CHAPTER 233
He quickly ordered the doctor to treat her even though Vivian had just suffered from a minor injury. This made Vivian to realize that Lawrence had seen something special in her but when she went to be introduced to the family, she noticed that Lawrence was the only one among the family members who had loved her.
Two months later after introducing Vivian to the family, Lawrence went to his mother who has seated at the study room in. her swinging chair written her name just like Magdalene's which was in the closer gates back then. Such chairs signified alot of strength and power.
" Mama! It's been two months since I brought the woman I love Vivian but you haven't spoken anything about her. Please just say something. You don't understand how much I love Vivian" said Lawrence a little but worried.
It was indeed true that after the introduction, Ivy never spoke again about Lawrence's choosen bride. She wanted Lawrence to forget about the marriage part since she had hardly loved Vivian.
" What do you want me to say? You already made your decision without asking for my own opinion. I have nothing to say" said Ivy.
" But mama! You must say something. You are the eldest in this house and you are my mama" said Lawrence in a pellucid voice a bit worried.
" I have said I have nothing to say" replied Ivy.
" You must say something mama. I love Vivian" said Lawrence as she suddenly went towards Ivy and held her by her arms pleading to her to day something about Vivian.
" To be honest, I have been asking myself how you can love such a girl who has no ambitious or any leadership skills. I know that you do not love that girl which is something that you have found hard to admit. You just want to marry her since every man needs a companion in his life. I do not like that girl" said Ivy.
" Do you think I like that girl? No! But I feel the kind of strongholds that she has in her. She might had not come from a leadership family but she can attain alot of power. That is the main reason why I like her mama. She will take good care of our family" said Lawrence.
" Then do whatever you want. I have washed my hands from all this. I do not want anything to do with it but if that devil comes to my house. I know that you both will resolute to kill me and burry me without Nelly and Ryan having knowledge about it. Yet you will have to pay. You will follow me in my grave but later on " said Ivy who suddenly left the study.
Lawrence took it upon himself to go to Vivian's parents and seeked for her hand in marriage all by himself. Nobody really wanted to support him. He paid for the bride price after being given Vivian's hand in marriage. The next thing was supposed too set the marriage date which was something tgat did not happen.
Vivian claimed that the payment of the bride price was more than enough and the fact that they should move into their matrimonial room which was still Lawrence's room. Yes! But that night, Lawrence went to his bed and slept forgetting the fact he had brought a woman in his own room as their matrimonial room.
After a few days of Vivian's arrival, Ivy felt terribly ill after taking a heavy breakfast that fateful morning. The superv breakfast which caused Ivy to become ill had been prepared by Vivian. Yet the doctor who had been informed to come and treat Ivy claimed that Ivy had been suffering from food poisoning which there was no chances of arrival. He also claimed that Ivy needed to be taken to the hospital and kept under a watch in the intensive care unit.
All this while, Lawrence was in deep state of silent. Ivy was already taken to the intensive care unit but the sudden change of behaviour in Vivian made Lawrence to sense that something was wrong as soon as he had come back gone after escorting Ryan to the intensive care unit.
When Lawrence arrived back home, he noticed that Vivian was seated in Ivy's couch at the study on her Ivy's swinging chair which out of respect nobody had ever sat on it before. Nelly and Ryan had remained in the intensive care unit to check whether there was a progress in Ivy's treatment and health.
" Why are you seated on my mama's swinging chair and yet you know the fact that she is sick and hospitalized? Are you even using your five senses?" Asked Lawrence filled with lots of anger.
" Yes Lawrence. I am perfectly using my five senses with no any regrets. I know that all this power is going to become mine and I know the fact that your mother has never put you in the line of being a leader in this family. She has always looked down upon you. That is why I've decided to easen your work by putting poison in her tea. I know that you love me too much and you cannot take me to prison for this. After all, there is no active case manager " said Vivian.
" Is that why you have to kill the only parent that I an left with? I agree that I was always sad whenever ny mother mentioned that I could never be a good leader. Yet there was no single day that I thought of killing her. Listen to me carefully. If my mother died, I will never forgive you, I will never let you bear a child from this family. You will die motherless unless you bring my mama back to life " said Lawrence which made Vivian to widen her eyes in disbelief.
She really thought that she had done the right thing but had no idea of the fact that Lawrence was going to be angry immediately he heard that somebody was responsible for his mother's poor health and that person was nothing other than his own wife.
" I thought I was easening your burden. I really thought that....." Said Vivian but Lawrence immediately interrupted her by slapping her till her cheecks suddenly turned to red hot due to the pain and the negative energy.
" Don't you ever think that by killings my mother you easened my burden. You have just made me loose the only parent that I had. You've made me and my siblings orphans. I will never forgive you for that. I will spend the rest of my life making you regret that you got married to me and harmes my mama" said Lawrence who immediately heard the house main door opening.
He immediately left the study room and webt to the living room to check whom it was. He was astonished to see that it was Ryan and Nelly and their eyes had suddenly turned to red and swollen due to crying for a long period of time.
" What? What has happened?" Asked Lawrence a bit curious and sad.
" Do you want to know what has happened? Our kama woke up and said that your wife is the murderer. After that, she has died in cold blood. Why have you done it Vivian? Why killed my mama? I agree that she hated you but that is not enough reason for you to kill her. She was not a bad mother -in- law. She might had hatedyou but there was no single day that she beared to see you suffer. Why?" Asked Ryan filled with lots of anger.
" I think I know the reason why. Vivian wants power. She wants to become the case manager. That is my position but I hand it over to you. I am afraid to due like my mama. Maybe you might poison my luncheon next" said Nelly who immediately ran to her room.
She was too devastated as she had loved her mother with all of her heart. Her mother Ivy was like her life and since they shared many things in common.
" Nelly had surrendered her position as the case manager but I will not surender my position as the leader of Mambo town to you or your husband. I am going to make sure that I fulfill my mother's dream to become a the leader of this town. Once that is done, I will make you pay for every bits of it" said Ryan who suddebly left to Nelly's room to comfort her.
Ryan was afraid of the fact that Nelly had become too emotional and would suddenly do anything to harm herself. As soon as he arrived at Nelly's room, he found Nelly seated at the floor of her room carrying Ivy's picture in her arm.
" She has killed my mother simply because all she wanted is power. She will spend her whole life leading this town but I will spend my whole life finding the evidence that will take her to jail for killing my mama" said Nelly as she suddenly embraced Ryan who had now seated beside her.
