Chapter 73: Is it a Date?

***Are you asking me out on a Date***

It was Saturday evening, mom and I were almost ready for our dinner, but Cynthia was not here yet. I kept on peeping through the window hoping to see her In radiant gown walking towards our house.

I've asked mom severally if she remembered to asked Cynthia's mom for permission when she visited them last night. I had purposely asked my mom to go visit aunty Paula so she could take the opportunity to ask them to permit Cynthia to go out for a dinner with us. Though mom did go, I still have not seen the proof, as dor me, I played my part, I asked her to join us on a dinner yesterday when we were coming back from school and she said she will have to seek permission from her parents, though she thought that I should have told her earlier she thinks that her parents will think that the timing is extemporaneous. Though I told her that my mom will come to talk to her parents about it later in the evening when she returns from work.

I remembered the first thing Cynthia said when I told her about the dinner. It was very funny, that was the same thing that I had asked mom when she told me about it too. Well I never found it easy to air the world out, I just dont understand why I had to seem a little too shy or even timid around Cynthia, I'm not like that around other girls, yeah, it is true that I'm still a virgin, but I'm unquestionably not a neophyte around girls, I have always found my way around girls easy and smooth, it is just my own kind of gender that often gives me a hard time to relate with. So, when I asked Cynthia if she could join me and mom for dinner, I did it with a trembling voice, and this was her first response.

"Are you, asking me out on a date?"

She asked as she narrowed her eyes looking at me, the look was more like she was suspicious of something that excited. So I responded nattily.

"Nooo, it's a dinner party, mom invited me and I told her that I'll like you to join, and she accepted."

"Hmm... I'll love to, but you know my mom, my dad might not have an issue, but my mom would, she will say its too impromptu. That's just the difficulty I have, if not, I'll love to."

So she said.

"Ok, if that's the problem then that means we have no issues. My mom will be showing up at your house this evening after she is back from work to talk to your parents about it, hope that's ok."

I said. And she said that the idea was a nice one. Well, Cynthia said something that I related with, though it was not nice it was true. It was true because I understood that.
