Pretending

Author's POV

A smile curved across Luis's face.

"You guys think I don't know, Ralph of course." He muttered

Lucinda and Medusa gasped, staring at him.

"Talk to me, my queen cat. Got your tongue?" He asked, glaring at her.

"Hahaha." Lucinda burst into laughter, and Medusa joined her.

"Why are you guys laughing?" Luis asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You are quite funny. Where did you hear that crap?" Lucinda asked, staring at him with her head held high.

"Your husband's spy told me," Luis muttered, looking at the ghost.

"Spy? What spy?" Lucinda asked, looking around.

"You can't see him, he is a ghost," Luis muttered, fear gripped Lucinda.

"So my husband asked a ghost to spy on me?" She asked, with her mouth hanging loosely.

"Of course, who do you think you are?" Queen Luna inquired.

"Show yourself." Luis declared, staring at the ghost who stood akimbo and made Lucinda and Medusa see him.

They both gulped, staring at him.

"So..so he is real," Lucinda stuttered.

"Of course I am real. You don't have to lie to anyone; we know your secret." The ghost assured.

"You guys know nothing. I don't know what you are talking about, as long as I know I am pretending to be Ralph's girlfriend." Lucinda stated confidently.

"Pretending? Give me a break. I saw everything with my eyes, the way you guys are clinging to each other." The ghost snarled.

"You are saying nonsense. What proof do you have that I am dating Ralph? " Lucinda asked bluntly.

"I don't have proof." The ghost replied.

"You see, he doesn't have anything to support his accusation," Lucinda stated confidently.

"I will believe you when you slaughter Ralph in front of my master tomorrow." Luis declared, glaring at her. Lucinda bowed slightly.

"You have my word, I will surely kill him tomorrow," Lucinda muttered.

"Why does it sound as if I have heard this before?" Queen Luna whined, walking away.

Medusa held Lucinda's hand.

"Let go, Ralph. Is the only one in our apartment now," Medusa muttered.

"Fair well, my queen," Luis stated, waving his hand.

Lucinda and Medusa brought out their wings and flew away side by side.

The ghost wanted to go after Lucinda when Luis dragged him back with his trident.

"Don't spy on her anymore." Luis declared.

"We will find out about her true colours tomorrow," Luis muttered.

"I thought you believed her. I don't have to prove anything to anybody. If I tell my master, he will believe me." The ghost stated confidently.

"I don't know about that, but when it comes to Lucinda, our master loses his mind and might believe her over us," Luis replied.

"If he trusted her, why did he ask me to spy on her?" The ghost inquired.

"I don't know, maybe he is suspecting her, or just wants you to guide and protect her from danger," Luis replied.

"I doubt it; the queen doesn't need anyone's protection." The ghost replied.

Luis got off of the throne and rested the trident on the chair.
