Chapter 138

They couldn't believe their ears, did he really just spoke to them? Maxwell couldn't get the lighter on on time and so Walter switched on his phone torch instead, still living it on flight mode to avoid anyone calling him.

He could see his face, staring at him, he was looking at him the same way he had looked at him the other day, that day he could never forget, that day that he had killed him.

"Oh my God Joseph, you are alive" 

"How is that possible? He asked not meeting the eye of the other man in the room, he was still standing in the dark, like he was hiding from him or something.

All I can remember is that, you killed me" he said and Doctor Walter looked down in shame, he wish he wouldn't have to talk about what he did to him, not like he had a choice, but at least he gave him a chance to live again.

"How is it possible, that I am still Alive? He asked again, and Maxwell moved out of the darkness into the illumination.

"The same way, it is possible, that I am alive" Joseph opened his eyes I'm disbelief, he couldn't believe who he was seeing, he blinked his eyes like a million times to be sure, he wasn't dreaming about this, but do dead people even dream? This must be some kind of a mistake. First he was sure he had died, he had felt all his intestine turn and his muscles weakend, he was sure he saw himself in Walter's eye as he left the world, what did they do to me, how did they bring me back to life? He kept asking himself.

"That will be a story for another day, I will explain everything to you, all you need to know for now is that, we faked your death, and now you are alive" Maxwell didn't want them to waste time on talking too much and since Doctor Walter was still feeling bad about what he did, he needed to take charge.

Joseph wasn't convinced yet, his Uncle, was supposed to be dead, he had been involved in an accident and died, we had even thought he wanted to die because he was escaping to be brutally treated by those he owe money, but still he died and he was buried, how was it possible that he is now standing infront of him, Joseph wanted to know, he asked him, but he wasn't ready to give him any detail.

"Like j said before, I will tell you everything, some other time, when I am in the right frame of telling stories, for now let us understand each other.

The Anderson wants you dead, they killed you, they believe you are dead, and so you cannot still be alive, therefore you are going to have to live your life on disguise, until your case is forgotten" Maxwell said, and moved to where he had placed his bags and started bringing out his disguise costumes.

"You killed me, why then did you try to bring me back to life? You should have left me to die. He said feeling really sober.                         Being Alive, I haven't made much impact, I should have left, you should have made it happen, you should have never listened to whoever made you bring me back"

"Are you saying you don't want to be alive? Walter asked, moving close to him, he was quiet. Are you saying no part if you is happy that you are still alive? Are you saying no part of you wants to have a family, not even see your unborn child?

Every one deserves a second chance my dear friend.                                                      Life is all about second chances. Not in every single aspect, of course, but we’re often granted a “re-do” without even realizing it.

The truth is, some of us are given a lot more but instead of being grateful, we feel entitled. We take people for granted and become hateful when they finally refuse to forgive our mistakes over and over again.                    We’re only human, right? Every man makes mistakes at some point.                                  But when someone decides to forgive you and gives you another chance, you should grab it with both hands — because you might not get a third one.

God is giving you a second chance, do not question him.

Let me share with you some bitter truth I have learnt about second chances.          When it comes to life in general, second chances are basically new opportunities that we should take advantage of. Sure, life might seem ruthless and unfair at times, but not always. Think about your child as the new opportunity given to you.

Some people literally get a second chance to live, while others find a new love. We just have to learn to recognize and appreciate a new chance when it’s given to us.                      You may not have Anna as the love of your life, all you need right now is find out how you will help her, bring forth your child.

Do not forget, that Every moment of your life is a second chance.

Thank God you are still alive, even though you died, but you are still alive,  for many have died and are dying as I speak. Some are fighting for their lives, some will give anything to have what you have, some would give anything to be able to breath well, some would do anything to be able to use their legs, some would spend all they have to be able to eat well. I shouldn't even be telling you all these, you work in the field, you know what I am talking about.

You still have the opportunity to change and make things right whilst those that have died wish for that second chance.

"Who would want this boring life of mine?

He finally interrupted him, then Maxwell spoke up.

