Chapter 84
Seeing that her mother inlaw was still fast asleep and even snoring, she faced the doctor who still had that happy look on.
"I cannot be pregnant"
She repeated.
The doctor smiled at her and handed her the envelope containing the result. You can give it to your mum when she wakes, for now just try and take care of yourself, I will also tell your mum when she wakes.
"Doctor, please do not tell her not anyone"
Anna spoke finally. She needed time to comprehend these things.
"But why?
The doctor didn't know why she was not happy about her pregnancy, she was not single, she is a married woman who already have a child from the record she has of her.
"I am sure you are aware of what is happening in my family right now?
"Yes I am aware, but the news of a baby makes people happy and not sad"
The doctor stressed.
Anna wanted her out of the room immediately but she didn't know how to ask her to leave.
"Doctor, I don't want them to be too worried about me, please let me tell them as at when due. We already have enough problem with the accident of my husband and all, telling them about my pregnancy will only make them worry too much. So please don't tell them"
Mrs Anderson woke up immediately hearing the last statement.
"Don't tell us what?
She stood up transfixed, looking at both Anna and the female nurse. As no one was answering she started to get out of control with her unending question.
"Is my son alright, is he dead?
She adjusted her cloth, straighten her hair and rushed out of the room.
She was going to her son's ward in fear.
Anna turned to the doctor and said.
"You see, I told you, they are too worried about Andrew, if you tell them about me now, they will also be worried about me, do you want her blood pressure to rise more than it has done already?
The nurse nodded and said.
"Alright then, I see now that u shouldn't tell them anything yet"
She walked out of the room while Anna hide the result under the pillow.
She didn't want to think too far, it was useless asking the obvious question.
She couldn't be asking how she became pregnant.
The way a woman gets pregnant could be in different ways, but she has become pregnant through the natural way.
The only problem now was, she could never be happy about the pregnancy as the pregnancy was going to make her sad for the rest of her life.
The pregnancy was going to ruin her and put her out of her home.
She could never be bold enough to let the world know about her pregnancy.
This was a pregnancy that would not be accepted because it was her husband was not responsible.
He had not touched her so there was no way he could be responsible for her pregnancy.
She has the answer to the unasked question, she knows the father of her unborn child, it was not a mystery to be solved, it was a mistake she welcomed instead of running away from it.
She was not pregnant for her husband.
She was pregnant for her gynecologist.
