CHAPTER 173

Ruth could not believe that she blindly saw the goodness of the people around her in such a way that she was unable to see the dark side of them. Ruth decided to sit on the couch in deep state of confusion. She knew that if she wanted revenge then she needed to plan it carefully. Ryan who was already waiting for Ruth decided to go to her in the living room filled with lots of anger which worsened when he found Ruth seated on the couch in deep state of confusion. 

" What are you doing here? I have been waiting for you for a long period of time" Shouted Ryan at Ruth angrily. 

" Waiting for me? We are just engaged but not yet married. I have to go somewhere . I really need to be alone before I start this new journey with you. Give me time to think about my life and how I am going to make a few things straight now and after our marriage" shouted Ruth at Ryan in a commanding voice.

Ruth immediately left the mansion. She found it hard to face Ryan after hearing the fact that he was the one who ordered for the killing of Magdalene. Ruth indeed needed a lot of courage to come back and face him. The strange change of Ruth's attitude towards Ryan made Ryan to begin having doubts that something was wrong. It caused him to go and look for Faith in the kitchen who was indeed in the kitchen drinking a cup of coffee since she was feeling cold. As soon as Ryan entered the kitchen, he found Faith seated in the kitchen accompanied by Naomi and Nelly. They were both drinking coffee which made him to feel that it wasn't the right time to have a conversation with Faith.

" Do you mind having a cup of coffee Ryan?" Asked Faith smiling.

" Yes I do mind. I will only have a cup of coffee once Ruth comes back to this mansion. I am mad about her and can't stay a single day without her" said Ryan who wanted to leave but Faith stopped him by holding his arm and handing over a cup of coffee to him. 

" You must drink this coffee since you are my brother-in-law now. Only by accepting to drink this coffee will prove to me that you have accepted me as your sister-in-law" said Faith.

Ryan immediately drank the coffee and left. Not even the coffee could be able to cure the worries that he had in his heart. Ryan decided to go his room but fell asleep as soon as he sat on top of the bed. Nelly and Naomi fell asleep as well in the kitchen. Faith assisted them to go to their rooms and ensured that they fell asleep. The only people who were remaining sober were Vivian and Lawrence who were still playing like rats in their room. Faith immediately went to the kitchen and took a bottle of alcohol named as ' Chrome' . She therefore took three wine glasses and went to to Vivian's room but was astonished to find out that the room was locked.

Faith decided to knock on the door but neither did Vivian nor Lawrence bothered to open the door. Faith knocked on the door more harder which angered Lawrence who decided to go and open the door.

" I hope both Vivian and you don't mind drinking alcohol with me. Today is supposed to be a celebration since my sister just got engaged to your brother. Is that not right Lawrence? Won't you let me in?" Said Faith in a pellucid voice smiling. 

Lawrence signalled Faith to enter the room and locked the door from the inside as soon as Faith entered.

" This is nice of you Faith. I have never thought you could be this sweet" said Vivian smiling.

Faith put the alcohol in the three wine glasses and handed two wine glasses to Lawrence and Vivian who drank till they finally lay on the floor unconscious. Faith therefore looked at the clock which was almost ticking to midnight. 

She left Vivian and Lawrence lying unconscious on the floor. She knew the fact that that was the only she would have a private conversation with Ruth outside the mansion without anyone interfering. Faith left the mansion at that instant and went to look for Ruth since she knew where to find her. 

Faith found Ruth seated at the case square box since her cries could be heard from afar. Faith stretch her arms towards Ruth in order for Ruth to use them as her support to stand. 

" I am here sister. Shall we go now? No one will be able to trace us from here" said Faith as Ruth stood. 

Faith wiped Ruth tears as she led her out of the case square. They both went to a mini town in Mambo town called town of sisterhood where fire was a representation of a private conversation between two people which made the people of the sisterhood to move aside and not interfere on two people's private conversation.  The town was not far from the case square which made Ruth and Faith to arrive in a few minutes. They therefore took firewood and lit fire which was higher enough to warn somebody from far not to approach them. 

" Speak now. I want to know what is going on behind my back" said Faith filled with lots of curiosity.

" Do you remember I told you that somebody kill grandma and mama had an idea about it but did not want to tell me whom it was? I doubted Lawrence and Ryan at that time but I  felt that Ryan could not do anything to hurt me. Now I think that there is some truth in it Faith and I don't think I can hide if from you my sister" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes.

" Are you saying that Ryan is among the people who ordered my grandma to be killed?.. ..How could he do this to us? I thought he was different and was not capable of killing someone who is connected to someone he loves. Does this mean that Martin and my mama have always been innocent?" Asked Faith in a pellucid voice filled with lots of curiosity.

" I don't know Faith. Infact, I don't even know what to believe anymore other than the fact that I must get married to Ryan. I must seek revenge for our grandma's death and you are the only one who must help me suceed in this mission" Ruth said as Faith as Faith nodded her head in agreement.

" I am going to help you to avenge our grandma's death. This is way beyond me. I don't even understand why someone would want to hurt my grandma Magdalene who was pure in heart. I remember the day she decided to leave the closer gates to Martin knowing very well that Martin was not his blood relation but the fact that he was a man . This truly proved to everyone that water could be thicker than blood. Our revenge starts now as soon as we enter the mansion. I will not dare to spare anyone now that I know the truth. Ryan, Vivian , Lawrence, Haggai and Tere are doomed. They will face the wrath of vengeance of an angry fire. The countdown starts now" said Faith as she put off the fire as an indication that their conversation was over.

Faith and Ruth therefore left and went back to the mansion. As soon as the arrived, they found that everybody were still asleep as a result of the sedative that Faith had put on their drinks. 

Faith and Ruth decided to go to their rooms and rest. They needed time to think about everything since the felt that acting faster would make Ryan and the others suspicious towards them.

The next day in the morning , the house was still filled with so much silence. It was as if the whole house has been sedated once again. Ruth woke up and immediately and went to the living room. Ruth was astonished to find Ryan, Lawrence and Vivian tied up in the living room with a tag on their neck ' Today we have decided to be tied up like dogs because we are murderers. We kill to survive'. Ruth widened her eyes in disbelief as she went towards them. 

Ruth immediately untied all of them filled with lots of worries. She knew that Faith could have been the one who did that after telling her the truth that Magdalene was killed by Ryan's orders but still felt that Faith could not have done such a thing.

" I can't believe it. How can a ghost tie us here? Is this what happens to murderers who get haunted? I have always watched it in the movies but never thought that it would happen in real life. I am so devastated. I have never felt this scared before" said Vivian as she went towards Ruth and hugged her.

" Ghost! Do ghosts really exist?  Whose ghost are you talking about,?" Asked Ruth who needed a confirmation.

" Magdalene's ghost. Magdalene is the one who has done this to us" said Vivian. 

Ruth shook her head in disbelief yet she did not believe that Magdalene was the one who did that. Somebody else was trying to manipulate them and Ruth felt that she needed to find out who the person was.
