Chapter 10

Anna pov 

     After Peter came to look for me, I hurried outside. There were many hair dressers outside. Why would anyone need my attention, maybe it's not for hairdressing.

    On getting there I saw a girl standing,she looks so familiar,I couldn't believe my eyes rethabile was here in person,I was so nervous I didn't know how to approach her,she hasn't changed a bit,she still looks and behaves like  she just opened her eyes for the first time.

      She loves staring at things, and right from when she was little she found it hard to communicate with anyone,not even her siblings,I tried holding back the tears in my eyes. I am finally seeing my daughter after many years.

     I know she might not remember me,but I would do anything for her hug right now. She saw me coming and then tried to dress herself,I noticed dust and dirt on her clothes but all I just wanted was to hold her in my hands and tell her I really didn't mean to leave her. 

     I hoped to see her everyday,on getting to where she stood she told me she was sent by Mrs Rita, my face lit up immediately she said the name,Mrs Rita really took good care of her,she looks so beautiful,and well trained.

       I had to hold her beautiful face,she was a sight to behold,her skin were soft and I could see the mixed reaction she got when I touched her face,I felt butterflies in my stomach,I haven't felt like that in a long time,I caressed her chin with my thumb.

     ,she really looks like her mother. "You really look like your mother". I was shocked by her sudden reaction when she hugged me,at first I hesitated…. Has Rita told her the truth ? I really wanted to tell her myself.

     I must tell her today,I hugged her back,I got comfortable in her embrace but suddenly she removed her body from mine,I knew she was as surprised as I was,but any reason for the hug I really appreciate it.

        I made her hair with love I still remembered the style of hair she liked,though I only stayed with her for a year or two,she didn't act like a girl of two years,she was very selective as a child,she never liked flashy colours,and she liked feeding herself,she was so independent.

    Training her wasn't as stressful as it was for me like it was for Rita,it took quite a while before she could adapt to Rita, Rita was a good woman and I knew she would take care of Reth for me,it really took her time to let peter go, but she knew it wasn't easy for me either.

     We became best of friends till she left South Africa in search of shelter after her husband died,I knew my rethabile was nervous. She even forgot to tell me the style she wanted,she always flinched anytime my bare hands touched her scalp. 

    After making her hair,with the look on her face I knew she was pleased,I had to leave her after dressing her hair otherwise I might end up crying right in front of her. I really wanted to tell her the truth,so I decided to take a bold move I would go to reths house and tell her the truth

    Even Peter deserves the truth as well, I knew Rita sent Reth here for a reason,so I dressed up then followed Reth to her house,I would have loved to go there alone but I really don't know their house. While walking with her I expected her to say something but she didn't.

     She hasn't changed a bit. I told  her that the only difference between her now and then is that she was taller and her face were  a little bit mature  Her character hasn't changed. I knew she was taken aback by my remarks. Maybe I should stop talking so I won't scare her.

      On getting to reths house,rita wasn't around so we waited for her ,I tried thinking of how to start a conversation with Peter and rethabile,what if they become angry because we hid it from them.

  Rita came in a few minutes later,she hugged me like she just saw a celebrity crush, she did the same with Peter,she held him at shoulder length, there by pulling him for another hug,I knew peter was as nervous  as reth. He fell on the floor,after Rita hugged him the second time.

    I chuckled softly he could be so dramatic atimes,I exchange eye contact with Rita,she understood what I meant already.these children need to know what happened,we finally told them and thankfully there reaction wasn't as bad as we thought.
