"You didn’t ask me to join you." She replied, and Lucinda opened her eyes wide in surprise.
"Since when do you need my permission to eat something? Aren’t you the one that ate my food yesterday." Lucinda stated and Medusa quickly took the spoon from the table and started eating with her hands shaking.
"You are one weird comrade." Lucinda said and Medusa grabbed a bottle of water from the table and started drinking.
Lucinda's Point of View
Why do I have a feeling that there is something strange about Medusa? She is not acting like herself anymore. It’s like there is a new her. Like she wasn’t the one I talked to yesterday. I finished eating and she cleared the plates. Medusa normally calls for the waiter to come and clear the table. I walk to the bed and take the bottle. It looks like it’s the water that we drink, but Medusa said that it’s magical. I can’t do it today. There is no work. How about I just keep it? I will try it on Barbie tomorrow, I walk to the wardrobe and put it inside my bag. And suddenly, my phone started ringing. I know it’s Ralph calling. I muttered to myself as I ran to take my phone from the top of the drawer.
"Hello." I muttered
"You can’t greet just hello." He whined.
"I assumed that's what you normally say when you get a call."I whined
"That is what people say, but I am your boss. You have to treat me with some respect, You will have to pick up the phone and say "good morning" whenever I call you." He commanded
"Alright, good morning sir." I mumbled, rolling my eyes.
"Morning, for your information, I am outside your house. Come out right away." He declared.
"I am already through. I am……. He hung up on me. He has no manners.
I grabbed my bag and Medusa walked up to me and looked at the bed; I knew she was looking for the bottle.
"Don’t worry, I have it. I am going bye." I said and planted a kiss on her cheeks. She just stared at me with her eyes wide open. She is acting strange. I waved and walked out of the house.
I enter the elevator and walk out of the building, greeting the waiter. I walked outside the building and spotted a car packed in front of the building. This isn’t Ralph’s car.
I ignore the car and try to walk away, looking at the car with side eyes, and I feel someone walking behind me. I hastened my footsteps and a strong hand held mine. I knew for a fact that it wasn’t Ralph because his hands were soft and the feeling I get from holding hands with him wasn’t there and his scent was not intoxicating me, like Ralph's scent does, and I turned and my gaze met a set of ocean blue eyes, which were swollen and purple and a plaster was hanging on his cheeks.