Having a second chance makes you want to work even harder. Make your life better, you can do better things.you know me, you know how I lived my life, when j was faced with death, I knew I needed to live, there were reasons I shouldn't give up.

I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.

I may not be perfect yet, but j am trying my best. Second chances do come your way. Like trains, they arrive and depart regularly. Recognizing the ones that matter is the trick.    If you ever get a second chance in life for something, you’ve got to go all the way.            You cannot stay here sulking, and giving me pity face, you have got to go all the way.     There’s nothing as exciting as a comeback – seeing someone with dreams, watching them fail, and then getting a second chance.

If City D doesn't need you, your community needs you, you need to come back and help people live healthier life.

We all make mistakes, everybody should be given a second chance.   

Sometimes life gives you a second chance, or even two! Not always, but sometimes. It’s what you do with those second chances that counts.    A second chance doesn’t mean anything if you didn’t learn from your first

 Do you know that I have been asking your aunt Grace for forgiveness, do you know how long it has been that I showed myself to her?

"You left her when she needed you the most uncle, you don't expect her to just accept you like that" my dear, If somebody is gracious enough to give me a second chance, I won’t need a third.

Don’t think there are no second chances. Life always offers you a second chance… It’s called tomorrow.

Sometimes in life, you’re not always given a second chance, but if you do, take advantage of it, and go out with a bang!

Every second a seeker can start over, for his life’s mistakes are initial drafts and not the final version.

Let tomorrow be your second chance to prove that you are better than today and yesterday.    

Sometimes goodbye is a second chance.

Miracles were just second chances if you really thought about it — second chances when all hope was lost.

That is what life is about. We do not get redos, but we do get second chances.

Chance is not a word to toss in the air. It’s a word to take in, a word to give yourself.

He paused and walked away, to hide his face in the dark once again, he didn't want Joseph to see him cryy, but it was already too late, even Walter had seen it.

Finally,

A second chance doesn’t mean you’re in the clear. In many ways, it is the more difficult thing. Because a second chance means that you have to try harder. You must rise to the challenge without the blind optimism of ignorance.

"You need to try on your costume so that we can hit the road. Maxwell came out again, as if nothing had happened.

"Where are we going?

"To the Green house" Maxwell said, that is the only house your parents cherish alot, and they never wanted anyother person to have it, I have been watching that house from afar, for so long, I never ever thought for once that you would come back there, but I saw you that day, when you walked in there with a woman and a child, I thought she was your wife, I thought you got married already, but now I guess I know who see is.

"That is Anna right" Joseph looked away, he really didn't want to think about her, but he just couldn't stop thinking about her, she occupied every aspect of his life, he was sure that even while he was dead, she had been the only one he thought of.

"Uncle, do you have a potion that can make one stop feeling?

Walter knows why he was asking, the way his eyes sqwish whenever her name was mentioned, one could tell that he may never get over her.

He fell inlove with her just after he committed sin with her.

"There is no potion that can kill love, because Love itself is a potion that kills hate.

Love doesn't just happen like I hear people say 'i just fell inlove'  We do not have to love. We choose to love…When we understand love as the will to nurture our own and another’s spiritual growth, it becomes clear that we cannot claim to love if we are hurtful and abusive. Love and abuse cannot coexist.” so you make the choice in your heart to love.

Looking for a potion to  kill what you have chosen, is an impossy quest.

Don't try to suppress what you feel for her, it is powerful, don't kill it nor fight it, because no matter how much you try you will only end up living her even more. LOVE her unconditionally, you never can tell, God might bring you, your own where you are going to.

Now  try this on (he said handing him a costume that he could wear as a suit that will disguise him from head to toe. He needed to see himself, he felt different as he took few steps forward and backward, he was able to stand on his own without help, and as if Maxwell read his mind, he brought him a car mirror and showed it to him, he looked at himself and knew, he wasn't himself, he looked like someone else.

"You can always remove it, whenever you like.

This is going to be temporal until the world forgets you.

"What is the use of second chances of the world would need to forget me?

"The impact that you will make, will keep you in their minds forever.

We need to live now, soon it will be morning, Walter and Maxwell helped Jisei to leave the uncompleted building with his new look.
