Chapter 150
He walked in to the room and took a seat.
"I will tell you all you need to know" he said, after ensuring that the door was locked, he walked back into the room and stood infront of her.
I know you have been suspecting since the day you saw me at the hospital, you are the only person that have stared that way at me, you just knew it from the first day.
He removed his fake bears, brows, lash and everything he had on.
"It is I" he said and waited for her reaction, he was expecting the worse. Maybe a slap, a kick or something, but she looked at him and while he was waiting, he didn't see what was coming to him, she was going down gradually, he rushed at her and she fell into his arms.
She closed her eyes and he quickly placed her on the bed in one of the rooms upstairs, he covered her with a blanket and walked baway from her.
He knew she would still react when she wakes up, but for the time being, he needed to just watch her.
He went into the kitchen to make food for her. He was still on it, when he heard foot steps, he knew it was her, she was tiptoeing, trying to be as calm as possible, he also pretended to be too engrossed in what he was doing.
He added the onion to the oil and the noisy distraction continued, she took that opportunity to get to the door faster. She started to turn the door, trying to run away, but the door was locked.
She saw the keys on the table, she also tried to tiptoe to get the keys, Joseph knew he needed to stop her else, he might not be able to hold her.
"Looking for something? He asked not looking back at her, she stopped on her track and looked defeated.
"Do you want the keys? He asked, now turning to get the keys from the table.
"I need to leave, I cannot be here"
He understood what she was saying, they have cause so much trouble already and now with them together would only put her in more troubles.
"I am sorry, but j cannot let you go now, it is too dangerous out there. He said going back to the kitchen.
"And you are where I should be, you are the safe one? She asked rhetorically. You landed me into this trouble in the first place, it was because of you that I am going through all these pains and sorrows and here you are yellknge I am safe with you?
I prefer to go stay with my monster of a husband as many of you would see it, instead of being with you here, you will only cause me more troubles.

Joseph swallowed all she was saying to him, he was not so interested in the insult, his worry was her safety.
"No matter what you say or think, I cannot stay and allow any harm come to you. He said in a firm stand.
"You cannot keep me here against my will, why does everyone think they can make a choice for me?
Why does everyone think they can decide for me, I don't want to be here and that is final.
"I will let you go, when I am sure, you are not so vunerable, right now any harm done to the babies would hurt you even more" he said still not meeting her eye.
"Oh I see where your interest lies. You are only worried because. Of the kids in my stomach, you wante to have them and then you can push me to the lion's den.
"That is not what I said, I said when I am sure you are no longer vunerable.
As you are now, you cannot run when something serious happens, you cannot make a quick turn, you will always put your baby first, which is why I said when you are free of them.
"And who told you that I will give you my kids.
"Jndknt need you to give them to me, who ever they are with, I am okay as long as they are safe. I am not a worthy father, I cannot allow any child call me Daddy.
Anna felt bad for being so harsh on him, anyway she speaks to him, he was still calm.
"Children should come out of love, not deceit and rape. What I did to you was wrong and I have no excuse, but please forgive me, by staying alive, because even if it is the last thing I do, I must make you happy. And keep you safe. It is my priority.
And maybe the only way that I would be able to pay the prize for what I have done is to look after you all my life.
I am not asking you to love me, all k am asking is for you to be able to tolerate metill you have had these babies, I will keep the safe, not just because they are my babies, but because it is my responsibility to keep them safe and also because if anything happens to them, I might have to die this time for real, I might have to leave this world for real this time.
Anna moved away from him to take a seat, she was not comfortable looking into his eye, he had a sorry look on his face and she was sure she was already falling for him again, it usually starts with pity most times that is how most people fall inlove.
Though lots of people have their reasons why they fall in love.
Some fall in love because of looks and wealth, but she has always started by putting the other person.
"I still don't trust you" She said, wanting him to convince her some more, but hoping that he doesn't have to lie to her, but then she was not ready to hear the truth either.
"I am not asking you to trust me" he said and she raised a brow to look at him.
All I am asking is for you to give me a chance to show you three things.
"Which are?
"That I can be a better person. That I am sorry and...( He didn't want to say his next reason, he swallowed hard, he did not want to drive her away for any reason, he wanted her to be safe with him, but if he told her the next reason, she might not feel so safe, she might get scared and worried, but Anna's voice brought him back to the question he was trying to dodge.
"I am still waiting, what is the thrid reason?
He could not keep it to himself, he was going to say it anyway, he was going to be plain with her.

He said it in a hurry and was about to leave, but then he paused and said again.

He left, she didn't try to stop him. Thank God she was already sitting down, else she would have probably fallen down again.
She still had questions for him, but she knew that was not the right time for questions, she was going to keep her eyes open and make sure she does not engage in unnecessary discussions with him, she does not allow her heart fall again.

What he was preparing was already mesmerizing her brain, she wanted a home made food, she could not tell the last time she ate a good meal, since she became pregnant, she has had a problem with her smell a d even her taste.
The maids were cooking for her with bitterness and she was also bittered towards them, whenever she wants to eat whatever they serve her, she would be scared they have poisoned her, because they always have her that disgusting look.
She sometimes try to make her own food and she would stay in the kitchen till the food was ready. Most times she would end up taking snacks.
Soon he was out with a bowl of fresh soul which he placed on the table.
"I made this for you, it is mostly for pregnant women, it is healthy and it has some healing tonic added to it"
She didn't look his way, she did not want to be charmed, her eyes were on the plate he was dropping, the look was so inviting, she was hungry even though he had bought her some food earlier, she was still hungry.
"How come you have all this at home, it seem as though you knew I would come?
"No, No, No. I got them on our way here, wen I went into the fast food to get that rice and chicken for you. This was what I wanted to get, but then I saw a store and I knew I could make a better one, instead of the one they usually make in fast foods with so much seasonings" He defended himself. There was something about him, he looked so pale, like he had not slept nor rested.
She knew hiding, for him would be crazy, they were hours away from where she lives, she was in the same house where her pregnancy was formed.
She could not wait for a second invitation, she stood up and went straight to the dinning taking her seat, and she started eating.
The taste was as good as the look, infact it was better than the look.
He stood for a while before he finally left her to go do the dishes and clean up the mess in the kitchen.
Anna heard him sweeping after she had heard him washing earlier, she was done eating, but she didn't want him to come to the dinning to get the plate, she decided to take them there, but as she got to the entrance, she watch his back as he was doing the chores, she smiled genuinely for the first time, he was really handsome, she wondered why anyone would leave him for Andrew, which hurt him and drove him into taking revenge.
She knew he regrets his actions because he was suffering too much, hiding was more like not existing, because you cannot go by your name, neither can you do the things you use to do.
Joseph knew she was behind him, but he didn't want to look back, but he was no longer comfortable, he stayed washing a spoon for more than three minutes before taking another, but then he summond all the courage he could gather to look back and he saw her. She immediately adjusted herself, by clearing her throat and was about to bring him the plate she was holding, he rushed to get it from her, he knew he had made a mess of the kitchen and he didn't want her falling down, but the moment he dropped the plate ln the sink, she turned back, but slipped, but before she could get to the floor, he rushed at her, his hands inside her armpit, without asking her, he carried her up in a bridal style and took her back to the room he had prepared for her.
She closed her eyes, pretending to be in pain, but when she felt herself on the big bed, she opened her eyes and saw him sitting down to check her legs, the way she stretched her legs when she was about to fall, she could feel her legs spin and if he hadnts carried her, she might not be able to stand up.
