"It was all Andrew" Javier said to Hattie who was still laying on the hospital bed
"Andrew did it?" Of course it was Andrew, there was no way that Daphne would want to kill her out of nowhere. How confused she was at that moment that Daphne attacked her.
"Yes he did, lashedta are very good at manipulations"
"He wanted her to kill me?" Hattie asked trying to sit up, overcoming the pain she felt on her head. The migraine, along with the outer pain was almost unbearable. She winced slightly, causing Javier to tap her slightly on her arms, encouraging her in regards to the pain. She managed to sit up
"Where is she, Does she know?"
"She actually remembers a little. She feels a bit down. I explained the whole thing to her"
"Everything?" Hattie's eyes widened. He wasn't talking about the whole lashedta thing. Was he?
"No, I made up a story, manipulated her into believing it"
"Which was?"
"She being drunk"
"So you manipulated her? Javier, how many times have you manipulated me?"
"Never"
"How am I supposed to belive that"
"I can't manipulate you. My powers don't work on you, Hattie. At least to an extent"
"Why is it that way?"
"You should be happy, If my powers did work on You, i would have manipulated you multiple times to keep your mouth shut when you constantly nag"
"So now you are calling my a nagging lady"
"I am not calling you that, it simply what you are" Javier smirked
"How adorable" Javier added, Which made Hattie flush despite the ache in her head.
"Anyways I don't like you manipulating my friends. it's rude prying into someone's thought"
"Do you suppose I left her with the thoughts? Then you would most definetly have alot of explaining to do"
"Where is she?" Hattie rolled her eyes at Javier ignoring his statement.
"At her house" Javier responded and silence overtook the room. Before Hattie finally spoke.
"How did you know, I was in danger?"
"I told You, I always feel it when you are in danger"
"How is that?"
"Am a lashedta"
"Can you tell when other people are in danger?"
"No"
"Then why me?"
"I don't know Hattie"
"Do you feel connected to me?" Hattie asked trying her luck the second time.
"I can't feel connected to you"
"Why, Javier?" She asked already tensing up
" I already told you Hattie"
"Yes you told me about some stupid lashedta rule, You did not tell me what you wanted"
"It doesn't matter what I want. That just how it is done"
"I don't care how it's done!" Hattie couldn't help but act the way she did. She was fed of being left, floating between love and rules. The courage that it took her to say those words was surprising. It could be the after effect of the pills that the doctors had been administering.
"Hattie you would hurt your self more, you shouldn't be this tensed"
"I can't help but be, when around you"
" Hattie try and get some rest, We would have this conversation When you are healthy"
"Am hungry" Hattie blurted out, scrowling at Javier.
"I would get you some food" Javier stood up and walked to her, holding her arms. The goosebumps she felt as a result of the sudden contact.
"What are you doing?"
"I want you to lie down, while I go get you something"
"What if I don't want to lie down"
"Well I would have to force you to"
"Fine" she gave in
"I don't even feel as bad as you suppose I do"
"Wait until the analgesic wears off" Javier said, carefully laying her on her bed. He reached for the sheets and spread it round her body
"I'll be back" he said faintly.
***
"How long could it have taken to find a little girl" Adriel said
"Rebecca most definetly lied. I felt it, truth is never friends with her" Lagatha said
"What are we going to do to her?"
"Kill her"
"After all these years, I thought you would have let it go"
"Am not that type of woman, dear husband. I do not tamper justice with mercy." She said plainly
"How are things going at the firm?"
"Bad enough. Harry already signed the contract with Javier. He kept on giving silly excuses and I had a feeling that he had already sighed with another company. Turns out that my assumptions were right"
"For how long?"
"For almost 3 months"
"Hmmm, took you long enough to find out" Adriel said taking a sip from the glass cup in front of him, as he scrowled as a result of the harshness of the drink.
"I never liked that boy"
"Harry or Javier?"
