Chapter 74

     " Yes I am " I replied, " we would love to examine you." He said, ``What does he mean by examine me, I arched a brow at him. This is just great. I will be used as a lab monkey, what makes me different from all the mentally ill people that are here.

     "We ran some test on you, your brain has no malfunction, surprisingly it's stable but you still act mad, so we took permission from your parent and they agreed, I promise we would take good care of you" he said.

     This is stupidity,isn't it high time they finally believe that I am not mad?, I have Said it a million times, I am not mad, but they just want to prove their point, I kept quiet," we would do weird things to you, I hope you come out alive" the man said.

    In a calm tone, this is not what I expected. I actually thought he would give me reasons to follow his instructions, no my life is being threatened, " Reth!," Athena yelled, I stood up immediately " look beside you" she said.

     I could see black smoke emitting from everyones body, everyone was possessed, wow this is a bad time, "rethabile, give us what is ours" they all said in unison, as they walked towards me like zombies, this must be another illusion, they can't be real.

      "Reth, don't be afraid" kailani said, " this is Just images that we are afraid of seeing, this is my fear, we are facing my fear" kailani added, I couldn't comprehend what she was saying, what does she mean by this is her fear, then why am I scared?.

     I remembered when I was thrown out of the house, when I started dating Peter, I was afraid that my mom would find out then I would be thrown out of the house because I am an embarrassment to her and the family, or maybe if I get pregnant and I end up being rejected.

    Shit now I understand, they are using our fears to ruin us, why would kailani think of such animations, no I am facing it, " Reth we might get hurt" Athena said, and I couldn't help by flinches as I thought of the mean and bad things that I would go through.

         They were all coming closer slowly. Each step forward I take a step backward, I know we can't hide, neither do I have the liberty to fight because they are demons, they are stronger than humans, I am not a vampire. Well that's not real but still.

       If anyone uses powers, the demons will become stronger, like they are feeding on the powers we use on them. That might be right Everytime we use powers on them they become stronger, " you are right Reth, I guess we need to use physical powers on them" Athena said..

       We stood our ground, they were coming from my back as well, all the cells were open, I kept telling myself, ' this is an illusion, where you get hurt' that's all I kept chanting, I might be grabbed by one of them, so I need to protect myself.

     I could see familiar faces, all of them were mentally illed people, I even saw Raymond, and my heart sank it would be quite painful to hurt him, " it's an illusion reth'' Athena said, wow even in time of war, they keep on reading my thoughts, that's fantastic.

      She scoffed. Immediately one of the possessed people got close to me. I hit him with a chair. I used a lot of energy. It broke but he didn't flinch. This would be harder than it seems. I immediately took to my heels. This is fucked up.

      Athena and Kailani tried kicking them but they barely moved. They were thrown away like a crumpled piece of paper, if they could be Thrown away who I am, I might be thrown even harder.

       There must be a way to stop them, we were surrounded, " this might be the end Reth" Kailani said, " why can't you be optimistic for ones, mostly in time of need" I said to her, " I can't help it" she replied.

    " Oh no, this is not a time for argument" Athena said, I looked at the angry people before me, I could see Stella she was whispering the word cake… she must be obsessed even when she is possessed she keeps shouting cake.

        She should be the one that the test is supposed to be carried on, not me we need to think of something quick any injury sustained now can't be healed even if the illusion stops,"kailani I this is your fear, I guess you are the only one that can stop it" Athena said.

     She might be right, there's only two ways we can get out of this scene, either we accept the beating and the injuries that accompany it, or you cancel your fear then everything stops.

     " Try kailani you can do this" I yelled, she bent down and she closed her ears with her hand, I guess she is trying to concentrate, she needs to do it fast, they came really close and I could feel fear engulf me, I received a loud and painful slap on my face.
