CHAPTER 240

" I am leaving this house and I have decided that the person who is going to take care of Nelly till Nelly gets healed is Ruth. There is nothing anybody can do about that to change my mind" said Lawrence smiling as he took his suitcase but then stopped as soon as he heard Evelyn scream in pain. 

This made him to drop down his suitcase and went towards Evelyn. At that instant, Evelyn started breathing heavily as Akeshia ran and sat beside her then began to cry. 

" What is happening to you mama? I don't want you to die. I want to watch you live" said Akeshia as tears welled down her eyes.

" Is she really the one who hurt my sister?" Asked Lawrence as he watched Evelyn scream in pain. 

" My mama has been hurt but then you want ask such a hurtful question in her state? Don't you have any conscious? I have spent all this years of my life without my mama. I know you can understand what I mean because your mama is dead. I just want my mama back and spend the last memories she has been left with" shouted Akeshia at Lawrence. 

Lawrence decided to remain silence. He did not want to argue with Akeshia but he could understand the pain of loosing a mother even though he was never close to his mother Ivy. This made him to realize the saying ' blood is thicker than water was the truth' .

" Fine! Nelly is going to come to this house and I will convince her to come and heal your mama on one condition" said Lawrence feeling a little bit sad. 

" What condition is that that you think I cannot agree with?" Asked Akeshia. 

" She will have to come here accompanied by Ruth and her entire family. My sister will still have to be taken care of by the doctors and the two nurses who have been taking care of her" said Lawrence. 

Akeshia and Martin looked at each other filled with lots of anger. How were they going to agree to Lawrence's terms of allowing her Ruth and her entire family to come back to the closer gates? Anyway, they knew that they had no choice than to make a decision faster. Martin therefore took upon himself to make the decision. 

" We agree to your conditions Mr. Lawrence. We hope to see them soon as my grandma has little time left. I cannot afford to loose her" said Martin who was more than clear with his words. 

Lawrence immediately left the closer gates and refused to be accompanied by the closer gates warriors. Luckily, he had now become familiar with the route to Ruth's house. Therefore arriving there faster was easy for him as he was a good and fast driver. 

He therefore parked his car outside Ruth's compound and entered then knocked on the door as soon as he arrived at the main door. 

Naomi is the one who went and opened the door this time. She got bored as soon as she found out that it was Lawrence.

" What are you doing here?" Asked Naomi filled with lots of anger. 

" I am here to take everybody to the closer gates including the doctors and the nurses. I believe that that is where you will all be happy" said Lawrence smiling. 

" That is what you want but have you asked us what we want. We do not want to go to the closer gates where we were thrown away like dogs who had appeared in a strange land. Besides, I have never enjoyed my life at the closer gates ever since I was a child. Why them should I go there? Oh! I get it now. You have been convinced by Akeshia to take us all to the closer gates so that he mama will be healed. What about my mama whom Ryan killed? Won't have had protected her at that time like the way you are doing to somebody's else's mother?"  Asked Naomi feeling very sad. 

" I understand how you feel Aunt Naomi after the death of your mama. I could have helped you at that....." Said Lawrence in a pellucid voice as Naomi suddenly interrupted him. 

" You weren't able to help then and you will not be able to do anything now. You cannot be able to bring my mother back to life. My mama is dead and I have really learnt to live by that. I am healing and I am still not healing because you and your entire family have not yet been locked up under the four walls of the cell. Get out" said Naomi who signalled to Lawrence to leave. 

Lawrence did not bother to move an inch. He knew that he had to be persistent about his idea so that Naomi would listen to him but his little effort bore no fruit. Naomi locked the door from the inside leaving Lawrence standing outside not knowing what to do. 

Lawrence on the other hand promised himself that he was going to convince them to join him at the closer gates. He had no idea that Ryan his brother who could not be able to walk wasn't able to rule too as Vivian took over making his life miserable at the mansion. 

Vivian made Ryan do the house chores and cook as well. He had done all this after begging Ryan to try and give him a child but Ryan refused to listen to his plea. All Vivian wanted was a baby girl inorder for Nelly not to take over her position as the case manager once she comes back. 

With this in mind, after Ryan had finished doing all the house chores. Vivian locked him up at the guest cell as a way of punishment.  She therefore went back to her chair and sat. 

Of course she had an idea that outsiders have seen how she treated Ryan. The news therefore had spread all over town till the news reached Mr. One who decided to come to Mambo town to check on Ryan 

This was simply because ever since Ryan became the leader of Mambo town. The first thing that he did was to form an alliance with Mr One which made the two towns to become siblings and greatest friends unlike other towns. They not only benefited each throug trading but had began the act of intermarrying which made the two towns to respect each other even more. 

As soon as Mr. One arrived at the Mambo mansion, he called out Ryan's name since he knew of the fact that Ryan could recognize his voice. 

Vivian got out on hearing Ryan's name astonished to find out whom it was. She got astonished as soon as she found out that it was Mr. One. 

" Can I see Ryan my good friend and son?" Mr. One ordered which astonished Vivian. 

There was no way that she was going to lie about Ryan's whereabouts since Mr. One had already known of the fact that Ryan had been compiled to sit on his wheelchair. Vivian immediately went and released him from the guest cell then took him to Mr. One. She therefore wanted to sit there to listen to their conversation but Mr. One signalled him not to sit. 

" I want to have a conversation with him like a man. We seriously need each other's support right now. I know that you have not forgotten of the fact that Ryan is my long term friend. I am going to take care of him from now till I leave Mambo town" said Mr. One as he stood and took Ryan away. 

Mr. One knew that the only way that Ryan would confide to him as a man was by taking Ryan away from the mansion. 

" Why are you here Mr. One? Are you here to laugh at my because of misery?" Said Ryan smiling who was only joking with Mr. One.

" No! I am here to form another alliance with you like in the past. I want to do something for you and the people of this town. I want to overcome Vivian's power in this town and rule over this town then hand the leadership over to you. The news has reached my town on how this ungreatful woman has maltreated you ever since your brother Lawrence left Mambo town to go and search for Nelly at Olam town" said Mr. One as a proposal. 

" Thank you Mr. One but I do not have any complaints about what Vivian does to me yet I feel that she should be taught some lesson. So I agree to your terms of taking over Mambo town" said Ryan smiling. 

" Thank you for giving me this chance to prove to you that Mambo town and Olam town will always be siblings and there for each other no matter what happens. Let's go back to the house then my brother. I will begin work immediately " said Mr. One.

" I hope you get to overthrow her soon " said Ryan who was now as happy as a lark.
