Her stomach twisted as she could feel the butterflies. Her heart was beating so loud that she could hear it.
"Urm javier?" she asked
"Hattie?" he sounded unsure of who it actually was
"Yes it's me, i did not mean to disturb, you sound like you just woke up from sleep"
"You are not wrong, i just woke up" he said as he yawned tireldly on the other end " Why did you call?" he asked.
"Sorry for being a pain in the ass but my car stopped on my way home"
"And?"
"And you were the first person that came to my mind"
"Really?" Hattie could feel him smirking.
" yes" she bit her lips nervously
"Where are you?"
"Oh" Hattie did not think he would be that quick to help.
"Not too far from the hospital, though. Am at Beverly"
"Ok i will be there to get you in exactly 20 minutes"
"Really?, well ok" she said with a wide smile as she cut the call. She really deserved a gold medal for pulling this off.
It wasn't up to 15 minutes when she saw a car headlight flashing over her face, she squinted her eyes to enable her see properly. The car was coming at a very high speed that she even wondered what kind of person would drive that recklessly, the person sure did not have a value for life. She stepped out of the way so as to give the car free passage but to her surprise it stopped right where she was. The car was tinted so she could not make out who was driving the car. She shifted uncomfortably, trying her best to act cool incase it was a kidnap case. She started preparing herself for any thing. She knew that shouting won't do anything as there was not even a soul on the road.
The car door opened and to her surprise it was Javier. She mentally face Palmed herself . Here she was overreacting like she had always done.
How breathtaking did he look for someone who just woke up from sleep, his blue shirt clinged to his perfect body. She could not help but ogle at his perfectness, he sauntered over to her. She tried her best to keep her cool before she would loose her mind.
"Hattie" He called out. The way her name slipped out of his mouth made her stomach churn.
"Javier" she called out, trying to sound as neutral as possible as she held her head up high.
He walked round her car, examining it
" What exactly happened?"
"I dont know it just stopped" she took some time to look around "can you fix it?"
" No Hattie, I dont fix cars"
She wanted to tell him to stop saying her name that way. The way he over emphasise the "Ha" made her brain turn inside out.
"Urm sure ok"
"Let me get you home" he turned to look at her.
"And the car?"
"I will get it towed tomorow to your house"
"Ok" she stood there, too nervous to enter his car, she did not want to overstep her boundaries. He walked over to his car and stood by the door before turning to her once more
"Are you just going to stand there, hop in" he said
**
The silence in the car was so frustrating, she kept stealing glances at him, looking for a perfect way to start a conversation. She looked down and noticed how short her skirt was, exposing her pale thighs. Her face turned red in embarrassment as she adjusted her skirt.
Javier didn't seem bothered a bit by the silence, he just drove with his eyes on the road. He drove so carefully that Hattie was starting to wonder if it was the same car that pulled up for her.
"Do you live around?" Hattie finally asked
"No" he answered blankly with his eyes on the road
"Why did you come?" Hattie couldn't help but ask
"You called me right?" he said with a straight face, his eyes still on the road.
Hattie was already getting uncomfortable by his sudden coldness. Was something going on in his life that was bothering him?. Or did he not like the idea of helping her out.
"Did i do something wrong?"
"No"
"Okay" Hattie gave up, maybe he didn't want to have a conversation with her.
He stopped at her house entrance as Hattie alighted from the car. She made up her mind that she was just going to thank him and leave. She was going to be as formal as possible.
"Thank you" she mumbled. it was so faint that she was sure that she was the only one that could hear it.
"Hattie?" Javier called out and her legs weakened. She turned back to look at him. He always had this look in his eyes each time they made eye contact. He would always look at her so intently that she would forget how to breath. No one has ever looked at her like that before.
God what was this man doing to her?
"Yes?"
"Would you be free on saturday evening?"
Her eyes widened.
"Are you asking me out?" she said in a rather high pitched voice judging from how nervous she felt.
"Just a harmless dinner" he smirked
"Sure" she didn't even give it a second. Now she felt embarrassed of how desperate he would tag her as
"Saturday evening by 7pm then?"
"Yes"
"I will come pick you up" he started the car and drove off.
Hattie could not help but wonder the kind of man he was. He had too many personalities, and that, she couldn't get used too. But one thing was sure, she was falling hard for this man. She let out a smile as she walked into her house

Javier let out a sigh as he opened the door to his apartment. He lazily dragged his feet upstairs but was interrupted by a sound. He strained his ears to make out where the sound was coming from. He knew that his instinct were always sharp. So he was sure that he heard something. The sound was made again, this time even louder. Javier was sure it came from the kitchen. He cautiously walked to the kitchen, carefully, not to make any sound. He flicked the kitchen's light light on. To his surprise there was no body. He assumed it was just his mind playing tricks on him. He turned around to leave, before he could make it across the door, he felt a hard kick on him back. He fell to the floor as he groaned In pain. He tried getting up, to see the culprit but the intruder was faster than him, pinning him to the floor. Javier immediately recognise the intruders scent.
"Who are you?" Javier said in rapsy breath. It could only be one person but javier wanted to be sure.
"Who else?" the intruder said calmly, still pinning him down
"Let go of me Andrew" Javier groaned, trying to wiggly his way out. Andrew released his grip a bit and Javier found the opportunity to flip him over.
"I told you not to break into my house again" Javier shouted angrily, banging Andrew's head on the kitchen floor repeatedly.
"Can we just talk, like normal human beings?" Andrew spoke out
"Oh now you are reasoning, after breaking into my house?" Javier punched him hard on his face. Andrew let out a smile, he was clearly not affected by anything Javier did to him. Javier slowly let go of him and got up.
