Chapter 177

Anna was cooking once again, this time, she did not want to make any mistake, even though Joseph was there with her, she refused him cooking.

"You can do the dishes she said and looked away immediately, when she noticed a smirk on his face.

They were devious, she did not want to look at him, he was probably looking at her because of the last mistake they made.

"My uncle should be happy to eat a home made food" he said and she kept mute.

She needed no reminded that for the first time, they had invited Elder Maxwell, they wanted to talk to him about the treasure house they discovered, and so Anna wanted to be the one to make the food.."I know you think i cannot cook a better food than you do, but I will shock you today". She said as she continued with what she was doing,  he left the dish he was washing and came behind her to hold her waste.

"I trust you and I know what you can do". "Don't try to patronize me". She said and shrugged herself, to get his hands away from her waist.

She was chopping the carrot now and not looking his way, if he was not careful with her, she might stab him again.

He stepped backward and spoke gently into her ears.

"Please don't stab me, you know I want to spend sometime with you, but if you kill me, I may not recover this time". She turned back to face him and made a sign like she was going to stab him and he raised his hands and ran out of the kitchen, leaving her to do all the work alone.

Anna was happy to be left alone, she did not like his eye on him watching he whenever she was about to spiice anything.

Joseph sat in the living room going through his phone and checking out the pictures they had taken together, when he heard a slight knock on the door.

"I don't think anyone lives here". He also heard the person say to another, the voice was kind of familiar, but he could not remember where he had heard it before, but there was no way he would open the door to a total stranger, so he decided to take a peek.

When he saw them, he ran back into the kitchen.

They were the same guys he had met at the restaurant, how did they find him here, he was panting when he got to the kitchen.

"Are you not going to get the door? Anna said as the knock increased.

"We cannot open the door". He said, looking around, trying to figure out what to do.

"How do you mean? She asked looking confused.

"Those guys from the other night, they are at the restaurant, I mean they are here". He sounded confused, but Anna understood him, she held onto her stomach, she suddenly felt a sharp pain, it was not time, so she could not be in labour.

"What is wrong? Joseph asked rushing to her.

"I think I am in labour". She replied, but he nodded in disagreement, you are not, I think the pressure is too much on you, you should relax, and those worry about those at the door, I will take care of them.

He made her seat on the kitchen chair with her legs resting on the stool, she felt a bit relaxed with that position, that was the benefit of living with a GYNECOLOGIST' by the time Joseph resurfaces, he was disguised as an old man.

Anna almost jumped out of her stool.

"You want to kill me or something? She said and he smiled at her.

"I am glad you look better, I will see you later, let me take care of those at the door.

Anna caressed her stomach, she had been so scared, thinking they were about to be discovered, but the disguise Joseph have on can never be detected, maybe next time she would disguise herself so that she would be able to spend some time outside with Joseph.

Joseph managed to get down, pretending to be weary and old, he managed to open the door and saw the ugly looking men, they were shocked to find an old man, he even had a walk stick with him.

"Sorry sir" one of them said and Joseph, could not wait to get back inside, bending down to act as if he was so old was not an easy thing to do.

He wondered how the actors and actresses do it with ease.

"What is it you want? He asked shaking his voice.

"We are sorry to have disturbed you, it's just that we thought.. (his words were cut short when Maxwell walked up to them, seeing Joseph with the old man disguise he said.

"Father, why have you come out, go back into your room, you know you need the rest". Joseph was happy for the lucky break, he turned back and went in, while Maxwell faced the men.

"What do you want?

"Emm, actually I think we missed our way, we are sorry" he said and pulled his friend along with him, they  walked as fast as their legs could carry.

Joseph stood straight and rushed to check on Anna, she was now standing and she was done with the good.

"Hmm, something smells cooked? He said and she turned back to see an old ugly man staring back at her.

"Please if they are gone, you can remove that thing, you look so ugly". She said and he laughed hysterically.

"What did they want? She asked him.

I really don't know, I guess your husband sent them to start going from house to house searching for us, and since they already know our faces, they were confused when I came out.

"That is good" she answered looking disturbed.

He removed his mask and moved to hold her.

"Soon, I will be able to take you around the world, you won't hide and we can show the world what we feel for each.