"Javier"
"Always filled with plenty tricks"
"Too smart for my liking"she added
"Just focus on Fay and leave Javier. He is kind of dangerous, if you think about getting rid of him. It would be difficult"
****
Fay got down from her bed, making her way to the restroom just opposite it. She searched for her slippers, while still rubbing her eyes with the back of her palms in a bid to drive the sleep away. She heard the front door being opened and the sleep flew on its own. Who was that?. Hattie couldn't be the one. She did mention that she was with a friend. And she wouldn't come by when the night was too far deep. Fay stood up slowly. She reached for the light switch and flicked it on. She remembered the dagger that she always kept in her side pocket when she was out on the street. She walked to the her coat that was hanging by the door, reaching in to the pocket, luckily she found the dagger. She needed to protect herself, incase it was really an intruder. She made her way towards the front door. Quietly and carefully not take any sound. She didn't want to sell her self out. She found no one and the door was just the way she left it but she was sure that she did hear a noise coming from there. How strange? she thought. She turned directions of her room working towards it when a force pulled her from where she stood, to the floor causing her to wince in pain as a result of the hard impact. She crawled towards her room with her elbows trying very hard to fight the pain.
He had finally come for her again, she thought. That was her deepest fear. The fear of him finding her again. She had thought that he had finally left her alone but he was back.
She kept on crawling but she felt a harf tug on her, dragging her back to where she started from with great force. Her skin brushed against the hard floor, causing it to peel and sending a sting impulse to her brain.
"Please..." she managed to whisper
"You are coming with me" the male voice said but it was different, it wasn't like the one that attacked her.
"Who are you?: she tried asking but it was too late as Darkness overwhelmed her.
Fay opened her as she groaned in pain. She stared around but the thick darkness prevented her from seeing anything. She tried to get up but she was retrained. She couldn't decipher if it was chains that was wrapped around her but it had a strong grip on her, preventing her from moving. It was wrapped too tightly around her body that it became painful anything she moved around. The intruder had brought her here, She thought. She knew better than to shout. That would only call for attention to herself and that was the least she wanted. She tried to slip her hands free but it was almost impossible. She felt the lump in her throat, the tears were threatening to fall as she swallowed hard. She didn't want to die. What did this people even want from her? she thought. She had nothing to give them, but here she was tied up to a chair wating for her faith. She had been attacked by two differnt people. What was so special about her out of other American citizens.
The door opened causing a little light to quench some part of the darkness that overshadowed the room.
Fay looked at the person standing in front of the door. It was still a little bit dark, but judging from the angle the person was standing, she couldn't see clearly who the person was. The person did have a feminine figure. That, she was sure about. The lady walked slowly but steadily toward the chair were Fay was tied up. She lifted Fay's chin then proceeded in smacking her hard across the face. Fay could feel the sting across her cheek. She tasted something metallic in mouth. Blood
"That's for all the trouble you have caused me in finding you" the lady said grabbing her face forcefully, with her long nails almost causing an injury to Fay's fragile skin
"Who are You, and what do you want from me?" she managed to whisper. She was quite suprised by the sound of her voice. It must be as a result of the longing thirst for water that she felt.
"Where is the pendant?" The lady asked ignoring Fay's question
"What pendant?"
"You are playing smart and it won't work for you. Trust me, When I want something, I get it"
"I don't...." She was interrupted by a resounding slap on the same cheek that she was still healing from. Tears gathered in her eyes as a result of the stinging pain she felt
"Look, you ruin my nails" the lady said with a pouting tone
"I think you should think very well of your response, next time" she added with venom filled tone
"Now I ask one more time. Where is the pendant?"
"I swear to....." She was interrupted by another slap, almost felt like a punch on the same cheek. She spat out blood, wincing in pain
"Wrong answer" the lady said walking round the chair were Fay sat.
"You are the only one that could in possession of that pendant, don't you dare lie to me young lady" she caressed the top of Fay's hair.
"You know, I was going to kill you when I find you but I was told you are in possession of the long lost pendant" she continued walking round Fay chair.
