I sat down in a playground waiting for Elizabeth. It was late at night, so the playground was empty, but people were passing by. I brought out my wrist watch and checked the time. I had been waiting for about an hour. I looked up at the moon. It was a silver-coloured alloy ring hanging in the lonely sky, gleaming across the city. When a thought came into my mind, I slowly returned my hand downwards.
I got a notification on my phone, I dipped my hand into my right pocket to reach for my phone. I bought it out and it got unlocked making use face ID. When a notification entered my phone, I murmured, "It should be her." I clicked on it to see what she had sent.
When I heard a noise from the end of the garden, I thought the garden was empty when I got here. When these guys got here, I didn’t notice. It was like a gathering of a few people. They were standing a little bit far away, so I dipped my phone back into my pocket because they were looking suspicious, so I became curious to know what they were hiding.
I stood up and started moving towards them, ‘I don’t think they know I’m here.’ I said in my mind, I was standing far away from them trying to keep a distance. Their voices sounded familiar, and I became interested in wanting to know who they were.
I walked briskly, making sure my legs weren’t creating sounds. I got closer to them until I could see their faces. I spotted a young looking guy among them. I looked closely to confirm if it was Daves. I was shocked and I hid at the back of a huge rock that was in the garden to prevent myself from being caught.
I remembered Josh telling me about them, that they don’t walk alone, they are always together, which means the rest should be here. I tired of looking again to confirm it was all of them. I wasn’t shocked to see that it was all of them, just like I had thought. ‘But what are they up to?’ I mumbled. I took my face off trying not to be caught because Josh told me he suspected them of being wolves. They might be able to hear me, which made me very careful. After some seconds, I brought my face out to look again, but I couldn’t see anyone.
I kept out, wondering where they would have gone when I slighted the last person walking into the woods. ‘Are they werewolves really wolves?’ I asked myself. I thought of calling Josh immediately, but if I did, I wouldn’t be able to catch up with them. I came out from the back of the rock and jotted after them.
I was holding my phone with the light on which was serving as touch. I didn’t know where I was going, but I knew I would have lost track of them. I stepped on a branch suddenly, making a noise, and it made me frightened. I stood there for a long time.
