Guilty

But I pleaded with her to calm down and not to take matters into her own hand.

"Lucinda, I don’t just understand you, you are the one who told me you saw flames in her eyes and you thought she had been possessed, and now you are telling me you don’t think she is possessed anymore after you have seen her crocodile tears," he said. She fixed her gaze on him, maintaining eye contact with him.

"I am sure of what I am saying and she asks me to protect her. I already gave her my word, I will protect her by any means necessary, " Lucinda said, glaring into his eyes.

"That means you are ready to be my mortal enemy because of her," Ralph said, sitting upright on the table as the waiter dropped the food on the table.

"I will do that to stand up for what I believe in, I don’t care if we become enemies in the process." She replied

"Why do I feel like she has hypnotized you since you are supporting her? That’s good in a way; you will help me keep a close eye on her and report to me what you find strange about her." He said, rubbing his chin. She smirks

"What makes you think that I will do that." She shrugged

"Because I am your boss and Barbie is none other than your friend," he replied taking his spoon from the table.

"Now that I found out Barbie is innocent, I feel guil…. Ralph put food in her mouth, preventing her from completing her sentence. She ate the food slowly, staring at him.

"This is where we eat, not a place for discussion." He grinned and took the food with the same spoon he used to feed Lucinda and dipped into the food, eating it.

The rest of the day was filled with silence and grief, Ralph and Lucinda walked out of the company, Ralph called his car to their front. She entered the car, and he drove off, heading to the end of the road and making a U-turn.

"Lucinda, tomorrow is the funeral, which means there is no work tomorrow, so I advise you to wear a black dress or cloth tomorrow." He stated

"Do hu… I mean, why are you asking me to wear a black dress tomorrow? she asked, and he smirked.

"We wear it to funerals, dummy," he stated, and stopped the car.

"We've arrived," he said as she stepped out of the car, waving him goodbye as he drove away.

Lucinda walked into her house and saw Medusa sleeping on the couch. She sat on Medusa’s leg, Medusa grunted and pushed her away.

"My queen, you are back. What do you want? Can’t I sleep in peace?" Medusa asked with a grin, sitting up on the couch.

"What happened to you and your boyfriend? You haven’t been talking about him lately," Lucinda said, removing her shoes.

"Just before he wanted to give me a job at his friend's restaurant, but he went on a business trip to South Korea, so I don’t know when he will be back,"  Medusa replied, looking down.