"What do you want?" Javier said walking over to the fridge to get a bottle of water
"I was just checking on you, sweetie"
"Don't call me that" Javier snapped angrily which made Andrew smirk
"Why are you here?" Javier asked in an annoyed tone
"I was bored and I needed someone to talk to"
"we don't share that type of relationship"
"How are things over here?"
"Better than you left it"
"Fair enough"
"And Hattie?" Andrew blurted out. Javier turned sharply at him.
"What do you mean?" he asked trying to sound as neutral as possible.
"Am talking about the psychologist" he paused to look at Javier
"You guys seem to have a lot of chemistry, i could feel it"
"We don't" Javier gritted his teeth. He felt like walking over to Andrew and ripping his heart out. He didn't want to show any emotion because Andrew might end up hurting Hattie. He began to wonder why he even cared about what would Happen to her.
"I hope so, for her sake"
"Don't try anything funny with her" javier said as Andrew looked at him cautiously as his eyes held anger. He walked over to Javier not breaking eyes contact. He placed his hands on Javier's chest and closed his eyes, as if trying to savor the moment.
"Don't test my patience" he whispered, finally opening his eyes. He glared at Javier before letting out a disturbing chuckle
Javier pushed him, causing Andrew to fall to the floor, landing on his back.
"No need for the aggression" Andrew said as he stood up
"Don't touch her" Javier said with a venom filled voice
" stop making it seem like am the villain, you are just as dangerous as i am. It won't take long before she notices
"No we are different" Javier snapped "i have a heart and you dont"
"A heart?" Andrew said amidst laughter
"Just accept the fact that we are the same, we think alike, we act alike, the voice in our heads are the same. And that's why we belong to each other" Andrew added
"Get out"
"Am not done"
"Trust me, it's for your own good, I might end up killing you"
"I will like to see you try"
"Andrew! Leave this minute"
"If I go, i will get lonely. Oh or maybe I should go over to Hattie's, So that she could keep me company" Andrew said with a smile
Wrath filled Javier as he rushed over to Andrew and held him by his neck, pressing him against the wall.
"Don't even dare" Javier shouted angrily to the struggling Andrew who was already turning purple. Javier slowly let go of him and stepped backwards. Andrew retaliated and gave Javier a punch on his jaw
"You sure overstepped your boundaries" Andrew said to Javier who now had a busted lip
" if I want to get Hattie, i will, and there is nothing you can do to stop me"

Hattie tossed the maroon dress away. It was too revealing. It fell to the pile of clothes on her bed. She signed in frustration as she ran her fingers through her hair. She had not realised how much she was lacking in terms of clothing. She only had to worry about cooperate wear and not dinner wear. She barely went out anyway. She checked the time
'6:43'. She needed to find an outfit. She stared at the dozens of clothes on her bed that she had tossed out due to one complain or the other.
Her eyes caught a red dress that was hanging on her wardrobe. She took it and accessed. It did not look bad at all. She had found the dress when she went for under garment shopping and she couldn't take her eyes of it. Even though she did not go out too often, she still bought It. It wasn't the type of dress you can wear to work so it just kept sitting on her closet. She had totally forgotten about it. She picked it up and slipped it on. She walked over to the mirror and stared at the dress in admiration. The dress clung to her body, outlining her hips. The hand was tiny but wasn't revealing. She really had a problem with how short the dress was but She waved it of. She took out a comb to straighten her messy hair that she had kept in a bun. She brushed it as she winced in pain at how tough it was to comb. She used her fingers to untangle some strands to make it more easier to handle.
Hattie couldn't help but smile at the thought of going out with Javier. Javier coming into her life has made her realise that someone actually cared about it. She wasn't going on this date because she felt lonely but because she wanted to. She took out a powder from her makeup box that was already dusty. She barely used it. She applied the powder to her face. She also took out a mascara and eye liner to out line her eyes. She finally took out a red lipstick to finish up. She stared at her self in admiration. She did not remember the last time she felt this flushed about something. She was always cut up with work and all. She smiled inwardly by the thought of it.
The doorbell rang and Hattie already knew who it was. Adjusting her dress and hair, she walked to the door. She breathed in trying to steady herself before opening the door.
Javier stood there looking breathtaking as usual with his navy tuxedo. She loved the way his hair was groomed. She remembered how messy it was when he came to pick her up during her car troubles. She felt like running her hand through his dark hair. She quickly snapped out of the thought. She mentally face Palmed herself for thinking about such.
"Hello Hattie" he said with a warming smile
"Hi" she smiled back
"I must say, you look stunning" he said as her cheek was flushed. She could feel the butterflies again.
"Thank you, so where are we going?"
"That would be for me to decide" he said
"Okay" she came out of her apartments, shutting the door. He held her hands as they walked to where a roll royce was packed. Hattie had noticed the car when they were talking but she never thought It was his car.
How rich could he be to own a roll royce. He did say he runs a company though. He held the door for her as she entered into the car. She felt on top of the world. She had never been in a roll royce before. She just sat down very stiff, careful not to touch anything. Javier walked to the other side and entered the car
"Are you okay?" he said smiling at her
"Yeah am fine"
"Okay sit back, am a pretty rough driver". He was driving a roll royce for goodness sake, why does he even think of driving rough. If she had one, she might just end up packing it in her garage for admiration
"I made reservations in starbelly"
"I've never heard of that"
"You haven't?" he stared at her in disbelief
"No"
"Okay well you will know of it today" he smirked
"You really like keeping to time" Hattie said
"How?"
"You showed up at exactly 7"
"Oh, am not a very punctual person though, i guess you have started having an effect on me" he smiled looking at her. Her cheek flushed as she looked down in embarrassment.