"Telling me or not, you will still end up dead. So think well again before thinking of lieing to me"
"I don't know what you are talking about" Fay whimped, closing her eyes, waiting for another slap
"You know what, that's it!" the lady snapped
"Hadson!" She called out. The door opened and a man walked it. It was still dark so she could not make out his face too.
"Yes ma'am" he said. Fay them realised, he was the one that brought her here. She recognised the voice.
"See to it that this girl gives you every information concerning the pendant" the lady said plainly, walking towards the widely opened door.
"Oh" she turned swiftly
"Don't kill her yet"
Fay knew she was done for. She was going to be tortured for a pendant, she knows nothing about
"Please am begging" Fay screamed after the lady exiting the room. She couldn't go down for something she knew nothing about.
"I don't have any idea about this" a hard punch landed on her face, causing her jaw to almost loose alignment with her face. She coughed continuously as blood dropped from her mouth opening. The lady closed the door behind her. Fay could hear the clicking sound from her high heel starting to fade, as she went farther away from the room she was in. Fay gulped. She knew the worse awaited her. The room felt hot, she was in pain, she was thirsty and the metallic blood taste in her mouth made her nauseous.
Hattie was still on the bed when her nurse walked in. Javier had put her in a differnt hospital, not where she worked. Maybe because he probably wanted her to rest fully, rather than have a lot of visit
"I see you are doing way better" she remarked judging from the fact that Hattie sat up, on her own accord
"Yes, much better. The pills are doing their magic" Hattie let out a smile
"Someone is here or see you"
"Who?"
"She said she goes by the name.... stephanie"
"I don't know any Stephanie"
"Should I tell her, You don't want to see her?"
"No, just send her in" Hattie was curious of who asked to see her. She definetly didn't have alot of friends.
Nurse Sandra left and returned shortly with a lady by her side. That must be the Stephanie but Hattie didn't recall ever meeting her. She was more on the tall side, having a model built body. Her dark eyes appeared largely on her face. With her dark hair which cascaded down her shoulder. She walked in with a lot of confidence as she constantly kept looking around the room, like she hadn't been to a hospital before.
"Here she is" nurse Sandra said referring to hattie
"Stephanie?" Hattie said squinted her eyes in confusing trying to think of an occasion where they met but she couldn't
"I would be leaving now" nurse Sandra said heading towards the door. Now it was it was just the two of them
"Who are You?" Hattie asked trying to sound as polite possible
"You grew up really fast" Stephanie smirked as she walked round the bed Hattie was laying on, ignoring the question asked by Hattie. Hattie found the statement she made rather odd, judging from the fact that they were at the same age range.
"What do you mean?"
"You really took after you mother, Agatha. The resemblance is striking. I must say"
"You know my mother?"
"Who doesn't?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Your mother handed you a pendant. I presume?" Ignoring Hattie's question again.
"Yes she did"
"Do you realise how much power that pendant holds?"
"What are you talking about?"
"And you do realise that Hyran aren't suppose to mix with the lashedtas?
"What the fuck are you saying. How do you know about the lashedta and what is a hyran" Hattie almost yelled as she was already loosing her mind. The way Stephanie talked wasn't straight at all
"Who are hyrans. I think you should rephrase that questions"
"Well?"
"Am afraid, I can't give you the answer that you seek in regard to that question"
"How do you know my mother?"
"Just a friend"
"You are too young to have been friends with my mother?"
"That doesn't matter"
"Then what does?"
"Stay away from Javier"
"Are you joking?" Hattie almost laughed at the statement
"It for your own good. A lashedta isn't supposed to be near you. He knows that"
"And Javier doesn't care about the rules" well some of it
"He can't love you"
"He made that point clear " Hattie said as the lump formed in her throat
"I need the pendant" Stephanie needed to go to the point of coming here in the first place.
"And you think I would just hand it over, because you asked?"
"I always deem it fit to ask before taking"
"Well am not giving, I value it too much to give it out. My mother gave it to me. It means alot"
"You don't have a choice. I didn't give you any"
"You can't force me?"
"I won't. You would give it to me with you own accord" Stephanie smirked at Hattie with made Hattie shift uncomfortably on the bed
