellucid voice.
" Are you really going to teach me what is good and bad? That man ruined my life and made me feel as if I was nothing. He was Tere ally and I do not believe that anybody can change. He might have done something to provoke Tere and Martin that us why he got pushed away" said Ruth angrily.
" Why do I fail to understand you at times? You say that you love Martin very much but it's clear to me that he chooses to be on your enemies side. Look at me. Have I not done everything to prove my worth as a man?" Said Ryan a bit hesitant.
He knew that the topic would upset Ruth. He still decided to say it in order to understand what he truly meant to Ruth.
" Ryan! Can we not talk about love now? I am not even sure what I want in life. I have always fought for nothing. When I was young, my father always told me that he loved me very much and he would never hurt me. I trusted him and I trusted the fact that he could never hurt but one day he got me married to aman who had no feelings. That man was Martin Tupfer who made my life miserable. I later realized that my grandma was framed and taken to the cell of hell. Luckily, she was later released together with Tere and that's where everything started. Tere plays her games well and still upto now she still plays her games well and I am defeated even if I am a lawyer. Purist the girl I came to save has totally forgotten about me. So how can I believe that somebody else can love me and his family can accept me for who l am. Don't you realize how difficult it is?" Said Ruth who left to her room as tears welled down her eyes.
She felt bad after rejecting Ryan who had been so good to her. She sat on top of the bed and began thinking about the whole situation.
RUTH'S POV.
How can I be able to love you Ryan? I know that if I do so, then Martin will never spare your life. I am so sorry for not loving you back.
Ruth thought as she entered her bed and slept.
The next morning, Ruth woke up and went to towards the mirror. She was surprised to find out that her eyes red. This meant that she had been crying the whole night. She felt bad at how she had spoken at Ryan and went to check on him. She was astonished to find out that Ryan had slept on the floor the night before and his clothes were cold. She immediately went to the shower and cane out with a towel then covered it in Ryan. She tried to wake up Ryan but Ryan did not wake up no matter how much Ruth tried to wake him up.
" Ryan! I am begging you to wake up. I really want you to be there when I will tell you that I love you back" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes.
Ryan opened his eyes at that instant and hugged Ruth tightly. This meant that Ryan was pretending to be deep asleep. Ruth got angry and pushed Ryan away .
" I know that you love me back and I won't force you to so right now. I will be waiting for your response. I am patient and obidient man" said Ryan smiling.
" Today you have decided to punish me. Tomorrow I will be the one to punish you and you won't like it. This is a challenge" said Ruth angrily who left the room.
Ryan just laughed and went to the bathroom to shower. He was happy as lark after finding out that Ruth was having feelings on him. Ruth on the other hand felt that she was only being caring and grateful for all the things that Ryan had done for her.
Ruth decided to go and check on Faith. She was astonished that Faith could walk around the room different from what the doctor has said and the response that Faith was giving on the medication. Ruth widened her eyes in disbelief as she left the room. She did not want Faith to realize that she had seen her. She felt that Faith had an hidden agenda.
