CHAPTER 183

The next day, Ruth woke up at almost noon filled with lots of hapiness. Naomi had already woken up and was in the kitchen preparing luncheon for the family members who had remained at home.

Ruth immediately changed into her bathing towel to in order to be able to go and gave a shower. 

As soon as she finished, she came and tried to look for the an ancestral vase of flowers which she had put on top of the drawer of the room but the vsse was nowhere to found.

" Mama! Why should I carry this vase of flowers? I love the flowers and they are mine.  They are mine" shouted a young Lady.

After hearing the child's voice, Ruth immediately ran outside the house. Luckily, they had not yet boardered a taxi they were waiting for. As soon as Ruth arrived, she forcefully took the ancestral flower away from the child which made the child to began to cry.

" I am very sorry child. Name whatever you want and it will all be yours my love" said Ruth as she pitied the baby.

" I just want that vase of flowers. There are no such beautiful flowers such as this one" said the child as she began to cry.

" Earthly things don't interest me too much but I just can't this you this vase of Flowers. Do you understand me?" Said Ruth who suddenly left and entered the house.

She felt that if she continued staying there, then she would feel pity for the child and give her the flowers which could continuing causing her more and more harm. Maybe that is what Akeshia wanted and that might be the reason why she had hidden the truth from them that she had performed the spell.

Ruth went straight to her room and locked the room from the inside. She therefore began searching for a place to hide the ancestral vase. Luckily, she found out that Purist had already built a small hole on the left side of the wall of the room. Ruth places the ancestral vase inside and closed the wall. She therefore placed a picture on top of it. 

It was then that she turned behind her and found Purist seated on top of the bed dressed in one of her dresses. 

" Purist! Have you been here all this while? Are you the one who has dug the whole on which I have used to hide the ancestral vase?" Asked Ruth as she went and sat beside Purist.

" No mama! There is no problem. I wanted to surprise by the hole that I have dug on the wall. I knew that searching for a place to hide would not be easy for you after I peeped through the window and saw you taking the ancestral vase from that child. It was then that I realized you are still emotional mama" said Purist laughing.

" Emotional! What do you mean?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of anger.

" The motherly in you versus the ancestral vase which you need to protect" said Purist which made Ruth to pinch her on the nose.

" I am only a mother to one daughter and that is you. That is why we usually share a lot of secrets unless if the secret involves you then I don't share" said Ruth.

There was a sudden knock on the door. Ruth knew that she was being informed the fact that luncheon was ready. 

" I am coming in a short while" shouted Ruth as she looked at Purist smiling.

" Shall we go mama? I can't wait to taste the food cooked by Aunty Vivian. She really made a beautiful breakfast today" said Purist smiling as held Ruth's arm and stood forcing Ruth to stand too. 

Purist led Ruth out of the room to the dining table. On arrival, they found everybody seated and there was only one chair left. 

" Please sit Purist and have your luncheon. I can eat later" said Ruth as she signalled to Purist to sit.

" No mama. At least I had breakfast but you did not. You are the one who is supposed to sit and have a proper luncheon. Isn't that right mama?" Asked Purist smiling who signalled to Ruth to sit as she forcefully pushed the chair towards them and signalled to Ruth to sit.

As soon as Ruth sat, Vivian began clapping her hands while laughing annoyingly.

" Is it the daughter is so good? She would even rather skip her meal for her own mama to eat. Wow! Even the mother has no shame to sit eat while her own daughter hasn't even tasted the food. Is that not what the culture of your town says" said Vivian.

" Actually, I was to tell my daughter to come and sit at your place. This food has been cooked by you and therefore, it is only right if the chef stands while all the family members eat. Is that not what mambo culture says under section five of Mariana constitution. Do you know that I can sue you for breaking that rule? Do you? You' ve made me remember the saying that says ' Whoever laughs best laughs last'. So stand up Chef and pave way for my daughter to sit. And please! Remember to think twice next time before you dig your own grave. The angel you know might turn out to be the chameleon that you don't know" said Ruth as she signalled to Purist to go and sit .

Vivian forcefully stood from the dining chair and paved way for Purist to sit. Purist immediately sat and placed Vivian's plate of food on the floor. She therefore took another plate on the dining table and served herself her own food. Vivian decided to pick her own food but was suddenly stopped by Purist.

" Don't you dare Aunty Vivian. I really care a lot about you and can't bare to see you fall sick again. You cannot eat the food which has been eaten by a cat especially a dark cat. What if it has been sent to poison her food?" Said Purist.

" You are right my new niece in town. Now let me ask you a question. Why then did you put my food on the ground? Did you know that the cat would leaked it?" Asked Vivian.

" No I did not my new Aunt. I just wished and my wish came true after having a few chats with the star of wish. Now the food is finished and the only thing that is remaining is left over. I hope you don't mind eating from a hotel" said Purist smiling.

" How can I mind eating from a hotel? Besides, I used to eat in a hotel but all this ended once your mama banned us from doing so. Since then, no hotel would dare allow us to eat and enjoy ourselves. All the hotels are usually closed once we try to access but I will make sure that she reverses that rule before she gets married to Ryan" said Vivian who left the dining room.

Vivian really felt offended. She felt that she had learnt the biggest lesson of her life since was the one who had hidden the other dining chairs.

In a jiffy after Ruth and Purist had began to eat, one if the guards who guard the boundaries of mambo town suddenly entered the dining room breathing heavily. He informed Ryan that there was a commotion outside the boundaries of mambo town.

They claimed that they had been sent by Mr. One to summon Ruth to go town one and have a conversation with him on how they were going to stop the war which Mr. One had hatched with Tere.

" Tell him that I don't want to come. This might be a trick for him to have a conversation with his daughter" said Ruth.

" No! They say that you have been summoned by Mr. One to discuss how you both are going to stop the war that had been planned by Tere and him. The greatest that is to kill everyone here at Mambo town. The claim that he says you are the one who can stop that war now that the news are everyone that you have saved your daughter from the illegal marriage she was in.  That only has made Me. One to be proud of you. He insists that you should come with your daughter and sister-in-law Vivian if possible" said the guard.

" Tell them to tell him that I won't come. I cannot and will never take my daughter a long with me to town one. Tell then to also warn him that I cannot stand his tolerance with me. An enemy can never be a true friend but trouble maker who runs away once the fire is lit" said Ruth smiling.

The guard immediately left. Everybody at the dining table looked at Ruth with a facial expression which showed anger. They did not really understand Ruth's sudden decision yet Ruth felt that she had done the right thing by not meeting Mr. One.
