“What are you staring at? Get the car keys!!” Ralph yelled. Jolting Lucinda out of her trance, she looked around like a lost puppy, not sure of what she was feeling. Lucinda ran back into the house, punched Mr. Maxwell in the face, and he fell to the ground. She moved closer to him, put her hand in the tight silky trousers he was putting on, and dragged out the keys.
"My car keys!!” Mr. Maxwell yelled, lying on the floor as Lucinda ran away. Lucinda quickly ran to Ralph, who was waiting impatiently for her, tapping his foot on the floor with sweat forming on his good-looking face. Lucinda hurried to the car, using the key to open the door, which was locked with her hands shivering. Ralph noticed her trembling hands as she opened the door for him.
“Open the back door quick!” he instructed. Lucinda opened the back door for him. He dropped his mom on the smooth back seat and rested her head on the seat.
Without wasting much time, Ralph rushed into the car with Lucinda and inaccurately switched on the headlights, and drove off. They arrived at the hospital. Ralph rushed into the hospital, followed by Lucinda, who was looking around the hospital with her mouth agape, looking at the different people that were in the hospital running and sitting around the rooms.
It was her first time in a hospital, and the unique scent hit her nostrils. She screwed up her face and looked around. There was no sign of Ralph. She was lost and lonely. She walked over to a kid sitting in the middle of empty chairs and joined him.
"You are beautiful, ma’am.” The kid complimented.
"Thank you very much, sweetie." She replied.
“Why are you here? You don’t look sick? I am here because I have food poisoning.” The kid muttered. Lucinda found the kid a little strange. He had a unique set of eyes that distracted her from the world and made her lose herself in his world.
"I am here with someone,” Lucinda replied.
"Can I tell you a fortune?" the kid asked, his voice euphonious enough to make Lucinda shiver. She immediately felt the child was not ordinary.
“Yes.” She mouthed, unable to control her tongue. He grabbed her hand and put it on top of his small lap and looked into her hands for a second before letting go of her hand.
"You are going to face a hazardous time in your life when you will have to choose between your life and your loved ones.” The kid said in a hushed tone. Lucinda felt a cold breeze blow through her skin that made her pores rise.
"Can you tell me the solution?” Lucinda inquired in a shaky voice.
“Lucy! Lucy! Who are you talking to?” Ralph interrogated, standing in front of her. She pointed beside her.
“This kid..” She paused as she didn’t see anyone next to her. The seat was empty.
"Which kid? I don’t see anyone." Ralph commented.
"There was a kid here.” She groaned.
